Day 9 of 10+ minutes of fitness streak and I did one of Coach Nicole's cardio videos (those are no joke).

As someone who likes to compete with myself, it kills me to have to break a streak unless it's a good reason. I'm only 9 days in but the thought of going in to work and erasing my board to 0 is not something I want to do. I see your streak is at 130, and because I wasn't there for the beginning, when was the last time you broke your streak and why, if I may ask? Just curious!

I'm also reading your book. Thanks for all you do!

Love your blogs - and yes, I did get my fitness in today, 60 minutes so far, taking the dogs out for a nice brisk walk, including a few hills. Gotta try to burn off as much as possible of the indulgence from yesterday at DH's niece's wedding - yikes!

I was feeling bad that I only did 15 minutes on the elliptical last night and then I realized that with that short amount of time, I'd met the criteria for your 10 minute challenge. It really motivated me and helped me to feel good about the short time that I did put in. It was better than sitting on the couch!

    Simple walking...adds up

Pre-op ECG...nurse said resting heart rate a little low...unless I walk, exercise, etc. regularly...when I said a minimum hour's walk most days...she smiled & said ' then resting heart rate is excellent'...I may still have some lbs to lose, but health wise, it is paying off.

Found some fat free chocolate pudding which taste great and only has 90 calories, much better than the Christmas chocolates that have had me in their power!

I really didn't want to do anything after shoveling snow for a half hour (and yes it counts but..) in the end my inner voice who is awful demanding told me I would have a better night at work if I hit the cycle trainer. So 20 minutes on the cycle trainer after the shoveling.

Cool that you and your son got to work out together and spend that quality time together outside today. It was snowy, blustery and freezing cold here in MO today, so I only ventured to the mail box and back. Brrrrrr......

Title: It may sound small, but to me it's HUGE...

Message: Hi everyone: I started the year @ 300 lbs. and weighed this morning for the first time since my "A New Me" journey began. I am happy, thrilled, delighted, (insert adjective of your choosing here) to report my emoticon has begone its counter clockwise movement to reaching my ultimate goal. I am now 7 lbs. lighter than I was just 11 days ago. I am sure much of that is water loss, but it didn''t keep me from doing a very uncoordinated happy dance -- I believe there was some fist pumping and Tebowing going on in there as well. emoticon

Anyway, Thanks for letting me share my small, yet huge moment with y''all. You folks ROCK!!

Have a super day,

Nancy

Yesterday I walked for 55 minutes at a brisk pace with a friend of mine, then went for a slow hike with my sister for about 30 minutes and last night went for a fast hike - went 3 miles with 800 ft elevation gain in 63 minutes - the best part was that I didn't get too out of breath as I have when hiking fast uphill before - woohoo!

This morning walked the dogs for about 20 minutes one time and another 15 minutes - will take them out again this evening for 30-45 minutes. Fortunately my dogs like to walk fast so it turns out to be a good aerobic workout.

Sunday, January 08, 2012

Today's Fitness
I did 86 minutes of fitness today.

Today's Highlights
Today's highlight was again getting in a good amount of fitness minutes during a football game. Hats off to the Denver Brocos and Tim Tebow for an amazing game (and kudos to the Steelers for coming back and showing how tough they always are). My brother lives in Denver and was at the game today. Watched the game with my boys and we'd go outside during some commercials and run sprints and throw football.

I had to laugh at this comment from a member her dog ate my book The Spark! But happily she got another copy. As a small plug, I honestly believe reading The Spark is one of the top things any SP member can do if they want to increase their chances of reaching their health goals and any goals in life. If you buy the book, read it, and don't like it, I'll buy it back from you:

I did 98 minutes of fitness today.

Today's Highlights
Today's highlight's were doing a lot of fitness while watching my hometown Cincinnati Bengals lose to the Houston Texans (congrats to the Texans!). Then, after the game I went outside and ran sprints with my boys. Message: I just realized something! I exercised every day this week! That''s a first! I hadn''t been doing almost any exercising so this is HUGE!!! I took a 12 mile hike on Sunday, did 1 hour+ on the treadmill on MWF, worked with a trainer plus did some treadmill time on Thursday, and tomorrow is another hike - 8 miles. Way to go me!!! And I''m going to keep it up. Moving the treadmill from the basement to the family room and in front of the TV has been a good move. Oh, and I''ve been logging my calories.   Chris you will laugh when you read this; I have a personal trainer--she's 8 years old! lol. She's in my congregation and from a very dysfunctional family so I took her under my wing and said "can you help me with my exercising?" At the time I was taking personal training at the gym so I called her MY pt! She loves it! One thing she can't handle is sugar; it makes her hyper crazy! We were at a convention today and at noon break she and I had a cookie. Within a few minutes she was starting to bounce! So I said "Let's go for a walk". I am using a walker.I grabbed her; put her in front of me in the walker and off we went at a pretty brisk pace--definite cardio! Got her to her seat and continued on at a good pace to my seat (at the other end of the auditorium natch! ) All told I think we did about 20 mins of that plus another couple 10 mins spurts. And It's a two day convention so this will be repeated! WooHoo! Laurie
