Well, walking has been going pretty great!

As in, I DO it.

I fell of my circuit training kick after we went hiking & I saw these pictures that totally depressed me.
I know 2 months of circuit training isn't going to completely snap me back into shape, but I was disappointed to see not as much result.

Now, I also know if I hadn't been circuit training those months I would've never made it up the mountain so ...TG!

Anyhow, I'm still figuring out that balance..

In the meantime, I've been walking mornings, & then again at night.

It averages out to be 4-5 miles per day.

I feel GREAT! & I even convinced my hubby to walk with w me to the drugstore to buy the milk we needed for next morning's breakfast.

It was just under two miles round trip.

emoticon Good stuff.

Doing an exercise that does not burn too many calories is better than not doing an exercise that burns a ton of calories.

Great blog. I think doing exercise of any kind morning and might really keeps your body awake and burning calories. Great job!

Great job I should add letting the positive side of you take over the negative side that was looking critically at those pictures. That in its self takes strength and says you are on the right path.

I love to walk and walking with my hubby is the best. It's a lot more fun than walking alone!

Walking is amazing, and it's something that you can really enjoy doing, and it's never exactly the same walk twice even if you take the same route! I get so discouraged in a gym, I'd much rather walk or hike.

Will Walk for Nailpolish

Thursday, July 24, 2014

Yesterday I saw a hand (playing glockenspiel) & that hand had on very pretty orange-red nail polish.
In the 70s they called that color China Red.

I didn't like it then, but I love it now.

So, like a horse with a carrot, I said I could get the polish if I walked to the drugstore- a measly mile, 2 miles altogether there & back.

But- I walked that measly mile!!

& I was sore from circuit training yesterday, for the first time all month emoticon

Still finding my balance.
Even after 3 years of Spark.

Circuit Training & H.I.T

Thursday, May 29, 2014

I feel really good today. Do you want to know why?

Today makes the end of 4 weeks of circuit training (Mon-Thurs) & I have been doing between 35-50 minutes per session.
All DVDs (I'm training at home) are Jillian Michaels, & she rocks.

I rock.

I'm rocking.

Next step: find time on weekend to make a full 5 days per week. OR make sure to walk/bike ride /Something.

Anyhow, hello my friends & all Sparkpeople. Spark on!

Happy 2014~!

Saturday, January 18, 2014

Dear Sparkfriends,

I know I have not been a good Sparkfriend, I tend to just put in my tracked foods/exercise into the tracker on my mobile phone,
& then don't think to check in on my computer for some actual interaction (& motivation).

Which, really- that's a huge part of Spark. Maybe why I keep spinning my wheels these days?

A couple months ago, our scale broke (really!) I'd thought it was erratic, but then you'd step on it & the numbers would fly up to 500+, new batteries didn't help~
& we are on a new budget thing where we don't use credit cards for ANYTHING & on strict food/gas budget-
so do I really want to spend $20 + on a new scale?
Not really.

& the scale would hurt my feelings & progress more often than not-
I'd be eating well & exercising regularly , so excited to step on the scale & @&%@!

But, now- I have no excuse.
I'm not exercising, & really have not been eating well.

Or, really- I eat well all day, until night time when I have been eating a bunch of junk & drinking way too much wine.

Then, two days ago I got a stomach bug.

So, I haven't been eating much At All- & one thing is I still don't want to drink wine & the thought of eating fatty potato chips makes me ill.

So, it's kind of a silver lining- though I would not wish this feeling on anyone.
& I know it won't last, so I'm hoping my new mindset does.

I have 7 weeks to lose 10 pounds, so I can fit in my jeans again for SXSW festival.I can only fit into one pair of old 'Mom Jeans' , & it's not a good look.

I went shopping yesterday with no appetite, but I do anticipate getting one- & got all whole foods, no bags of chips.
I went through the flyer to find the sales on tons of fruit ~ & one indulgence- my beloved aged Gouda , which you know you only need a 1/2 ounce sliver to be really satisfied.
Oh, & an apple to go with it & it's heaven.

I hope you are well, & on track- I'm going to look around Spark & find folks who are sticking with the program & keeping their weight off.

Good luck in this bright & beautiful new year!

I can relate. My scale works but I ignore my scale too much. And the potato chips know me by name. I love gouda cheese - it is one of my favorites. To die for!! Food of the gods!

Today my friend couldn't make our walk ~ so, I walked alone!

It's nice to have a walk buddy, but ultimately, it's up to ME & I am the one who wants to get into 'that dress', & not quake in fear when I get an email saying someone has tagged me on Facebook.

I put on my hat (it was cold!) & put in my earbuds- I have a playlist called Move! & so I did.

If you have an iPhone I highly recommend an ap called RunKeeper- it uses GPS to show you how fast you are walking (or running, hiking ect)
shows you your route & calories burned.
I love it.

I have a secret talent which is out of the corner of my eye I find 4 leaf clovers~
& I found 2 today.

Hope they bring you luck!

Cool!! My hubby finds 4 leaf clovers too. I've never been good at it.

I used to walk alone too when I could not get someone to go with me. Now my hubby is forced to go. LOL.
