I enjoyed the presentation. Was so excited that I actually went to the gym and did 25 minutes of cycling before the meeting and then back to the gym for 40 minutes on the treadmill. Thank you for the inspiration!!

My highlight for the day was a walk in the morning (one hour) and a swim in the afternoon (30 minutes). I love it when I get both in.

Thank you for helping me rethink fitness. I finally see measurable results for by back and belly. I'm finally up to five mile walks and my at home ten minute exercise routine is no longer hit or miss. I'm grateful for your dedication to helping others. May kndness and mercy find a home in your life.

NOTE FROM CVRONEK:
Thank you so much for all you have done and continue to do! My daughter and I are so grateful. How can we ever return your kindness?

Title: I exercised today!

Message: I am very new to exercising and its been hard to get started due to fibromyalgia but I danced like a wild woman for 10 minutes. Put on Gloria Gaynor and Sister Sledge songs and just danced. I have now rhythm whatsoever so I just moved and it was fun and I felt happy. I have about 150 lbs to lose so this was a big deal to get me started. :)

I over did it and tried to do the Insanity work out. I got about 30 minutes in and thought I was dying. I don't think I'm quiet there yet, but at least I tried. Think I'll keep it but go back to my normal fitness program, until I'm ready to kick it's butt.

Yes, I did an hour of Tai Chi preceded by a 15 minute
walk to get there and then an hour's walk afterwards.
Woo Hoo, I feel great today... emoticon

September 26: Day 22 of the 10+ Minute Fitness Challenge

Today's Fitness
I did 25 minutes of fitness today

Today's Highlights
Today's highlights were:
1 I got some fitness minutes on the exercise bike while practicing for the Health 2.0 SparkPeople demo
2 It was fun doing the demo itself. This was very short (only 3.5 minutes), but it was fun to show a member blog, some features, and other cool things. I even did jump rope for 5 seconds to start off the speech and challenged everyone in the audience to do 10+ fitness minutes.

I loved getting this Goodie today!

NOTE FROM JWJCKSN:
Thanks for challenging us to do at least 10 minutes a day. When Life gets hard, I remember "just do 10 minutes" and I don't feel guilty about not being able to do my goal of 4 miles/day. Can't always find that hour, but 10 minutes is easy! Finally a hint of fall in the air! Have a great day!

I love the 10 minute a day fitness streak! It gets ya moving and befor you know it, you WANT to do more than 10 minutes. I'm on day 52, and I switch back and forth from running 5k to 10-25 min workout videos. It helps to keep flexible for hectic days...

Go SparkGuy, go! Know what? The ten-minute thing was what finally got me to kick the all or nothing attitude. Totally freed me from giving up, if I couldn't be perfect. Makes life doable. Thanks!!

Today's Fitness
I did 83 minutes of fitness today

Today's Highlights
Today's highlight was getting in a lot of sprints. I need to do a SparkPeople presentation at the Health 2.0 conference tomorrow so doing all these sprints should really have me ready to speak well in front of people (I always notice that I speak better when I'm doing anaerobic-like exercises.

As an update, I've now seen my acupuncturist 3 times and I really believe he's changing my life. It's amazing to see the difference in my energy levels and Im finally starting to get caught up on some projects.

Here's one of my favorite comments from the past couple of days:

Title: Surprised by a Genuine Compliment

Message: Since I did not join SparkPeople to lose weight (though I needed
to for better health), when I received a compliment on my (I guess) slimmer
legs and (who cares?) face, I was taken aback. It was at that moment that I
realized that it has been a very long time since I received a compliment on
my appearance. It was just that -- being surprised by a genuine compliment.
Weird. Anyway, that compliment also confirmed for me that my commitment to
better health is what is working for me -- not a weight-loss program.
SparkPeople has been the best motivational health program I have ever tried,
and it works for me. I love this program!

I just found this on my sp page today... is this streak a 10+ of exercise each day... if so I can live with that... I will start mine today... I will start with 10 minutes as i put my back out this week leaning over to kiss my 7 year old grandson of all things.. lol... I know if i start with the 10 minutes i can work up to more... what a great idea rather than try and start with say 30... it has been hot here so i need to figure out what i can do that doesn't require me to be outside... have many walking tapes... and guess it wouldn't hurt to do some of the sp exercises on line as well... thanks for the encouragement... this goal is doable and I am going to start it today!!

I got in 30 minutes of bike riding with my granddaughter. it was tough at first since I missed 2 days of riding. But I made it through and at the end it felt good. Going to do 30 minutes each day this week and next week will push it further. will do 1.5 laps thru the neighbor hood. Wanting to work up to 2 to 3 laps every day. It is a challenge since I have not rode a bike in over 30 years. The girls laugh the first day I started, just got better and will get even better. Good luck and congratulations to all who are getting their fitness on.

I have to agree with your post. I joined to get healthy, the weight would be a benefit, but healthy is my goal. I am learning so much. How to eat right, to chose better options, to stay motivated. I'm learning it's okay if I slip but that I need to get back up if I do. Awesome post. emoticon

I managed to get in 90 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training at the gym today.

My highlight was looking at myself in the wall mirror at the gym and realizing that my body is changing shape. I'm not losing so much pound wise, but my body is really beginning to change shape.

Of course I still have a long way to go, but I'll take anything positive that I can get.

I have to agree with the member comment. And although I did join to just lose weight, I have found so much more. Getting healthier by learning about good nutrition, portion control and exercises that I can do, was more than I ever could have asked for.

The wonderful SparkFriend support was the icing on the cake!

And of course you're daily fitness example is terrific!
