So today is a day for celebrating and doing the happy dance!
I did what I thought I couldn't do...I kept up an exercise streak for 100 consecutive days. How did this happen? I finally got honest with myself. I tried to do 5 out of 7 days all spring and I found that I always had excuses and wanted it to be one of the two "off' days. Hence most weeks I only exercised 2-3 days instead of the intended 5. When I started Sparking I challenged myself: "How long can you go without missing a day?" My goal was 2 weeks, then a month, then 50 days...then suddenly I realized I could do it...now it has been 100 days. Don't worry, although I am type A, I actually don't feel obsessive about this. I know if I miss a day it is no big deal - I just want it to be a good excuse (as opposed to my old ones: "it's too cold out;" "I'm too tired;" "I don't feel like exercising today.") Now when I have those thoughts I think: "too bad, get your butt on the treadmill (or stepper, or bike, or elliptical...)
So what can one do in 100 days?
Here is what I did:
Walking outside: 44.4 hours
Cycling: 5.3 hours
Hiking: 18.8 hours
Dance: 1.7 hours
WiiFit: .6 hours
Yoga: 2.3 hours
Elliptical 2.0 hours
Stepper 6.3 hours
Treadmill 32.4 hours
Stationary Bike 31.5 hours
TOTAL: 145.2 hours
So there it is: the first hundred days. I continue to be curious how long this will go for. Wish me luck!
This is me on July 25, 2009 - 286 lbs
Pic of me today, November 1, 2009 - 246 lbs
40lbs lighter than 100 days ago
Definitely doing the happy dance - does that count as exercise?
