I jogged!

Thursday, February 06, 2014

Over the past few weeks of beginning this journey I've transitioned from walking on my treadmill for 30 mins 3 times per week to now 30 minutes 6 times per week. I'm slowly moving up in speed as well. And last night, I jogged! Okay it wasn't for long, but I fit in about 5 spurts of jogging into my 30 mins and I was soooo proud of myself. I had visions of my healthy future and it put a great big smile on my face.

One of my favourite sayings is 'Comparison is the thief of joy'. I've stopped comparing myself to anyone else. I look at other people's stories as inspiration, instead of comparing them to where I am now. The only comparison I make is to myself 3 weeks ago. I am not that person anymore. I am a person with hope and a future. Looking forward to celebrating each little bit of progress along the way.

Great thanks to everyone on Spark for their support! :)

My First Mental Hurdle

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Well my success is not necessarily showing on the scale this week, and so this will be my first mental hurdle. Spark shows me as being another pound down, but really it was more like 1/2 a pound. i'm putting it down to all the joys that come with that time of the month (sorry for tmi!), and am sure my efforts will show on the scale next week.

I've significantly cut back on sugar and processed foods and feel better and more energetic then I have in a long time. I've also started implementing exercise this week and so far so good. I've stuck to my commitments of tracking my food intake honestly and reading at least one Spark article and one motivational Sparkpage today. So to me, that's huge success! Continuing to look to the path forward and enjoying every minute of it. emoticon

Remember to take measurements, too. Not only is it fun to see those numbers get smaller, it also helps on those off times when the scale doesn't show a loss we were expecting.

Great job on making good choices. Let's keep this up! I am super motivated and would love to stay on up and up. emoticon emoticon

Its hard but don't let "meh" results on the scale get your down. It all adds up eventually. Keep up the great work!

Don't let the scale get you down.

You can't control the scale, but you can control whether or not you stick with the program. If you stick with it, the scale will eventually reflect your increasing healthy body! Energy is a great way to observe your progress.

You're doing great!
