Of course, I can't agree with the entire list, because it's YOUR list, not mine. But I loved the concept and agreed with a lot of them. Thanks so much for sharing and encouraging us to think about what might be on our own personal lists.

Oops. Sorry I forgot kitties. lol I never had a cat. The bipolar thing is always confusing, but I would put myself through anything to avoid hurting others, though it seems it doesn't always go smooth. Thanks for the feedback. Many blessings to you. HUGS

I would add that cats are family also.

And as for your bipolar disorder, I can understand wanting the high of the highs since that would be exhilarating, but unfortunately bipolar people have been known to believe things that aren't so in their delusions and may end up hurting those that really love them. The question is - what is more important, the highs or not hurting those that love you?

I'm with you guys, girls...Halloween celebrates Satan in my view and I want nothing to do with it. Fortunately, our Bible study was tonight and I wasn't around for the kids...I also trick or treated as did our kids. I think i'm looked at as a weirdo but PTL! Thanks for sharing all! emoticon

Our church throws a costume party with the rule of 'no scary costumes'. They call it a fall family costume party. The youth, when they go out in the neighborhood don't collect candy; they collect food items for the food bank instead. I think it's a good alternative. Thanks for reading and for the feedback.

PATTYCAKE17 - Sounds like you had fun at your pizza party. You can't go wrong with pizza! lol Blessings to you. HUG

Thanks for sharing. I know we've always apprecaited having a church that has a party so we can have an alternative where the gospel is presented and kids are encouraged to spend time with their parents and siblings and play games. Such a different atmosphere than the dark, fear-inducing things that others celebrate and/or worship. It's a shame even the schools make it all about the ghosts and witches.
I'm not sure how it makes any sense to introduce young children to things that produce fear and yet God, whose perfect love casts out fear, is so taboo in the public school. Such is the world we live in.

As a Christian I don't believe in celebrating Halloween, but during my work years as a recreation therapist I always helped my clients celebrate, and as the president of a handicapped organization, I put on a party because it's something that the others enjoy. We don't "get into it", but dress up, and this year the main event was our Pizza Party luncheon. I think most people just enjoy the fun aspects of the day without really believing"in it" or what it represents. And I ALWAYS have candy for the kids!!Thanks for the opportunity to talk about it. emoticon

Very good! I haven't participate in Halloween activities for years. I would rather celebrate Jesus and anything remotely connected to Satan and his evil, dark side.

Kasey, it's been a lot of years since I've celebrated Halloween. Even before I was a practicing Christian, I stopped celebrating it. Many blessings to you. HUGS.

I admit it: if I have an unfavorite holiday, it's Halloween. I can see the sense in observing All Saints' Day, and I can even understand All Souls' Day, but the sense of Halloween beats me. Having said that, I feel like the Halloween Grinch - but I still only participate on my terms, lol...
