happy to report I am still within 5 pounds of when the article was first published, although I am up 10 from my lowest. If this is out or all the world to see, I better get busy and represent! I do credit SP for my success and need to get back to using the tools it gives me.

Everytime I log on to SP, I think I should do exercise if I haven't-it is so inspiring! So I put on a video and go for it! I did that tonight! Since this past couple weeks been sick with a cold and now sinus infection, have been a little lax with exercising-rightly so, but I don't let it get me down, if I can do it - I do! My 10 min tonight, went on to 40! emoticon

Thanks Chris, I did get my 15 today. I have been bad during the holidays, but I'm back to fixing some bad behaviors. I need to be healthy, I have a new grandchild coming next month. My first grandchild was part of the reason I originally lost weight. I had trouble just carrying a 10 lb baby upstairs.

PS I hang out on another website for my hobby (Splitcoaststampers) and we have a thread running right now on the merits of SP and at least 2 new SP members this week!

I have friends who try to excuse it away by saying they don't have time to exercise. I consistently tell them to just do 5 or 10 minutes here or there while they're on hold on the phone, waiting in line, watching TV, etc. Everyone can manage that! I don't accept excuses, at least for myself, and fit in exercise here and there throughout the day with a larger portion of 30 - 60 minutes in the late afternoon outside before it gets dark.

My highlight is taking the time to do this consistently every day for myself.

Title: Half-way to Goal

Message: I promised myself I would officially "woo-hoo" when I got here and I almost forgot. I have lost 35.5 pounds since I started on Spark People August 7, 2011 when I had 70 pounds to lose. So, I am a half pound into the next half! The "skinny" clothes I put away after "the last big diet" are starting to fit - in fact, when they fit "last time" I weighed a fair deal less than I do now ... The difference is EXERCISE! I broke the barrier to daily exercise on SP with the Ten-Minute-A-Day philosophy and have been doing it daily since - up to 35 minutes 2-3 times a week! Maybe some of the current weight is MUSCLE: I am in a smaller, firmer package! YAY! And THANKS Spark People! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

The 10 minutes a day mindset opens the door for activity every day. Today, for example, I started working out thinking "I'll just do the 10 minutes but about 8 minutes in, I was rejuvenated and decided to continue on to complete 30 minutes. It works!

Title: Reached weight loss goal by my target date!

Message: When I set my weight loss goal, I set the target date as today: 1/1/12. Many times along the journey I have questioned the wisdom of that decision. It meant that I had to keep making good choices, or at least reasonable splurges throughout the holidays. To top it off, I knew that I would have to take the last 10 days of my journey either being a guest at someone else''s house, or having company in my home, with little or no access to the internet. I borrowed my neighbor''s scale last night, so I would have it to weigh in first thing this morning. Last night, it looked like it might be hopeful. This morning, I discovered that I not only reached my weight loss goal, but I left an extra 1.8 pounds behind. I''m very relieved and excited. I really was not at all convinced that I would make it through the last couple weeks without the accountability and support that I''m used to. Woohoo!! I did it!!!

    I love SparkPeople!
My first weigh day is Monday!
I have some physical disabilities and it makes it extremely hard to exercise.I can walk but it is very, very slow.I did go outside today as the weather here in Missouri was beautiful!61F!

I did not think I could lose weight if I didn't exercise hard and fast.So I saw the ten minute challenge and was wondering if it was to late to get in on it? I can walk for ten minutes every day on treadmill or outside. As I said it's slow but it's moving.

I'm on my "do over" and reading your blobs is inspiring. It's great to read about success and those back at it again, like I am. It helps to convince me that I can be successful too. Only finished 2 days so far, but I started and hope I have the strength to not give up on myself. I deserve to feel normal, we all do! Here's to today!

50 minutes - 30 minute WATP DVD and 20 minute resistance band workout [Coach Nicole]. I love using resistance bands for strength training.

I really feel like 2012 is going to be my year.
