A winner is......

Whew...it's Monday and it took EVERYTHING in me to make it to bootcamp this morning...but I DID make it....since I was the lone ranger for about 20 minutes I spent that time on the elliptical talking to Amanda...

She had her competition this weekend and she didn't place....she wasn't bummed out or anything and was quite glad for the learning experience...she only had 5 weeks of hard training whereas it normally requires a 12-20 week commitment because of the phases they go through (muscle build up, etc.)...there is another competition in August that she is going to do...she starts training this week and Big Sexy will be helping her out....(I swear he should be in the competition himself...he could hold his own I'm sure up there)....

Kendra (another trainer at the gym) won her competition and she came in this morning and brought her trophy up there...she is leaving it at the gym because of all the support and encouragement she got.....and there were a LOT of gym members that came out to the competition and supported everyone....I believe there were 4 people from the gym total in the competition and they all placed...except Amanda....but that's ok...she is a winner in our book!!!

She said she knows she needs to put on some more muscle (she is small) and she said she knew she wasn't going to win or place because all the women they selected to move on to the final round had fake boobs....lol!!! I don't think they should be allowed to really "compete" because they aren't building up their natural muscles/body but hey, I guess that's why I'm not a judge....Kendra was in the "figure" competition and she is built.....I thought that was her first competition but she is classified as a "pro".....

But everyone should be proud of themselves...it takes courage and a lot of confidence to get up on a stage in a roomful of people and strut your stuff for judgment!!!

Bootcamp was biceps/back this morning and we finished up with a couple of interval sets....a good, steady workout...I plan to hit Body Pump tonight...

The week begins....

Not much going on today...just a nice, relaxing and lazy Sunday...my mom is still in Chicago and everyone else was off doing their thing...so I just hung out, cleaned up and got ready for this week....

I also got up and went to the gym....I did 75 minutes on the treadmill...I did intervals and burned 560 calories(according to the treadmill)....I need to invest in a HRM that counts calories....the one that I have is the base model so it just shows my HR.....I'll look into the different one that Polar has and see what works for me...I don't want to spend a lot of money on one though...

This week I plan to do bootcamp (of course) and also I want to do 3 days of cardio (intervals on the treadmill/elliptical)...that sounds like a whole lot of "gym" time....so we'll see...maybe I can get to the gym a couple of times during my lunch....hmmmm....

    You never can trust what the machines say, : /. I never have - really. I just workout hard and long and that's good enough for me. Of course though, I just track what they say usually, haha.

(listening to Culture Club as I type this)

As I said yesterday, there was a chance that Amanda was taking today off from bootcamp to focus on her competition this weekend and was gonna send her husband in her place....I was a little nervous about it..you know scared of the unknown....well Amanda DID come this morning....she had a new client that was coming after our bootcamp and so she had to be there anyway...Tony (the lone guy in the class) didn't even bother to come because he thought Scott was gonna be there training us....lol....now that's what his WIFE told us...she is in the bootcamp too.....he(Tony) has also been having issues with his asthma so that was a factor too.....

Jerome ("Big Sexy"...the owner of the gym) came in with a surgical mask on....lol...he is expanding the gym and I guess all the dust from the back area is messing with his sinus'....I guess that is a small price to pay for growing and expanding your business!!!! But he looked like he should have had an IV gurney with him...waking up that early to come to the gym when you are sick and probably should be in bed is enough to make anyone look that tired and drained...poor thing...with his sexy a**.....LOL!!!!

Today we worked arms/shoulders so we were on the circuit equipment and did push ups, mountain climbers, planks and a few other things before moving to the cardio equipment...I was on elliptical and Amanda made me raise my incline to 20 to do intervals....ahhh...lovely intervals....nothing else to say about that except I didn't even know the machine would go that high....lol!!!!!

This is the water that I bring with me to work everyday....it's about 10 or 11 cups of water and I drink it all before I get off....someone asked me if I actually drank all that..."why yes I do"....I mean, why else would I bring it? We don't have a water monitor at work that requires us to drink water so I wouldn't be lugging it up here everyday if I didn't intend on drinking it, right? LOL....

In all honesty, I drink on one on my way to bootcamp and drink the rest during class...so that's four cups gone before I even get to work....then I sip on another one until lunch....then I take a small break and then I work on the other during the afternoon....yes, it's A LOT of water and there was a time where I couldn't (or wouldn't) even drink 4 cups of water in a day then I got challenged by MRSFARRAND(love her!!) to drink more...and so I did..slowly but surely building up over time to where I can drink all this comfortably and without really thinking about it....consistency, right?

I don't run to the restroom all the time but I did when I first increased my water intake...now my body is "use" to it and acts accordingly...I use to have Crystal Light in some water but now it's plain (today I did squirt a little lemon juice in them to give a little flavor)...I'm proud of me for getting to this point....

Anywho, we did cardio/abs in bootcamp this morning....Amanda said she might not be there in the morning...she wants to "rest" before her competition this weekend and I can understand that...she and Kendra (another trainer) have been coming to the gym at 4 am to get some cardio, etc. in so she said she might send Scott, her hubby, in the morning to train us....I'm sooooooo NOT READY for him but we have arms/shoulders tomorrow so maybe it won't be THAT bad...lol!!!

We'll see!!!

    love you nrew background. it makes me fee like spring is really in the air. man your trainers sound so amazing. i wish i had the support that you have. all i have is my BL vidoes and spark. its so much harder to do this alone. my water intake is ok. its up and down and nothing consisitent. it used to be that hubby and i would have water challenges to spark us but now with so many hours apart we just dont have that anymore.

anyway, congrats to you and your progress. you rock!

    I don't know what I would do without my water!! It never was an issue with me, except I had to have Crystal Light in at least half of it. Now it's just plain water, about 10-12 cups a day. I wouldn't even consider drinking less than that because this works for me.
