ortho appt.

Thursday, April 07, 2011

RESULTS ARE IN .......DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!! Since I injured my leg somewhere in late December and Early Jan. the ortho feels that the results are skewed somewhat so: I had a Fx of the tibial plateau that has/is healing, hence the 'DEEP' bone bruise that still exists on the plateau, I apparently tore the IT band insertion which is also on the mend but not mended! A lot of visible scar tissue and swelling. There also is a visible tear on the lateral head of the gastroc, along with scarring and minor tear of the soleus. But I believe those to be "OLD" injuries. They also said that my ACL was thready, which also is an "OLD" in a nut shell, NO 'HARD ' training for another 6weeks. Then I may resume training but S*L*O*W*L*Y!! (ha). THANKS FOR ALL THE WELL WISHES AND THOUGHTS/PRAYERS! LOVE YOU ALL FOR THINKING OF ME! SO SOME ONE NEEDS TO HOLD ME DOWN FOR ANOTHER 6WEEKS!! ANY TAKERS? JUST KIDDING! emoticon emoticon

Bummer on the injuries!!! Glad you finally found out what all was wrong and that everything is healing. Six weeks...tough to be "quiet" for that length of time, but very necessary. Do what the doc says, or some of your Spark buddies just might come sit on you! LOL!!

wow...take it easy and believe that 6 weeks will FLY by and you'll be back out there..may not be fast like you want to, but the turtle won the race..dont forget that, you dont want to do anymore damage causing it to be another 6 weeks! xoxoxo : )

Sounds like it's time for some more upper body work! LET THAT KNEE HEAL! I am glad that it isn't any worse than that and you will be able to get back on track sooner rather than later. If you really need a volunteer to hold you down..... I love, love, love Colorado and would be more than happy to fill that need! emoticon Now take it easy!

warriors...of prayer!

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Good Morning Spark Friends and family! I need a little favor! Please if you will send prayers to my sister in law...they found a spot on her lung and rib...PET scan Friday in OKC. NEED ALL MY PRAYER WARRIORS! The Lord has began to surround her with the cloak of prayer; "He will shield us with his wings, his promises are our armor." Psalm 91:4.
Love you all and THANK YOU, Joanna

Jeannette is in my prayers. I am on the Prayer Path!
Matt 8:17 says "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses." Let it be so in the case of Jeannette.

I'mmmmmm bbbbbaaaaacccccckkkkkkk! Spent last weekend in Longmont with the Grand Nephews - Trick & Treating on Sunday - school for me on Monday and then back to Longmont to be with the boys - walked the youngest two to grade school on Tuesday - stopped to visit with a friend of mine who works at the Waffle House in Longmont and then home to run a couple of errands and then off to a workshop at the Huron Branch Library - job search stuff. Back to class at the Workforce Center today - had purse snatched - AND RETURNED IN TACT! and now I am decompressing. Didn't get out of class early enough to go to BC - emoticon Glad to be home - missing my buddies too - no computer access while in Longmont so, pooo!

recap! ROCK ON !!!!!

Monday, October 18, 2010

OKAY!! sorry to have vented yesterday! Just a tiny RANT! The race was a great course with lots-o spectators and fun...
My morning went...
woke up with body aches and a sore throat and a very squeaky, minimal voice. Tried to eat my usual pre race meal but only could choke down a few bites! The drive to Denver was beautiful! In the dark with good friends, but I missed the usual company I 'normally' have. Parked in Denver found my friends, kissed hubbie good bye until mile 6. Got in my corral and felt utterly ill, throat was on fire body aching! Tried not to think or dwell to much on it! Mile one was amazing running through the buildings of DENVER towards a crisp blue mountain range with fresh powder aaaahhhhh! Passed the PEPSI center and thought of all the amazing athletes that play there, passed COORS FIELD and wished I could be watching a baseball game drinking a beer with HUBBIE! Things are going well got in my groove...P O W mile 4 a spectator tried running across and we did the pavement TANGO together! got back up got in my groove again and...5.5 came I HAD TO GO POTTY!! The lines were CRAZY! But I had to GGGOOO!! Finally got in and WHOOLLLYY : ( NO NOT TODAY...NOT A WEEK EARLY!! To embarrassed to ask any one for product...forged on! Mile 6 H U B B I E was there with a cough drop and the sign my kids made YAHOO!! KISSES!! HUBBIE tells me I am 4 min. ahead of my predicted time!! NEW ME! Running was awesome 7, 8, 9 miles yahoo rounded the corner at 9.5....C RA MP!! Saw HUBBIE **k*I*S*S*E*S and my BOOTCAMP BUDDIES handing out GU new burst of energy...10.5.. CR aM p!! There goes the LEFT leg! AAAHHH a short hill, it helped stretch out ther cramp, cramp gone...NNNOOO for every up there is a down...C R aM p!!! Mile 11 yahoo.. got in a groove, mile 12, both legs sieze up, not just the calf but hamstring, this is new...what the frick! HOBBLING! Stopping, stetching, hobbling, stopping, stretching...ppppllleeaaasseee nnnnoooo!!! Round the corner see the finish! Start running again feeling good, hear the cheers the announcers bringing us home...NNNOOOO legs FROZE UP IN CRAMPs... CAN'T MOVE... I am right here, I have to finish...CAN'T make my legs move...feel like puking....NO .NO! NO! MOVE YOUR LEGS.....Finally I cross the finish....WHAT I HAVE TO WALK TO WHERE wholly crap! OKAY ENOUGH! Bottom line, I had a crazy RACE! It was a great course and I recommend everyone coming to it next year it was entertaining, flat, beautiful and well mapped out....
It was me who needed extra mapping out and ...well you get the picture! It was a beautiful day for a race, just not a good day for me! I will be there AGAIN next year....and it will all just be a laughable memory!! emoticon

I'm soooooo sorry you had problems. I know you wanted to go into it healthy and come out of it healthy and happy. Consolation? You finished! You fought through when most others would have done a "DNF." I missed you at the finish line. All of our drama came after the race, at breakfast (or lack thereof). Hope you are feeling better.

AAAAWWWW, Sista! I missed seeing you at the end! What a day you had! Pavement Tango - bummer! I got stuck with the "RUNNERS STOP" Cop who kept the runners at a stop to let cars through - HUH? I didn't this that was the way it was supposed to work! But, it was a great course and a beautiful day! I will post pictures tonight! emoticon
