Today's Fitness
I did 53 minutes of fitness today.

Today's Highlights
Today's highlight was exercising outside and my guys came out to play football. Once I was finished stretching I joined them as the designated QB and helped them run around a lot.

    I have a great fitness coach who will not let me 'skip' - her name is Princess and she has much more strength than you would suspect from her fluffy white 20-lb body! Anyway, there's no option for 'saying no' when she's ready to go so that's the best 'fitness coach' one could ask for!

    November 13th was my daughter's 19th birthday. She's been inspiring me while I've been inspiring her. I've been exercising regularly for over a year now and my first streak was 289 days. My daughter started walking every day after she started college and is past day 50 of at least 10 minutes a day. I have restarted my streak and the 13th was my 13th day. When she's home from college, she insists we walk together. It's awesome!

    Thank you for the 10+ minute daily challenge! Today, I didn't feel like exercising, but I thought about your 10+ minute daily challenge and said 10 minutes of exercise is better than nothing. So I headed to the health club and did water jogging in the pool for 35 minutes. I felt so much better when I was done!

I actually did 60 minutes on the elliptical today (4.5 miles, which is kinda slow for me. I can do 5 if I really push myself.)

Anyway, you have a job posting for an editorial assistant on careerbuilder.com that totally has my name written all over it.   In the past, Sunday is my lazy day and I try not to get out of my PJ's. Since starting SparkPeople a couple of weeks ago, today was a change! I got dressed at 3PM and went for a walk in the neighborhood. 45minutes! YAY ME! emoticon

My highlight (which actually occurred last night, does that count?) was getting rid of my size 5X shirts and size 60 pants and trading them for size 3X and size 54's. Off to Goodwill they're going. Plus I faced some anxiety issues head on today.

I did 27 minutes of fitness today.

Today's Highlights
Today's highlight was getting outside in the crisp fall weather for jump rope and stretching. Keep getting as much sunshine as we head into fall/winter as you can everyone!

Here's a fun SparkMail I received today. I love seeing so many members talk about how The SparkPeople Cookbook really goes beyond just recipes and that the recipes are so good as well!

I plan to shed. And I did it without starving myself, killing myself at the gym (even though I work out 3 days a week), or following some fad diet that deprives you of all normal foods.

Thank you for understanding that it takes more than a meal plan to make a successful journey towards a healthy life.

  I used to think if I was not sweating to death I was not exercising. I learned, through my dietician, that as long as I am out and getting exercise at least 15-30 minutes I am doing something. That has helped motivate me to not kill myself and to reach an obtainable goal. So good for you in all you are doing. Keep up the great work.

    I got my walking video in this AM and this evening I had to get creative to keep my strength streak going 445 days now - my sciatic is causing major pain in the back - so I did some easy core and upper body to strength and not irritate and keep the streak alive. Streaks are the best thing going for me. I'm also working on a third month of every day over 12,000 steps 840 to go before bed time!

    I did weights and rode my recumbent bike .I was just telling my friend that I have a lot to thank Spark people for I was in an accident and they told me I would be a paraplegic .I am stubborn and do a lot of exercise but I credit Spark people with providing me with excellent information to battle the weight gain that comes with the medication I have to take and the lovely friends I have made here encourage me all the time.Not to mention the fact that I use the Spark people cookbook and Coach Nicole's exercise advice religiously so thank you so much !

    I got in 90 minutes of fitness today. My highlights were a leafy green veggie/fresh fruit and ice drink I blended and got a ton of energy from, and not using the flat tire I got yesterday while riding my bike as an excuse for not getting out and working out.

    I did 60 mins of core excerise,, yesterday 20. I am NEW at being back at this, thanks to physical therapy which is HELPING ME !! WOOHOOOOOO ! Working towards,,,,after surgery #14 in around 3 weeks???? for foot,,, HOPEFULLY walking again in short spurts. OH HOW BADLY I WANT TO WALK AGAIN !!! Than Yes, I'll start my streak again, and put my note back up on my apartment door,, LOL Many would ask me about that sticky note,,, other than that,, I AM playing my elect guitar for my excer each day with my xbox,, wooohoooo I can BARELY KEEP UP to some of those songs,,,, swinging and playin like a MAINIAC !!!! i am from Maine ! LOL

I did 45 minutes of fitness today.

Today's highlight was doing 5 "sets" of anaerobic exercises throughout the day jump rope and sprints. Love how these make me feel.

Today's member highlight is seeing my book The Spark spread internationally to help more people reach their goals. Here's an email I sent to our team today:

Hi All

This is a fun one -- I can't remember if I've mentioned that Hay House has started selling the rights to The Spark to other countries. Now every few months or so I open up a package and it's The Spark from another country.

So far, the countries are (in order received):
1) South Korea
2) Italy (maybe The Spark can help with their debt crisis?)
3) Poland

And today I just opened a package with a copy from.....

4) Bulgaria!

    I tried a "Dancing with the Stars" Latin Cardio tape today - it's broken up into 10 minute sections - perfect for a beginner like me. I did the warm up section and one 10 minute segment plus went walking. Great day. emoticon

  I am loving this 10 minute fitness thing because starting out small has caused me to increase to more exercise more each day. The momentum is spreading to other areas of my life.
My aha moment for yesterday came when I starting thinking about my passion for helping others to reach their goals.
I knew I would have to return toschool in order to achieve my goal, thinking then " I can't do that"... the "aha" moment came when I said to myself.."oh, yes I can..Why not?....After all my lifes motto is...I can and I will.

    Okay, highlight of my workout: I have a friend who does no fitness. I asked him to have a joint goal wit me. We agreed on 50 push ups. He has done them everyday, I am so happy about this.

I was able to finally reach 50 for the first time today!

    Congratulations on the international book sales!!!!! How very rewarding!!!!!
My 20 minutes of exercise was a blast today. I went with my special needs kids to our last recess and helped my girls join a small jump rope game. I ended up with a line of 20 2nd and 3rd grade girls waiting to jump. I turned the rope and thrilled the kids with my jumping skills. When the recess bell rang, we were all hugging and slapping high fives. What a fun way to get my fitness minutes.

    Took the stairs up to meetings on 5th floor, down to lobby, then back up to 4th floor, down to lobby, finally to 3rd floor and back to lobby before heading out to my car to go back to the office. That's a total of 12 flights of stairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I completed day 8 of my fitness streak today! Walked on the treadmill for 35 minutes and then did some pushups, crunches and a few other strength exercises. I'm in the process of reading The Spark, and I have to say it's probably already been the most inspirational piece of my healthy lifestyle puzzle. It's made so many things just click for me and really helps motivate me to keep moving!

    I picked up the tree my husband cut into chunks and loaded it into the truck. I then had to unload the truck and stack it nicely by the house. I think I got in some definate weight lifting and cardio today. It felt good to work outside today. I did add a short walk to my routine just to make sure I had a good heartrate going for the day.

    I got mine as well. Instead of taking the bus, I power walked the mile. It felt great. Now off to my scheduled workout ;)
