Good intentions+no action=no results!!!!

Um, I did NOT get up this morning to complete the Shred...that WAS my intention but I was totally tired from my 75 minute Total Conditioning class last night...class was more crowded than normal as there were a lot of new faces there...so that means it was HOT in there....I don't know about anyone else but I need to be comfortable (i.e, have room to move, have nice temperature, etc.)...I pressed on with the class though...I think a lot of the folks were feeling "energy zapped" because Mark kept making us repeat reps because we weren't "counting" loud..or at all on some exercises...lol...

My plan for this evening is to do the Shred and then go to the gym to do an hour of cardio...I like the DVD thus far (only on day 2) but the exercises are not hard to do...they are challenging and you do have to push yourself, but that's what we want right? Level 1 is only 20 minutes and goes by pretty fast...I will need to buy some heavier free weights..I have some 5 lbs weights but I think I can move up a little since I use 8 lbs in my gym class...I'm not sure how long it's suppose to take to see results but I'll just keep working at it since I spent my money...lol



But I think the name of this blog is aptly titled...I can not keep "intending" on doing something and not following through and then wondering why I am not seeing the type of progress I want...now, don't get me wrong, I am not nowhere as bad as I was but I could do better in some areas...

So I must get up out the bed in the morning and do the Shred or else I'll have to do it in the evening...and I don't want to...I want to do it before work to jump start my metabolism, have a good eating day and then workout in the evening....then at least I will KNOW that I have done some exercises that morning in case something happens in the evening to prevent me from going to the gym...I plan to use the DVD as a supplement to my fitness...

So I have to start going to bed at a decent time so I can get some sleep...I am not the type of person that can get into the bed and just fall asleep...I can lay there for a while wide awake listening to music or watching Family Guy (Love Stewie!!) and be lazy when my alarm goes off for me to get up and exercise, like this morning... emoticon

I CAN DO THIS!!!!

    Sometimes you have to listen to your body and if it's tired you have to take it easy otherwise you may hurt yourself. You have so much determination that I am sure you will manage to do whatever you decide. Just you keep up the good work.

    hey you are doing a good job! the fact that you even committed to this is amazing. you are not going to be perfect. this is a learning process. i am so pleased that you took this on. you are fearless chica. love it.

ok - lets make shred hard for you. wish i was there to work out with you because i yell at my friends and tell them to bend squat lower, jump higher, dont skip out on reps, more intensity in the jumping jack. no pausing. continue to do more in the movement.

cant wait to hear more. also listen to the words that jill says. never cutt her off at the end. i want her to be my therapist!

Shredding along.....

I was off work today so I got up and did Level 1 of the 30 Day Shred..then I ate breakfast, showered, and went over to my mom's...I am going to my Total Conditioning class this evening as well...if I can drag myself out of bed in the morning, I will do the Shred before getting ready for work...the segment is only 20 mins and I was able to keep up pretty well...

Some of it are the same things that we do in the class I am going to tonight so that's a good thing...I was sweating and stuff and I was glad I did it without stopping the dvd and watching tv...I'm not sure how long I will stay with Level 1 or if you need to do all 3 levels in 30 days to see the "changes" it promises...so I'll stay with Level 1 for this week and go from there....

I think working out in the morning will jump start my metabolism (even though this extreme heat zaps it as soon as I settle down)...my eating has been good today, no sodium overloads....and my water is on target as well...

That's it for now...gotta get ready for class...

    Girl, you are gonna be fine! Looks like you had a pretty good weekend. Atleast you can bounce back on track and identify your faults also. I am working on getting to where you are, so just dust it off and try again!!!!!!

A calorie driven weekend....oops!!!

My weekend was "iffy" on the calories..well, more like overloaded!!!

I had 3 "eating out" events this weekend and although I tried to contain any possible damage, I didn't do a good job...but I wasn't TOTALLY off the charts...I hope!!

So in the words of Usher (or "URSHER" as he has been called in the south) this is "MY CONFESSION"...

