I have a busy day for Saturday already...I volunteered for our church anniversary this year and we are having a Community Block Party, which means a LOT OF WALKING for me...we'll have vendors, health care, kids areas, food, etc....I don't know where I'll be stationed, which basically means that I will be all over the place!

I am going to a book release of my friends has written and published a book of his poetry so we are going out to support him....this is normally my laundry night....BUT it's for a good

That's it for now...My "Fit, Fab and 40" model today is Donna Richardson Joyner...she is a fitness guru and has some Body Gospel DVDs that are out and very popular...she is in her 50s....

What is your POWER SONG?

If you listen to music while working out, what is your POWER SONG? That would be the one song that gets you going or pushes you a little further...I normally would listen to anything upbeat for my cardio time and since I am trying to become a jogger/runner, I'm trying to pay more attention to my breathing, form, etc. while on the treadmill....

So this morning, I hit the gym before work and a song by My Morning Jacket (that's the name of the band) came on....I have it on my iPhone thanks to an episode of American Dad where the dad became obsessed with this band...otherwise, I would have never heard of, the song is called "Touch Me I'm Going to Scream" and it's about 8 minutes it starts off slow, then builds up and then slows back down...perfect for warm up, brisk nonstop jog/run and then cool down/slow down pace.....I tried it this morning and tagged it as my "Power Song" on my Nike + app....I am creating a playlist for "running" so I will find more songs that are a little longer than normal but have a good rhythm to help me with my pace....

After the gym, I had to go to the doctor to have more blood drawn...I was diagnosed as Vitamin D deficit in August so I've been taking supplements...had to get myself rechecked....also, during the conversation with my doctor, he asked about my weight loss and I told him that I hadn't lost anything even with consistent work outs so he told me that I need to increase my strength training/weights because I might have a low metabolic rate and no matter how much cardio I do or how much fat I drop, if I'm not building my muscles/bones I'll stall on the scale.....I must admit, I don't do enough I am going to tweak things to get that in....

But that's about all for "Fab, Fit and 40" model today is my girl, Madonna....yeah, she is WAY past 40 but her body is rocking....she has always been fit and it's very good to see her still in shape after all this time.....and she is a YOGA BEAST....whew!!

    I have to admit I don't have a song that gets me going. I usually just run playing IHEART RADIO or PANDORA. However, when a grooving beat comes on it does make me pep up my step.

I LOVE ST. Girl, I have had the best results with the 5-6 days a week program I am doing right now. I am worried that once I complete it what will I do to continue to get the burn and shrinkage I am getting right now. I have shrunk 5 inches since I began this program about 2 months ago. The scale doesn't reflect that, but truthfully for the first time in my life I DON'T CARE! So, definitely beef up those muscles girl.

    Oh Miss Madonna,She is a vegan, and really is into fitness and health and well living. Even if she was a little nutty back then. She was the one to watch when I was a young girl growing up. I love her style, and always will.

As for your ? My power house song is by EVE.. Let me Blow ya mind. I love it. I think I love Gwen the most. But I love the song, and the beat of it. That song is my warm up song, and then I move into. Janet Jackson Feed Back. Everything has to be up beat for me. No sad dragging songs for me. I hear a slow jam I want to sit down and rest. If the beat is popping. I'm popping with the beat. One of my instructors asked me. How on earth do you dance on a stepper. I do not know, but as I be stepping on the stepper at the gym. The stair stepper.. I be dancing, and I have one at home, so I guess I got it down pat from doing my stair workout at home.

Oh, and I also love Lauryn hill. Everything is Everything...
The after the winter must come spring. Is my cool down song. So, I have time listed pretty well so I can flow for a good 60mins...

At the end of every major project deployment, our department has a "release celebration"...well it's today and I don't want to's not mandatory but the managers would like to have full participation from their team...well, I don't want to are going bowling and I'm frankly tired of bowling...we go for church's not my thing so I'm thinking about not going at all....

It's not like the company is paying for anything and I'm not spending my money on it, so why go? One of my co-workers asked me if I was going and when I said "I doubt it" she mentioned that our manager just wants us all to hang response could have been "I hung out with yall azzes on yesterday at the offsite meeting....that was good enough for me" but I didn't say

My intentions were to leave and go to the gym for some cardio(since I missed bootcamp due a migraine...) and then trying to catch Zack's 6:30 bootcamp class to put me back on track with my goal this week of hitting over 3500 calories burned...and as far as I'm concerned, that is STILL the plan....unless my manager directly asks me then I won't be there.....

Anywho, our meeting yesterday threw my eating schedule off and I couldn't get back on was during the time where I normally have my lunch so I was literally starving afterwards....that, plus eating later than normal, messed it up the rest of the day and I wasn't hungry later but got a migraine cause I hadn't eaten a proper meal....I took a couple of Alleve, had a sandwich and laid down....

But back to my overall "Fit, Fab and 40" agenda and today's, I picked our First Lady...she's taller than I am but she does take great care of herself mentally and physically...I applaud her initiative to help our youth get in better and an 8 yr old shouldn't weigh the same and I have seen too many obese YOUNG kids walking around....

Her arms aren't bad neither is her spouse!!

    So, did you give in and go! I am with you. The military is like that. We call it "mandatory fun" where they don't really directly tell you to come, but they frown on the leadership (AKA my husband) not participating. So, while I am out of town next weekend, he had to pay $60 for a Military Ball that he has to go alone to. Now I tell you, isn't that just a waste of our hard earned money????

After all my griping about not wanting to go to bootcamp last night, I did go...I was talking myself out of it because I REALLY wanted to lay on the couch and enjoy the rainy weather...not to mention, play with this new phone I I put my gym clothes on and headed out....

When I arrived, it had just started raining outside so some of the braver and quicker ones went out for the run around the mall(he has safety reflector jackets for us to wear in the nice) but some of us (me included) stayed inside and just warmed up on the HE set us up on the cross country program at a 4.5 speed...we had to keep going until the outside runners returned...

He then broke us up into groups of 3 and we had to do various exercises 3 times, then we rotated to a new area....we did this twice...then he wrapped it up with some bear claws around the gym...but that's not all...while we were "bear clawing", he would tell us to drop and do push ups...then back to crawling..then stop, roll over and do ab work....we did that twice....ahhh Zack....

I have my "regular" bootcamp tonight....and of course, I'm sititng here thinking of reasons NOT to go....I'll be there though....after all, I have a 40 yr old goal to hit....looking at one of my favorite actress', Angela Bassett, I know being fierce doesn't stop as you get older....she seems to get better...

Yep...her arms are ROCKIN'

    Oh yes, she looks great. And did she has twin some 6 to 7 years ago. Maybe I'm far off, but I know this woman looks great and I too love her arms and Regina King.. Check her's out the next time you feel up to a google search. Her arms are banging too...
She is in great shape, and I can follow her lead for the perfect body image "role model".... She's in tip top shape. And I want some of that by the time I reach 35. UGH! 35 sounds rough. Keep up the good work.... ZACK UGH! He's working you honey... Working you to skinnyville...

I thought you were having a test of wills with the 'bear claw' headline, LOL!! I've never heard of that exercise, sounds fierce!
