New Goals...

Sunday, January 20, 2013

I have reset my Goal for my Best Friends Wedding... Noot really happen but to be at my goal by then was getting unrealistic...So although it hurts it was time to reset..So By Sept 19- 245 which is 70 pounds in 8 mths which is 2 pds a week. That will be a loss of over 100 pds... i think that is awesome...Right?
And we have set a Tenative Date for our Wedding .... August 30, 2014. So that gives me 9 mths to be at goal for my own wedding... 50-60 pds.... In total 160 pd loss...WOW
I will never be this weight again and i swear to do what ever necessary to get it off and keep it off.....

You're wise to be realistic about your goals. Sometimes that means resetting them as I have done once already too. It's all okay and sure is better than beating ourselves up when we aren't successful because we're expecting too much of ourselves. A 100 lb weight loss is totally awesome.
Keep pushing.

I totally feel the way you feel right now like am not doing enough. I do 10 minutes of excercises three days a week right now. Starting off small. Don't worry 10-20 minutes of exercise is better than nothing at all. Keep at it thats what am doing and am feeling better for it already. emoticon

I love the gym too. I often have a hard time working out at home because of the same reasons...I get bored, I can't push myself as much, the dogs get in the way.
Try doing circuits...this often helps me.
1 minute of jumping jacks
1 minute of crunches
1 minute plank

Pick some fun things you like to do and tell yourself you have to do it for a minute.

I don't know if you find this to be true about yourself but I have come to the following conclusion about myself. I also do very well when I attend fitness classes or even just go out to the gym or pool for my fitness. I rock my minutes and work out hard. However, at home I just am not motivated to do workouts. I seem to need a specific place where I focus on my exercise routine. I've even concluded that getting my own treadmill or other piece of equipment is likely not the best strategy for me. What I am doing is working and why mess with it. We're just not all the same and this is what I have learned about myself. Just thought I'd share so you can consider another angle.
Keep up the great things you are doing and don't let them slide because of this one area of motivation that you're lacking. It's easy to let this little slip override all the successes and to loose motivation elsewhere. You've done well, you're doing extremely well, you are going to continue to push it and excel.

We all need that little push from time to time. I am just the opposite. I do fine at home by myself, but when I go to the gym I am so busy either talking or watching other that I dont feel I get a good workout. I know you will stay on track. You can do it.

I'm the same way. Once I'm at the gym, I'm fine, but my fitness video has been waiting for a month for me to finally use it. It's way too cold today to go anywhere, so I could work out at home, but I'm just having a hard time doing it. Maybe your post will give me the motivation.

I think you've gotten some great advice. When I married my husband his three children were already adults, so my only experience has been as a step grandmother which has been great. I do agree with the others, your step daughter is an adult. Concentrate on your future husband and give advice only when asked.

I am a step mother to 3 girls. They are now 3 beautiful successful women with their own families. As a step mother, I let the biological father and mother handle things. I was the built in friend for the girls. I listened to them and took them places and just was a friend to them. A 19 year old is an adult. All you can do is be there for your husband, don't get caught in the middle.

I am sorry that this is stressing you so much. Prayers and hugs

As a step-parent it is best to try to stay out of these things. It is REALLY hard to, especially when you see your spouse hurting, but talk about it with your spouse behind closed doors and try not to tell your step-daughter what to do. Teenagers are rebellious by nature. They do need *some* structure and firmness, but at the same time they're trying to learn how to be independent, which is why they rebel. The best thing any parent can do during this time is to make sure their child knows that they can always come home (or that they're loved) if anything ever happens. I wish you the best of luck. Teenage years are not easy. And I know I certainly challenged my parents too! But ultimately, parents cannot fail as long as their children feel loved and supported unconditionally.

down a bit.....

Wednesday, January 09, 2013

i need to learn a lesson that just doing what i am doin is not enough anymore. I to be down a lot more everyweek than this quarter every week. i know down is down but in order to met my goal that is just not good enough anymore. So i need to figure out how to get moving and get dropping more.
Maybe going 85-15... 85 healthy eating and 15 snacks and treats or cheats. and i must add more running and more moving. i detest winter walking though but the treadmill at the gym is always an option. i should go to the gym a few minutes before class and walk.
The gym is going to be offering a R30(30 min Ride) class at the end of the month. I shall try it too. what the heck gotta get moving somehow.
Always open to any suggestions that anyone my have as to ways to get moving and different exercises to try.
Heres what i am doing right now. 3 days a week at the gym...they consist of 2 Power(weight) classes a week, 1 Groove(cardio) class a week, 2 Centergy(yoga/pilates) classes, and 1 Active (cardio, weight and stretch) class. Plus i do 20 minutes of exercise at home everyday and a 5 minute of running( all i can do at the moment).
i have a tight schedule after 5(i work til then) is when i am at the gym and exercise. So ideas and how to incoporate into my day my help.

Sounds like you are doing really good in your daily exercising - especially fitting it into your life & busy schedule. I echo the entry above by Fusionfitness - to walk/ move a little more whenever you can. When I watch TV in the evening, I do kicks, squats, etc., during commercials in addition to other, longer sessions earlier in the day. Hang in there - like you said, 'down is down' even if slower than you'd like! emoticon

I've noticed that a number of people choose to walk during their lunch or coffee breaks. Is this even option for you?
I've also seen various challenges for adding movement into the day which resemble these types of ideas? Perhaps you're already using them. Marching while you do dishes, walking while on the telephone, doing x number of wall push ups after using the restroom, and any creative way you can think of.
All the best.

Deservidly so....lesson learned no more breaks from the gym anymore. i truly enjoy my gym time. i get the freedom to be free and carefree...let loose and just give it hell. i plan to focus on getting bigger more consistent losses. i have so many thoughts in my head that i get overwhelmed with al that i want to do. gonna have to write them down as i think of them. you cant hit a home run if you dont know where to hit.

Your body is wanting you to get to the gym. Remember to never increase by more than 10% or so to make sure you don't hurt yourself. Best of luck
