Well I didn't get to the gym yesterday as I had planned so I'll be hitting it twice as hard today..

There was an expected terrible line of storms that were SUPPOSE to starting right when I got off work and I didn't want to go to the gym (by my job) and then get stuck in that traffic..plus I realized I hadn't taken anything out to cook for dinner so I needed to stop by the grocery store!

With that in mind, I decided that I would just go to the gym at my apt. complex (across from my apt) and get my workout in!

Needless to say that there were NO storms, only a quick rain shower so I went to the store and then home where I was gonna just fix a turkey burger and some sweet potatoe fries and then head to the apt. gym....didn't happen!

My good friend's birthday was yesterday so she called and wanted to go out to eat and get a drink (that was nothing but the emoticon) so I said "sure". I don't like eating past 7 but she didn't get to my house until 7:30 ish...(now I did eat a small bowl of cereal while waiting on her so I wouldn't overeat at the restaurant)...

When we got to the place, her coworker ordered some ONION RINGS for the table..(damn emoticon)..but I must say I only ate 1 (plus they were cold so that helped..lol)...I knew I was still way under my calorie total for the day so I ordered a steak, plain baked potato and green beans....

I only ate HALF of the steak and potato but all the green beans...I love green beans..so I came in at 1298 calories for the day which is the low end of my calorie range...I will be at the gym today after work so I will be increasing my calories today...but I am really proud of myself...I LOVE this restaurant and could have easily cleaned my plate!

By the way, the TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR did occur while we at the place so we had to sit there until it slacked up...good thing I was ready to go home or else I would have ordered a dessert ( emoticon)!

    Aaaah, friends and restaurants! That gets so difficult but I think it's really commendable that you went out to eat and were still able to stay within your calorie range. It can be hard picking a healthy item off a restaurant menu. Keep it up! emoticon

Why did you have to go make such a lovely piece of technology? I am absolutely loving my iPhone...sure it doesn't forward text messages, etc. but I can live with that considering you can do any and everything else with it!

But that iTunes store is the devil emoticon!! I have to REALLY watch myself on there on else I'd download everything and be broke in the process! I have purchased a few songs/videos and this weekend I downloaded "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"....it was only $4.99 and I loved this movie!

So I was watching it yesterday while I was on the treadmill and I looked down and realized I had been on there for 50 mins straight....on an incline....no breaks, no slowing down the speed, etc...I was just going strong watching a movie!

So damn you APPLE for keeping me mesmerized while working out..that just ain't right and you should be ashamed of yourself! emoticon

    Girl I want that dang on Iphone so bad..I need a suga daddy lol. I have a samsung p2 which is identical to the ipod touch..so I can watch movies..lemme find out I should add movies lol

Now you know Apple don't play, when they make something it's to get you hooked, I don't have an Iphone, but I do have an Ipod and I LOVE it. I haven't used it while working out yet (been doing videos) but I will be hitting the treadmill soon and I know the Devil will be busy, trying to get all my money.

Look at it this way, at least you are putting your purchases to good use!!!!!

I say enjoy it!!!!!

My Brita Water Pitcher....

I normally buy loads of bottled water and yesterday I decided to go get a Brita Water Pitcher so I could stop spending money on bottled water especially since I am drinking much more these days...

Well, I went to Target and they actually had them on sale so I'll just refill my plastic bottle with that. Today I am drinking the water from it and I must say it is better than I expected. I know it is a "filter" but I was still expecting some kind of nasty taste since it's tap water and we all know how marketing campaigns can lie about things!!!!

I am done with my bottle which puts me at 5 glasses of water at 3 pm emoticon!!!!! I still have to go to the gym when I get off so that will be more water and then there's dinner...I may just make my 10 glass daily threshold!!

I hope I can keep this one going...me and drinking water have not had the best relationship in the past!!!

    Okay ladies I'm going to stop to Target on my way home (if I leave now) and get one. I've been debating on purchasing one since I too spend a lot on bottled water. Thanks for sharing.

    I love my Brita pitcher. I usually buy bottled water and then fill the bottles up again from my pitcher. I think that the filtered water tastes better than my bottled water. I take 4 16 oz bottles to work since I don't like the water there. Now I don't have any trouble getting enough water in a day. Hope you have the same results!

Another week...

I weighed in this morning and lost another 2 lbs!!! (probably would have been more if I hadn't eaten that fried chicken last night...lol..oh well)....I am pretty excited abt my 2 lbs though so I'll just take them and keep going!

This week my goals are:
**Aim for at least 10 glasses of water a day!
**Exercise every day this week (except Fri./Sat.)...start including strength training
**Continue to avoid sodas emoticon
**Avoid fried foods(except on cheat day)
**Increase daily fruit/veggie intake(easier said than done)

That's enough to concentrate on for this week...If I meet all my goals, then I'll add to them next week!!!

To cheat or not to cheat??

That is my question this weekend....

Everyone knows that you are suppose to reward yourself when you are changing your diet...totally eliminating something will only cause more cravings and could eventually derail progress so you are suppose to allow yourself some indulgences from time to time...

Saturdays are going to be my "designated" cheat day (not too bad though) but since I just started again on this journey, I wonder if it is too soon to start "cheating"....so far, I am still under my calories and I have eaten breakfast, lunch and a snack (bowl of cereal)...for dinner I was going to go to a fast food place and get some ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS chicken tenders, fries and a drink....I know, I know.... emoticon

Dinner is a ways off so I may change my mind...we'll see but that fried food sure is calling my name(and thighs, stomach, arteries, etc)....

On another note, I went to the gym at my complex last night (first time) and they didn't have a treadmill(bummer) but they did have an elliptical so I got on there for 30 mins. I would have lasted longer but it was HOT in there...I cut on the a/c but couldn't hang around long enough for it to kick in...oh well... emoticon

    I suggest not to do the food rewards. I am doing the clothes/shoes/electronics/makeup/pu
rse reward thing. It'll only inflate my ego..not waist lol. Find healthy alternatives to your faves..baked fried chicken tenders..bake your french fries longer so they are extra crunchy lol..make some homemade strawberry lemonade

    I totally feeling you on the reward factor of it. But i have decided to forgo the food rewards, and reward my self with other things. When i reach my 20 mark.....i am going to splurge and by my self a totally fabulous bag!
