Attitude Adjustment

Friday, November 12, 2010

I'm not sure who this can originally be attributed to but I was reading through my emails the today and found an interesting reminder:

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.

Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?" So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.

"H-M-M," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?"
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror, and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.

"Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror, and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.

"YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Iím not this person but I think itís good for me to aspire to be more positive and to have a better attitude on a daily basis. Donít get me wrong, Iím not walking around with a glare on my face all day, but I can see why I kept this. Itís a nice reminder for me to try to be a better person. Now if I could just ďosmosisĒ this out to a few other people I knowÖ.woops! (Be nice, better attitude, be nice, better attitudeÖ)

Blogger, Blogging, Bloggist....hmmmm

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Iíve only blogged once because I just havenít gotten the hang of
A. talking about myself to strangers
B. finding interesting things to say day after day
C. thinking that anyone will want to read what I have to say

emoticon emoticon

Iíve never thought of myself as a sparkling conversationalist. Sometimes if I know Iím going to have to go to a party Iíll try and think up things to talk about or questions to ask specific people before I go. (dang! I just gave away my secret!) And talking about my weight? Not a subject that gets discussed too often unless itís a close friend or my mom. And nowÖ.Iím about to start blogging about it for all the world to see! Thatís a little scary! So hereís to opening up and laying it on the lineÖmay the blogs be interesting and the readers be kind!

Oh I know the feeling...I blogged once as part of a team challenge...*snorts*...it was not interesting AT ALL, lol...but I see blogging as another tool for self expression...if some emotional weight can get untangled and rid of well then the physical weight will just trot right after it...have a great weekend emoticon

I think you'll find that SparkPeople blog readers are among the kindest and most supoprtive out there! I know a lot of bloggers write for themselves, and don't worry about being witty for others. Hopefully something like that might work for you too.

I had never blogged before either. I definitely think some people are just gifted at it, while others need practice. I say jump in the water feels great!

If your dog is fatÖ

Thursday, September 02, 2010

Ever heard that old saying that if your dog is fat, you need to get more exercise? I wonder if the dogs have a similar sayingÖ.If your human is fat bring her your leash more often! I have 4 dogs and amazingly none of them are overweight, I work hard on getting them enough exercise and feeding them right but it doesnít always include exercise on my part. So why donít I do that for myself? Because failing myself doesnít feel nearly as bad as failing them. They canít take care of themselves. If I donít fill the water bowl they go thirsty, if I donít fill the food bowls they go hungry, if I donít give them a bedtime treatÖ.they stare at me with big sad doggie eyes until I feel I should apologize for being such a failure as a parent!
So, hereís my challengeÖcan I treat myself like I do my pets? Love myself enough to eat the best food, get plenty of exercise and find those sunny patches on the floor to take a nap now and then? Iím going to give it a shot. And I know Iíll have at least 4 partners who will be ecstatically supportive about my new walking regimen!

Great blog, and you will do it!
There's nothing like an enthusiastic walking partner to keep you motivated. Having 4 makes it all the better!!

You deserve to be treated like your dogs! Go for it.
P.S. If I could find a sunny patch on the floor, I'd love to curl up for a good nap, lol!
