It has been WAY too long since I've blogged on here! David & I got married in September, and the whole thing was amazing! Everything far exceeded our expectations and it was a week we'll never forget :)
I started a new job on January 2nd, and things are going well, I really like it! I'm still trying to get my arms around everything, and change was scary, but I can see myself here for a very long time.
Earlier this month we picked out a puppy and we get to pick her up next weekend! We still haven't picked out a name, but I'm sure it will be easier once we have her.
And, tomorrow we get on a plane and head to sunny, warm St. Lucia for our honeymoon!!!! I can't wait!!!! I packed my running clothes, and my goal is to continue on with my 10 mile race training while we're gone, wish me luck!

The last 24 hours has been emotionally draining. Last night my grandma called me to tell me she's not going to be able to come to our wedding. It's a destination wedding and she doesn't think she can handle sitting on the plane for that long. I'm completely devastated. My mom is disappointed also, and is trying to talk my grandma into go, so we'll see. I really hope she changes her mind. It would absolutely break my heart if she wasn't there.
Then, at work today there was a big shake-up in management, and I now have a new boss. There will be some big adjustments, and the unknown is kinda scary. Each of the engineers in my department met with our new boss one-on-one (are new boss used to be one of my teammates, which adds to the adjustment) and he assured me that I am not at risk of losing my job which made me feel better. The next few months will be interesting, though.

So, it's been quite some time since I've blogged. But I'm back now and recommitting to myself and my health. The best way for me to do that is to get active here again.
David graduated from school in May, and was offered a job an hour after his last exam! How awesome! Right after that, we started house hunting. After about 2 weeks of looking, we put an offer in and had it accepted! We closed on our first home July 1. We spent all of July painting, cleaning, and moving our stuff. I spent very little time at the gym, since we had some much going on with the house. Did I mention I was also playing rec volleyball 2 nights a week about 45 minutes from our new home? It was a crazy ridiculous month! Now that we are officially out of our apartment, I've had more time to get back to working out and eating better. We signed up at a gym near the house last week, and it's been going really well. I'm back to lifting 3x/week and running 3x/week, as well as walking at lunch with a coworker. I'm feeling better and have so much more energy, why did I ever slack on exercise in the first place?!
Next month is the wedding and I feel like there is still so much to do! I can't wait to marry my best friend though :) I would love to drop about 5 more pounds before then though ;)

Today was ok, I only did 15 minutes of walking, but I'm not going to get too down on myself. It was a long day and I just wasn't feeling it, I'm proud of myself that I actually went to the gym. Food wise, I wasn't terrible today, and did get all of my freggies and water and didn't have any soda, so I call that a success!

I had another good day! I met all of my mini challenges for the day and managed to avoid the vending machine! I wasn't feeling great by the end of the day and was contemplating skipping my run tonight, but went to the gym anyway. After a rough start, I finished my 25 minute run! I'm so proud of myself!!!
