They both encompass what I want to be physically which is FIT, FLEXIBLE and FINE!!! (yeah, I wanna be HEALTHY primarily but that didn't fit into the "F" theme, lol)...I know very little about the second Alicia and ran across her picture when I was doing my photo search but as you can see, she isn't slacking in the fit and flexible department!

Anywho, church was GREAT this morning as it normally is....I received a wonderful and powerful word and I am looking forward to a prosperous week in all areas....

I decided that today will be my "off" day from the gym and that is fine..I need to do some lounging and relaxing today...and then tomorrow, I will hit up Katy Trail again and then go find a free yoga class to take...then off to my mom's!!! I was SUPPOSED to be out of town but when you are going with someone else, you are pretty much on their schedule...they decided not to go at the last minute so I'm here...and that's fine by me!!!!

I got up early this morning and hit up Katy Trail...I did a little over 5 miles walking/light jogging and I REALLY need to work on my running "form"....but overall I'm glad with my outing this morning...and the weather this morning was PERFECT....nice and cool...about 70 degrees!!!!

I am planning to go a little further on Monday morning..I'm not familiar with the trail so I don't know how long it really is but I would like to know...I don't have any physical activity on my agenda for tomorrow but I might hit up the apt gym for a bit...not sure yet!!!!

Anywho, enjoy the weekend and GET UP, GET OUT and DO SOMETHING!!!!

Labor Day weekend!!!

So I've been tweeting with my girl, Alicia Marie, and she gave me a few good pointers to get my fitness where I want it to be(she's my new BFF, lol...yeah right!!!)....I also read this months Oxygen Magazine (she is on cover as you can see lol) and there is an article about under eating and if that is NOT me, I don't know what is...I am not eating enough..I've known this and tried to correct it in the past but didn't REALLY do much...I've never been one to force myself to eat but there are some simple things I can do to beef up my meals and I think that will help me with the weight loss I'm seeking...

Who would have thought that under eating would be an issue??? Not me...but when I think about it, I am eating under the amount of calories I need for my workouts...so I'll be working on that this weekend!!

Did you know that Alicia was 65% deaf?? I didn't until I read her article..she lost her hearing after years of trying to be a boxer...pretty amazing to me that she didn't stop..just changed paths and she still enters (and wins) fitness competitions!!!

There is a recipe in the magazine for some cookies that I will probably try out...the cookies can be eaten PREWORKOUT and that would be great for me since I work out so early in the morning..since it's a health magazine, of course these aren't your "regular" chocolate chip cookies but they look pretty good and tasty....we'll see!!!

Workout at home that is....I tried it last night and it's just not the same for me...I guess I need an "audience" around me in order for me to be intense with it...

I tried doing some yoga last night and was completely "out of it"....I had recorded Cath Friedrich from FitTV...she has a few programs on there and until I actually find a yoga class that I can attend, I thought doing her program at home would be better than nothing....and nothing it was....talk about someone having ADD!!!

If you skip past the commercials, then the show is really only 15-20 mins anyway which is a waste of time...so my new goal is to find a way to get my stretching in at the gym...I'll get it done....

Well, today is my Friday and I can't wait for my 4 day weekend....no major plans and I haven't told anyone that I am off tomorrow, lol!!!!! Just wanna do what I want so I might go to the movies and take myself out to eat...we'll see!!!!!

Enjoying this rain and overcast...hopefully the days of 100+ temps are over....but this is Texas and we have been known to have sun, rain and snow in the same week...lol!!!

    I totally can not work out at home. I just don't get it done. At least you tried it, realized it doesn't work for you now you can move on. You just so high maintenance having to spend money on stuff. OW!! Just kidding girl. LOL

    I can never get enough of Alicia Marie pics!! I feel comfortable working out at home or in a class. Don't really have a preferance either, just whatever I am feeling that day...well, when at least I had a gym membership option. Now it's all about working out at home.

Wow...this year has ZOOMED past...already September!!??!!!

Today is my anniversary at my company...13 yrs and going strong (hopefully)...I've survived mergers, layoffs, moves, etc. and still they keep me around..guess they like me or something!

No workout today...I decided that I needed to revamp my fitness goals (yet again) so this is a perfect opportunity for me to do that...I just needed to get my plan together and I think I have done so...

I've been following Alicia Marie on Twitter and I've asked her a couple of questions (and yes, she replied) but on one of her answers (to someone else who asked if it was ok to workout 5-6 days a week) she said it was best not to work out more than 4 or 5 days a wekk with one day of yoga/pilates..in other words a "stretch day".....and that is what I KNOW I need to incorporate into my routine...

So these will be my Sept. goals:

1. 4 days fitness (M, T, Th, Fri)...all four days will be cardio and then 2 days of ST in the evenings
2. 1 day of stretch (W)....gotta go find some yoga/pilates DVDs or stretching exercises to do at home
3. 4-5 fruit/veggie servings a day
4. Watch out for and cut down on carbs
5. Write at least 4 articles a week over at Demand Studios
6. Lose weight..don't really care about the number but going for 10 lbs...whatever I lose will be fine
7. Budget back in for a monthly facial...this sun/heat can be BRUTAL!

That's pretty much it for now...well, that's all I can think of and that is enough from the looks of it...if I need to add, then I will but I should be pretty busy!!

By the way, Alicia is 5'10"..I'm only 5'8" so if she is that tall with a rocking body, I can only imagine what I'll look like...lol!!!

    Thanks for your encouragement on my blog! I need to remember to get that day of yoga/pilates in! My favorite DVD of this type is Crunch Super Slimdown with Ellen Barrett. When I needed a new copy Hastings no longer carried it, and I found it on ebay for a great price.

    I like that you have detailed every aspect of your plan. I have often wondered about how many days a person should workout. Last year I was at less that a day a week, more like a day or two a month. I joined a challenge and that got me started. I am up to 4 days a week. I will probably need to move to 5 days by November. Instead of just another gym day, I am going to try a tai chi class. Your goal setting blog was informative for me, thanks.
