Title: I WILL make it!!!!!

Message: ok so I joined a weight loss group at work on Sept 1st and it ends
Dec 31st. my original goal was to simply win and collect my winnings
($25/person buy-in X 6 ppl). but since I started, this has become so much
more different than I expected. it has actually settled in that I could be
successful at this, so I changed my goal to 50 pounds by the end of the
challange. the first 10 pounds went fast. then 20 came around. then when I
wasn''t looking here comes 30. it was harder to find, but eventually 40
pounds came (and went). I''m currently at 41 pounds lost. I just couldn''t
imagine how great I could possibly feel and I couldn''t wait for the next
day nevermind the next pound. I now have even newer goals. I started
training for my first 5K which I plan on doing next July for my nieces
birthday. I have horrible knees that I''ve had 3 surgeries on and want to
take my training at an easy pace and not reinjure myself and I need to make
sure I''m fit enough to finish it.

I now know I can do this now and I WILL make it!!!!! emoticon

Love the member highlight! it must make all you have done at spark worthwhile!
I did my 10 minutes of exercise before I got up, mostly physio and yoga that I do every day with a little strength training to get me going. Will do more exercise later including walking.
Highlight of my day was that is was raining when I got up and the sun came out. So its a bit warmer today, but windy! Took a look at your breakfast club on facebook too! Is it an official challenge? If so, where do we enter?
Hope you have a lovely day, even though you are busy!

I have a long way to go to be on par with this one... but will try again (as scheduled) next week. I also had a long day of carrying heavy boxes at work today.

Today I did something I have not done in 40 years!

I went out yesterday and bought a ...... hmm ...a hulahoop ring, the big ring you swirl around the waist.

Yesterday the ring would only swirl one maybe two turns. Today I reached a THOUSAND and at the end it swirled aprox 50 times before gravity took over. ("It" ...... I made it swirl - Yeay!)

I have not had that much fun in years (in the middle of my livingroom) and I have not been so much out of breath and sweating inside my home for at long as I can remember (living alone - husband on the other side of the planet!), and the food in the oven was ...... very dark ... when the smell finally reached me and was translated to relevant info in the brain.

Smell ??!? .... hmm what is burning .... hmm ... OH SH....T !!! - the "spinach-onion-tomato-youghurt-flax
seed-goatcheese-veggie-slice thing" in the oven!! emoticon

Will I do it again tomorrow? - maybe - noticed some blue stripes across the ribs while showering, ... will I do it again before the weekend? ABSOLUTELY!! emoticon

.. and it took longer than 10 minutes emoticon

I just felt to blessed that the family was not around! - heh. emoticon

November 15: Day 72 of the 10+ Minute Fitness Challenge

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Today's Fitness
I did 72 minutes of fitness today this was a coincidence that it's also Day 72 of the streak!

Today's Highlights
Today's highlight was again seeing good progress. This time I could tell that my jump rope and sprints speed clearly increased. I think the benefits of consistency are really starting to kick in. I really love seeing how being consistent with strength exercises then translates into improvements in other types of exercise as well.

In my few spare minutes of "me time" I was looking over the popular blogs and did a double take! SparkGuy is on Day 72 of his streak? Not day 4,976 but day 72?!? Wow, I feel SO MUCH BETTER about my 4 week @ 5x per week streak! Honestly, I get a little intimidated at huge exercise streak numbers and feel like I might never get there - after all, there is no hurrying up the day count or 'catching up' to someone with a huge lead.

Chris, I missed the beginning of the story, but it sounds like health problems were at fault for the reset. I am sorry and will keep you in my prayers for fast healing. And I hope it doesn't sound selfish to say that I am inspired by your relatively small, very reachable streak number. I've been a 5 times per week girl, but starting tomorrow I am going to be at least a 10 minute per day 7 days a week girl.

Thank you! For the site and your dream and the book, but especially for being within the realm of reasonably do-able!

wow you guys are great. I am new and just getting organized but my goal is to lose 50 pounds, get off of metformin, and control my diabetes with diet and exercise. My biggest obstacle to overcome is my binge eating. Seem to have replaced the smoking habit with mindless eating, so need to control that.

Good for you on the progress! I rode my stationary bike for a half hour. It was cold because it's out on the front porch. Today I'm reading Toxin, by Robin Cook. I was reading in on the bike but it fell and I just left it on the ground until I was done. The book is very intense, I've been reading it all day, off and on.

I did my usual 2.91 mile loop (from my house, around my kids school, etc)... its become a Tuesday morning routine for me.. because if I leave right after I put my children on the bus, I'll pass the bus at one point on its route and I can see my kids and wave to them... and know that they are seeing mommy run and be a good example! It is the highlight of my day. (Then I go to my weight watchers meeting).

Thank you for the 10+ minute daily challenge! Today, I didn't feel like exercising, but I thought about your 10+ minute daily challenge and said 10 minutes of exercise is better than nothing. So I headed to the health club and did water jogging in the pool for 35 minutes. I felt so much better when I was done!

Thank you for the motivation!

I as well did not want to get out and do anything today. It is cold in the mornings. But I got up, went to the walking track and timed how long it would take to walk a mile. I did that so all in all walked for about 30 minutes. I felt so much better that I was not cheating myself and did something instead of nothing. Thanks for your support in keeping us motivated.

Since the days are "shorter" for daylight, my outdoor bike riding after work has ceased. So, to continue getting a cardio work-out, I decided to bring gym bag to work with change of clothes and do 30 minutes on eliptical during lunch hour. Sure felt great going back to work for the rest of the afternoon!

I'm in the middle of reading your book. It really re-ignited my spark and I'm so completely focused on getting back on track. My goal is to do 10 minutes of yoga each morning before work to help me wake up, focus, and energize. I also built my very own visual collage.
Thank you for continuing to share you spark! I guess without really knowing it I started engaging in the 10+ minute challenge myself!

It IS fun to see the progress of weight training! Every time I increase my weights, I feel like I have really accomplished something, and it is great to see my muscles toning.

I agree, it is and today I started out with my dvd of the Blast. I am really going to like this one. The other Cardio one, due to my health issues, I can only do the first 2 and a couple of the 3rd one. Will just have to see how this one goes.
