I forgot to get my hair cut today! Well, sort of. I had intended to get up early and go to the mall but I ended up sleeping in pretty late and then had to run to the grocery store and by the time I was finished with that I didn't feel like bothering with the mall. If you don't do things pretty early around here, you might as well stay home because traffic sucks at lunch time and around the time school lets out, until around 7 P.M. Plus, people around here drive like idiots, I swear. Every day, some jerkboots decides that they are special and immune to the laws. My favorite people are the ones who attempt to cut us off and then glare at us like WE are doing something wrong when we try to prevent them from cutting us off! Grrrr, jerks.
Moving on... I was so hungry today! I started my period and usually for the first day or two, I want very little to do with food but today, for some reason, I just wanted to eat, eat, eat. I think I did okay, though. I ate a lot of fruit! And I drank a decent amount of water. I'm actually looking forward to waking up tomorrow so I can eat something tasty for breakfast, haha.
So, what do I have in the kitchen that is good to eat?? Let me see...
*Everything Bagel Thins with veggie cream cheese (I have always thought bagels were just "too much" bread so I am thrilled with these! I haven't been an "everything bagel" girl so this was something new to try. I have to get past the weird feeling of chewing seeds because these are pretty good).
*Strawberries to accompany meal
*Clementines to go-with, too
*Eggs (fried over-hard or scrambled with cheese and veggies and perhaps some salsa!), with whole wheat toast and butter
*Stonyfield Farms low-fat French Vanilla yogurt with granola and fruit
*French toast with strawberries (nom! Gawd, I love strawberries!) and powdered sugar (maybe I'll add bananas! I've never tried it that way before)
*Water! Or low-fat chocolate milk (or both)
*Sliced strawberries with a little bit of sugar
*Sliced Granny Smith apples spritzed with lemon juice (Maybe I'll be adventurous and dip them into a little bit of peanut butter)
*Dole Apple & Creme fruit parfait (OMG, thank you ALLYN for recommending these!), warmed up with some granola sprinkled on top. Tastes like apple crisp!
*Whole wheat toast with butter and strawberry preserves
*Cinnamon toast! (Mmm, one of my favorite snacks)
*I know I have other ideas but they aren't coming to me
*Asian chicken salad (spinach, grilled chicken breast, sliced almonds, crunchy Chinese noodles, mandarin oranges or Clementine slices, Asian sesame dressing)
*Breakfast stuff for lunch
*Um... I know there are other ideas, just getting tired now
I'll work on dinner ideas tomorrow! Good night.

*bounce bounce bounce*
I love love LOVE spring! It is absolutely my favorite season, especially here in Texas, because it's when the weather is the most ideal to me. Everything is coming back to life, including ME! And my trees! I just love the cute new buds sprouting on the tree branches in my yard. I love seeing new growth on our baby peach tree and baby oak tree. I love to see the yucky brown grass turn green again, even if it does mean I have to do yard work again.
I've been in a really bad funk for the past few months, some of it was probably winter blues but a lot of it was the fact that I just have no freakin' idea what my financial future holds. Well, I've been getting a lot of hours at work and as long as that keeps happening, my pay combined with the roommate's piddly VA disability (it really is SAD how little he gets for the commitment he made to this country for years!! It covers HALF our house payment and that is IT) and our remaining savings to help us out, we should be okay. We can just barely afford our monthly bills, as long as we keep the eating out to a minimum and the unnecessary food buying to a minimum at the grocery store. I feel good about things for now. It'd be better if he could actually get a damn job! But that's another gripe for another time or never (he's trying, he's just not getting anything, sigh).
Aaaanyway... spring yep, it's here! I'm back and while I want to throw myself back into sparking (as in the social aspects of the site) I am going to try to take baby steps because otherwise I will spend most of my day here, catching up, instead of living life! I need to take a walk, it's so freakin' beautiful outside. Going to try for 30 consecutive minutes today, maybe longer!
I want a hair cut, too. I haven't had it cut in almost a year. I'm just so lazy, I hate going to get it taken care of, lol. I will, though, I'm sick of the length! Soon. Like, tomorrow!
Another thing I love about spring? Strawberries are so pretty!! Over the winter they were just yuck, but I bought some big beauties yesterday. I need to go slice them up for snacking! Ahhh, have I mentioned how ALIVE I feel in the spring? I truly need to live where it is spring year-round or at least 9 months out of the year.

I'm back from going MIA for awhile. Been working a lot and man, is that exhausting. Also just doing the usual household duties and parenting and all that exciting business. Just felt like taking a break from all things spark for awhile but now I feel ready to jump back in and join the conversation and work on the fitness, etc.
The weather is gorgeous right now so I'm trying to get a lot of outdoor stuff done, such as walking, roller skating, feeding the birds, working in the yard, painting a picnic table, yada yada.
I joined the Virtual 5k group thing that SP has going on and I'm really looking forward to participating in the virtual 5k walk in mid-April, since I can't justify paying money for any of the real races around here right now.
What else was I going to mention? I don't remember... Crap, I hate when that happens.
