The Book that Shocked the Nations

Saturday, October 20, 2012

Hi Friends:

It's been a while since I've posted a blog. I've been SUPER busy getting ready for my first speaking engagement next week. I'm getting very excited.

Well, here's my next post called 'The Book that Shocked the Nations'. What is the title of that Book? Can you guess before clicking the link to read the blog? It's a shocker whether you're a Christian or NonChristian.

EVELYN = Evelyn, you are so right. We are called to pray continually. I think about that all the time. I often wonder how much I lack on doing that. I think we all fall asleep on the job for that task. But, God is good. He loves us even when we're sleeping! Many blessings to you my friend. HUGS.

I usually don't get over to this team's posts, but so glad I did this morning. I hit delete b/c my inbox has almost 500 e-mails and the GOOD AND WISE LORD took me here instead. I was intrigued by the title of your blog, and so encouraged by the comments mentioning the ongoing conversation with God being an ongoing prayer, bringing Him into every aspect of my life. I never thought that was good enough, as I should have some "official" time of prayer every day, but I don't, and felt "guilty" b/c of it. So I intend to subscribe to your blog and stay in touch with this team. Wow! A great start to this Sunday morning! God bless you emoticon emoticon

-- The DISCIPLES fell asleep while praying.

If we stay in relationship with Christ the way requests of us, we would all fall asleep while praying. The apostle Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5:17: “pray continually” -- When you have this running conversation with God, then every event, every frustration, every conversation, every difficulty, every worry, every decision and every part of your life is lived while you are with God!

I praise God for such a complete compilation of books in the Bible to make my life complete! Enjoyed your blog! Hug, hug -- Evelyn

Why All or Nothing is Everything!

Tuesday, September 25, 2012

Next time you think you can pick & choose parts to accept and leave out the rest, maybe you should be truly paying attention to what you are rejecting. Sometimes all or nothing is everything. You see... some things, if you don't choose ALL, you've lost everything! Not everything has shades of grey. Here's what I figured out about how this applies to God's Word... it's not a fairy tale!

SOMNAMBULIST - Anything that we are not sure of in God's Word, we are to just ask Him to clarify it, and He will certainly do that. I hope that I've helped you explore something. Many blessings to you. Hugs.

Kasey - sorry it's taken me so long to reply. I'm happy that I made you think. Maybe one day I'll be shown an error in my logic, or maybe not. It's just the way the whole situation seemed to be to me. I'm learning as I go. The person that I used to go to for advice before I posted something, I don't have anymore. So I'm kinda wining it now. lol Many blessings to you.

    Lovely photograph--!

In this case, I'm not sure I agree with everything you said, because regardless of the source of original scripture, through the years there have been many all-too-human translators, and therein lies the question, to me. If you say "But God touched the translators, and they were divinely inspired to word the translation precisely how God wanted it," fair enough. Then, tho, it begs to question - who can say that God has not inspired me to derive this or that meaning from what has been translated?

Sometimes it seems to come down to angels dancing on a pin. But as always, Carley, you have definitely given me food for thought--!
