Start of the 5% Summer Challenge

First day of summer and first day of the challenge. This week we're headed to Rio de Janeiro and tracking water. That's my beverage of choice so I know I'll do fine with the LTGL points.
Planning to log at least 60 minutes of exercise daily; as time permits I'll try for more.

Today was weigh-in and calculations. I'm only 7.2 pounds away from my goal weight. That's 4.77%. So to reach my goal by August 16th, I will have to lose .9 pound/week.

Off to a good start and doing quite well today! See you in Rio! emoticon

The challenge of the challenge

The last day of the eight week challenge.

For me, the most challenging part of the 5% spring challenge was tracking my nutrition. I did fine with it the week it was the LTGL. But my streak fell apart when that was over. I've been on a plateau with the weight and lack of tracking certainly has to be part of the cause.

Now I'm on Day 2 of a new streak and plan to get it going again.

I'm a little sad that the challenge is ending, but it won't be long before the summer challenge starts!

    You will get it back together. Tracking to me is the single most important thing I do, it is second nature to me now and I stay within my range almost with out thinking. My downfall is exercise. It is so hot now I need to wait until late afternoon, pretty soon the time goes by ant it is too late. Terrible excuse I know.

I've participated in these challenges since last fall and they're definately a fun way to get fit and lose weight with the support of some great team members.
Team members work towards losing 5% of their starting weight in 8 weeks by participating in team challenges that focus on exercise & healthy lifestyle habits.

Outdoor time!

It was a great day to work outdoors. Garden is all tilled and partially planted. Yay! Looking forward to those fresh vegetables! emoticon

Also spent three hours mowing lawn for the first time this season. Riding mower, so not much exercise there. Even so, I'm exhausted and will sleep well tonight! emoticon

    This is the end of our growing season, we can plant again in late September or October. I live in a condo now and miss my garden, I think I will join our newly formed community garden in the fall and start again. Good job with the garden, it is great exercise and look at all the 'free' food.

    I enjoy gardening and yard work. Gives you a feeling of accomplishment to see the results of your efforts in a nicely kept yard and garden.