Friday night a friend and I went out to Razoo's...I had the fried pickles for an appetizer (didn't eat them all), I then had the Cajun Chicken Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans...but because there is no nutritional menu online (one that I could find), I don't really know what the damage was but I am sure it was high sodium wise(btw, I only ate half of it..I ate the other half for dinner the next night)...oh yeah, I ate some Brownie Sundae for dessert...

On to Saturday, I had Chili's as I mentioned before and totally MESSED UP my sodium intake for the day...my 2 little Mini Buffalo Chicken Crisper Sandwiches were over 2000 mgs of sodium..not to mention the fries...and that was MY LUNCH..I ate the rest of my Razoo's for dinner so who knows the total damage for yesterday...

Today wasn't bad...I had Boston Market for dinner but I had a ham sandwich and some chips for lunch...I am over my sodium range AGAIN..and this is not good with TOM lurking around the corner...

The saving grace in all of this is that my water intake has been great, no less than 12 cups a day and I have been eaten a sensible breakfast and snacks...oh yeah, I didn't exercise either...with all the ripping and running I was doing, I didn't feel like it...so I didn't...

I will be back on track in the morning....with the food and with the workouts...I actually missed going to the gym but sometimes laziness gets the best of us...I probably won't weigh in this week since TOM is due any moment..which probably explains the high sodium intake...

Yeah, I could have eaten salads all weekend but I didn't want them...lol...

Anywho, this week's model will be Mel. B...she has an absolutely amazing body for someone who has two kids...I love her personality as well...she has great energy and I applaud her ambitious nature!!!

You go girl!!

    Well sounds like you enjoyed your weekend! :-D I ate more than I expected to also... BUT today is a new day and yesterday doesn't matter. Move forward and do your best to make better choices today. Don't try to work out 20 hours to make up for the weekend because you will just feel burned out. Luckily THIS IS A JOURNEY! And we do not have to be perfect! :-D maybe try to think of some ways to make healthier choices in the future if you go out again... but we only have one life to live. Mel B looks AMAZING!

That's right...this Special K Chocolate Drizzle is wonderful!!! This is the 3rd one of the cereal line that I have tried and I have liked them all..my only complaint is that there isn't enough fiber per serving...and for them to have a Special K Challenge where you substitute two meals for their products, I would think they would have a better fiber ratio....(my public svc announcement for the evening)...

My eating was not good today...not because I ate badly...I ate cereal for breakfast and then met some friends from church at Chili's for lunch...HUGE MISTAKE...I had the Mini Buffalo Chicken Bites/Fries and totally blew my sodium intake for the day...those 2(that's right...2) little sandwiches have over 2000 mgs of salt!!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!

I KNOW I could have gotten a salad but I needed something heavier since I knew I would have a light snack and dinner...but c'mon...that should be illegal!!!

BUT I won't sweat it..I have drank about 15 cups of water today so hopefully I have reversed any bad effect...I didn't need the sodium especially since TOM is right around the corner...

I will be at the gym tomorrow and plan to watch this Shred DVD so I can see how it is set up and how I am going to work it into my overall fitness routine...I also purchased some Body Glider today so I can begin jogging/running on the treadmill...I really hope it helps!!!

Oh well..enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

I am the proud new owner of...



That's right..I OWN AN EXERCISE DVD...someone that does not like working out at home has stepped outside the box and will try it...now I have to figure out when I will work it into my schedule...I'm THINKING I will do it before work and then go to the gym in the evening...I don't want to stop going to the gym because I may not go back...lol

I went to the gym last night to the BARBELL STRENGTH class..it was only an hour but it was a WORKOUT...my arms/shoulders are REALLY feeling it...the class wasn't crowded and was all women...we worked the entire body out and I am glad I got 2 days of strength training in this week...I will be doing this on a regular basis and with Jillian I should be whipped into shape...

I lost 1.5 lbs so I am halfway done with my goal (3 lbs) for this month...I am a little worried because I have a few eating out plans this weekend so I'll have to be extra careful...oh well...I CAN DO THIS!!!

I am off today and about to go run errands!!

    Hey lady, let me know how the workout DVD is!! I am happy for you on the weight loss. Girl, I am not stepping on a scale right now, I am just gonna try to do it without dealing with the scale at this point. I tend to get easily discouraged!
