I havent been on Sparks People site for around 3 months. Finding time to sit and log my food has become a big struggle for me. I have been at a stand still for around 5 months in losing my last 10 pounds. I excerise 4 X week outside the home, 45 minutes in the morning before going to work and usually walk 30 minutes during the day. So excerise is not the problem. I even ran a 5K first time ever !

I have a friend that found this book called The Fast Metabolism Diet from Haylie Pomroy.
Dont mean to stear away from the Sparks Solution book which I did get and read , it just didnt work for me. This is not really a "diet" persay, its all healthy eating. There are 3 different phases of foods on certain days. But you do have to give up wheat, soy, corn , dairy, reifned sugar,caffeine, alcohol, fruit juices and sweetner.. You stay on this for 28 days straight. Yes you wil lose weight. My friends have lost over 40 pounds, I tried it for 28 days and lost 6 of my 10 punds. I was THRILLED ! This is something you dont have to do after the 28 days, but if you dont get to your weight loss you want to be at you keep following the 28 day program till your weight is where you want it to be. I love this because no pills are taken to lose weight, its all about healthy eating. I have ate items on this program that I would never of thought of eating. Sprouted grain bread and tortillas, I have never heard of before but now I eat these and love them.. Buffalo hamburger would of never guess that would be any good. Excellent love it. THe good thing about this program is the meat you can eat ! wow alot of it. There is an app for $1.99 for Apple Ipad or phone , once you download and put in your weight it tells how much oz and cups are needed for the amount of weight you want to lose... Carob chips, I have never heard of before, I make my own granola bars with these chips, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, coconut, natural peanut butter, honey , chia seeds and flax seeds. AWESOME I will never buy another granola bar , will make my own. Deli Meats and jerky as long as they are nitrate free....

So I will not be logging anymore of my foods but still will be popping in and out for logging weight and measurements. I also love the recipes on here and just making new friends and keeping in touch with old friends.. All the support i have gotten from Sparks people has been awesome. I love the DVD's and will still be doing them into my routine..

I have 5 more pounds to go to hit my GOAL ! I know I can do it now, I am on a roll !

Boot camp

Well, my bootcamp is over and what an experience it was. Our instuctor had us running, and I ended up doing a 5K run in 33 minutes. They say thats pretty good for first time run , I just wanted to finish it without walking which I did, it was an awesome experience.. I am thinking about another 5K in the fall , see if I can beat my time , now I have a goal...

New Fitness Classes

I do zumba 3 x a week ( sometimes 4 ) and love it.. I also started a yoga class during the week which I love. For the month of June I am going to give up two zumba classes and a yoga class to try some new fitness classes . Boot Camp 2x week , Aqua Zumba and a class called Turbo Kick. . I am excited to try something new. I have also downloaded the new Spark Solution book on my kindle , I am hoping that with these changes it will help me get out of my rut and reach my goal to lose my last 10 pounds ! Wish me luck !! Will keep you all posted if I survive the Boot Camp ! LOL

Day 1 Bootcamp - Well started off with running, me and my friend ran 1.5 miles but then found out we really ran 1.78 miles . Yaa for us, since we have never ran in our lives.
Did some strengthing with bands , was a good class.

Turbo Kick - this was an interesting class since once you start your are doing kicks, punches for an hour. wow what a good cardio workout I must say. I was sore from Bootcamp and I am sure I will be really sore tomorrow after this. I will return for Tuesday classes in June. Our instuctor gave us a new taste of a new fitness class which is like zumba but you dance out letters and numbers . It will catch on like zumba I am sure. Its fun and she is the only certified instuctor so far in OHio who will be teaching others the class..

Day 2 Bootcamp - Ran 2 miles today, cannot beleive I am actually running, never have done it and didnt think I would really like it. I am really sore from Turbo Kick but the running helped stretch out my legs which was good for the muscle spasms.. Guess its always good to try something before thinking you cannot do it....

Aqua Zumba - what a diffence in the water than onland for zumba. It was fun and a good way to get my muscles to settle down from the other two workouts i did this week...

I am on my last week of bootcamp and have been running at least 2 miles during this fitness class.. What an experience I have had. I am also signing up for my next class in July then running a 5K with our class, so excited.

I continue to do my Turbo Kick and Aqua Zumba classes for next month too. I am glad I made a switch with my fitness classes ..

Senseless Act of Crime

Today I am going to my cousin's memorial service as he was shot earlier in the week. He was at his own home, inside sitting in his own chair, as someone shot thru his window . His wife found him in the morning and called 911. They think he was shot between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am.. When she called 911 she said he was covered in blood and thinks he was shot. There were mutlipe bullets holes in the window by the chair he was sitting at... As the police try to determind who did this, they said some neighbors saw a person in the neighborhood around the time they think my cousin was shot and they have done a sketch of this person of interest... My cousin and his wife live in a nice neighborhood. This is such a very sad loss for our family. My cousin Paul was such a good person. I do not know of anyone who would want to do this to him.. He was 65 years old , had a passion for life.. He was an avid bicyclist, loved the outdoors, volunteered his time with the Little Brothers. Little Sister program, went to church every Sunday and helped out with the maintenance and cooking for the monthly men's breakfast. What is really sad is that my cousin went thru the Vietnam war . He was a rifle expert and awarded numbers of medals during combat .... How can you go from being a hero in the war to being shot in your own home...
He was the "coolest" cousin in my eyes, when we were little and had reunions with our families he was the one we all clung to and hung around. He wasnt afraid to push us in the swings or play ball with us , when our reunions went from the park to his sisters house, she had a pool and if you didnt get your suit on in record time you were getting thrown in with your clothes on. Which he did to me a few times...
So the memories will always be there it is just very hard to understand why or who did this to such a fun loving postive person...
Pray for his family ( his mother is still alive) a brother who lives in Colorado and his sister who has early Alstermizers disease, all of his neices and nephews, cousins and all his friends which he had many ..... The gates were wide open the night he went to be with the Lord and now he is our angel in the sky... We all love you Paul, and will miss you terribly, look out for us down below...

Fruit and Veggies

I am not a fruit person but love the veggies. I am committing to myself to eat 2 fruits and 2 veggies a day. Instead of sweets or junk food to snack on I will be eating more healthy.

    I have been eating my fruits and veggies every day.. The apple a day with a little peanut butter is pretty good... I eat a banana in the morning with my cereal , I have always liked banana's so that is pretty easy... I am doing better with it every day. I have not tried those kind of oranges but will see if I can find them.. Oranges is one I dont care much for.. thanks for the info HAWTGRANNY will check them out.. emoticon

    Have you tried cuties, clementine oranges? They are small and oh so good. I love them. they are satisfying and you can have two.
You can do this. I love fruit because of my sweet tooth. They're not chocolate but much healthier lol.
I eat celery with a little peanut butter spread on and then a few raisins. We used to call them ants on a log.
Peanut butter on apples is good too.
Have a great weekend and keep on trying new things that are good for you.

    Fruits and Veggies, not bad at all. I have been good in eating an apple and banana emoticon a day..plus veggies on the side with supper. Has been easier than I thought it would be.. emoticon

    Good for you!!! I like just looking at all the different colors before I take a bite! emoticon emoticon I bet anything that you will soon like fruit. I ate an apple yesterday and was shocked at how sweet they actually tasted. It was a different kind of sweet than what you get from candy, cookies or other sweets. Much more satisfying.
