Day 3

Thursday, June 06, 2013

My stomache is still sore. Im not sure if it is because I had my gall bladder surgery 2 months ago and started a sit up routine, or if it is because I haven't worked out in 4 months. The muscles under my armpits are also sore...I attribute that to my lack of exercise for 4 months :)

I did it again though. 3rd day of the 30 day shred. Im feeling good and hope I can continue the streak until the trip with my companion in a few days. Luckily we are going to visit his family so we will eat healthy and walk a lot....and I mean a lot because there is no public transportation where he lives and they don't have a car. It will be interesting.

Day 2

Wednesday, June 05, 2013

my abdomen was so sore this morning when I woke up at 6AM I took two Tylenol & that barely helped.

I still managed to complete day 2 of the 30 day shred a few hours later. I almost didn't do it, but then I thought about my companion and wanting to be healthier for him so I did it. A little sore and a little slower I completed every move. I feel great.

Thanks everyone! I like the 30 day shred quick tough workouts. This is my second attempt with the videos. The last time I didn't lose any weight and very few inches, but I definitely felt stronger. So I am giving it another try and hoping to see results this time around. :)

What kind of results have you seen?

Are you talking about the 30 shred by Jillian Michaels? It's a DVD correct? I have it to pick up at the library and will try it this week. I am just now getting back to exercising and am very out of shape. I hope that I can handle it.

The 30 day shred really does kick you in the butt that's for sure! But stick with it, you'll be amazed by the results at the end!

Starting again

Tuesday, June 04, 2013

So I lost my workout mojo when I started my new job. Ive gained a bit of weight and inches and I hate my new job. I also just had gall bladder surgery, apparently the thing was necrotic, but I feel so much better without it.

SO now I am job searching, trying to maintain my relationships, and workout all at the same time. My motivation is low, the missing gall bladder is going to make my weight loss even more difficult, but I have to do it.

Today I started by completing level 1 of the 30 day shred. I did the modified pushups and completed everything at the moderate level. Im sore, but fine.

Ive taken my measurements...and I am off :)

This time around I have to get my companion on board, he is always encouraging me, but says he loves me just the way I am...I am lucky :)

Thank you for the well wishes! Supportive family will be the determining factor in this weight loss challenge. :)

Sounds like we all have some great significant others. My boyfriend is the same way. He told me in his eyes I am "perfect" the way I am, but would do anything to help me if this is what I want. The people around us can make all the difference!

I too had my gallbladder out. I assure you, it gets better with time. It's been 3.5 years since mine was removed and I'm living basically the same as before just without the pain!

30 DS is a great workout! It was one of my favorites!!!

That sore feeling from accomplishing things is so great!!

You are lucky. My husband is the same, will accept me no matter the size, but is encouraging and very proud with what I have accomplished!

Good luck, you can do it, and lots of us will encourage you!

Day 2 of challenge

Thursday, November 08, 2012

So, I still have not read the book but i started the challenge yesterday. All I know is that I am only able to eat for any 8 hour period of the day as much as I want and the remaining 16 hours i can't.

I thought that would be tough but I was fine day 1. Maybe it was because I was at work? I don't generally crave food at the typical breakfast time, I just want a glass of water , a cup of coffee (ok maybe one very large cup) and I am ready to go.

Lunch will be my first meal of the day and I will have to figure out when I am eating dinner and count back for my lunch hour. I have told a few people about this challenge and they laughed but will be supportive.

The book arrived yesterday and I will pick it up today so hopefully more details will help me with this challenge.

Again I was motivated to do a quick workout before work. I need to wake up earlier if I want to get a full workout in, but i am NOT a morning person. Unfortunately I live in a NYC apartment and the pounding of a workout is not appreciated by my neighbor below at night :)

Good luck to everyone and thanx for reading my struggle (or maybe success!) through this 8 hour a day challenge.

I think I'm back?

Wednesday, November 07, 2012

I needed motivation and after I started working at my new job...I didn't have any... I also didn't have any time or support.

So i recently saw a post for the NYC area to join a challenge for a local paper and applied even though I am fairly shy and not looking forward to going public with my weight struggles. I know it is very apparent to others when they look at me that I need to lose 30-40 lbs, but it is not discussed. Everyone says I am fine, just chubby. So it is all of our dirty little secret that we do not talk about.

Anyway, I applied for the challenge and I have been accepted. Lets hope this is the kick in the butt I needed and I get back on track.

They have taken my pictures which was fine....but then they did the unspeakable.... they asked for my weight and measurements! How dare they! But I gave in and let them know.

I have been assigned a diet plan and I have been given 6 wks to follow this diet plan and see what happens.

I don't have the book yet but the challenge started today :) That is the bad news... the good news... I woke up early to work out again.

Im out of shape and didn't wake up early enough. I was able to do 10 minutes on the exercise bike and 15 push ups and reverse crunches on my exercise ball. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to accomplish more.

Wish me luck and I will try to keep you posted!
