Not sure where I found my energy today but I am feeling AWESOME!
I went to the gym and torched it!
45 minutes on the Cross-ramp
60 minutes on Stationary Bike
60 minutes on the Elliptical
10 minutes on the Rowing Machine
10 minutes on the Arc Trainer
Sweated so hard I felt like I had gotten out of the pool - nothing like that clothes drenched-hair disarrayed ponytail-endorphine filled moment when you complete this kind of workout.

I have had my fitbit for a month now and I *love* it! I bought a fitbit one for a birthday present to myself at the end of October. As a former bodybugg girl I was hoping the fitbit would be similar but less bulky and noticeable. So far I have been very pleased!
I place the fitbit in my pants pocket or on my belt. I tried wearing it on the bra, but it annoyed me there. Although you can sleep with it on, I have only been using it during waking hours. It only requires 2 hours to charge every 4-5 days which is easy to keep up with.
So here is what I like about it. Hit a small button and it tells you how many steps you have taken (my goal is over 15,000 daily), number of flights of stairs, distance travelled, calories burned and the growing flower. I love the flower because the more active you are the more the flower grows during the day. I find that I will check in multiple times a day to see how I am doing. I am much more likely to take the stairs at work, go for a 10 minute walk or find some other way to increase my activity on days when the numbers are low. The fitbit also emails you or sends a text at times when you are close to reaching a goal to spur you on.
The website is easy to use and FREE. It give you graphics of your daily activities - which I like and also links with spark.
I just ordered 2 more - one for my dad and one for my husband. I promise I do not get any kickbacks from the company - but since I like it so much and have found it to be a useful tool to inspire me to be more active, I thought it was worth blogging about.
Stay active sparkies!

I promised myself that as soon as I lost the first 20 lbs on my restart that I would begin working with my trainer again. It is time...
John, my trainer came over today and I started off with about 30 minutes of honesty. I told him how when I worked with him a year ago I was so exhausted after our weight training that I would sleep for several hours, followed by 2-3 days of moderate to severe pain that ibuprofen didn't really help and let's not even start about the appetite increase. Yes, I became much stronger, but at a cost.
Having said that, not working with weights (which I pretty much never do on my own) results in rapid weight loss - but I am probably losing a good amount of muscle as well. And I like being stronger...
So we started today with some goals and ground rules
1. The goal is maintenance of muscle mass & WEIGHT LOSS
2. Continued weight loss is crucial and to be monitored
3. We will cut back intensity if I am too sore to do my cardio
4. I will eat cottage cheese and fruit after weight training to help with my hunger surges
After our talk I got my first weight training in 6 months - quickly back into the groove - weighed squats, pushups, situps, kettle presses. Then cardio...We'll see how I feel tomorrow!!
Also, given it was "Small Business Appreciation Day" Ron and I decided to visit our local small town running store and pick up some new shoes. I bought two pair (Brooks Adrenaline and Mizuno Wave Inspire) to put into rotation.
Hope everyone has recovered from Thanksgiving Dinner!
