Iím in the midst of week two of my paleo and so far Ö..so okay. In some ways itís easier than I thought. For instance, I thought giving up bread would be horribleÖbut it hasnít been hard for me at all. I donít really miss it. I think one of these days I might start jonesiní for a peanutbutter sandwich, or some garlic bread, and I haven't really figured out a good way to eat my turkey burger with onions yet. This is me last night...bite of burger using fork, bite of onion using fingers, chew.
Another check in the woohoo column is... I find that I am far less hungry than I ever was on any other ďdietĒ Iíve ever tried. Which in my opinion is one of the absolute best things about it! A hungry Michelle is a Cranky Michelle!
On the flip sideÖ.Iím having a problem with variety in the vegetable department. The main problem is for the most part I have never liked fruits or vegetables. I like peas. Oh and onions. Fruits, I tolerate apples & pears. Bananas are okay, but since I also kind of follow the blood type diet too, I shouldnít eat them because Aís arenít supposed to have bananas. (along with coconuts and coconut products! Sorry coconut oil!)
So far I have had a salad every day for lunch and peas every night for dinner. Iím going to have to branch out at some point! Actually I tried green beans last night and didnít like them. (I had green beans in a greek restaurant once that I liked. They had some kind of yummy seasoning but that was years ago and I have no idea what it was. ) I have two recipes for brussel sprouts that Iím going to try probably this weekend. Anyway, as you can see Iím a little nervous about the veges.
The second issue is cooking. #1 Iím not a good cook and #2 I donít really like to cook, especially after a long day at work. I do cook more than one meal at a time, so that is helpful and Iím hoping that it will grow on me and that I learn to be a better cook.
SO! I think itís going okay, I still have quite a bit of work to do and progress to make, but Iím not having the urge to quit or back off so Iím calling it a win!

I'm not sure who this can originally be attributed to but I was reading through my emails the today and found an interesting reminder:
There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?" So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
"H-M-M," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?"
So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror, and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
"Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror, and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"
Attitude is everything.
Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Iím not this person but I think itís good for me to aspire to be more positive and to have a better attitude on a daily basis. Donít get me wrong, Iím not walking around with a glare on my face all day, but I can see why I kept this. Itís a nice reminder for me to try to be a better person. Now if I could just ďosmosisĒ this out to a few other people I knowÖ.woops! (Be nice, better attitude, be nice, better attitudeÖ)

Iíve only blogged once because I just havenít gotten the hang of
A. talking about myself to strangers
B. finding interesting things to say day after day
C. thinking that anyone will want to read what I have to say
Iíve never thought of myself as a sparkling conversationalist. Sometimes if I know Iím going to have to go to a party Iíll try and think up things to talk about or questions to ask specific people before I go. (dang! I just gave away my secret!) And talking about my weight? Not a subject that gets discussed too often unless itís a close friend or my mom. And nowÖ.Iím about to start blogging about it for all the world to see! Thatís a little scary! So hereís to opening up and laying it on the lineÖmay the blogs be interesting and the readers be kind!
