Hit Goal Weight

Friday, September 13, 2013

WAHOO!!! I finally hit my goal weight. What was supposed to take four mouths took me nine months. But I'm not complaining. I feel great and I am determined not to gain back an ounce. I'll continue food journaling and exercising with my Fitbit. I just hope I don't fall off this wagon!

I feel embarrassed to ask but what is the function of the fitbit? Is it any different from a pedometer or mp3?

Just like a Turtle!

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

Slow but steady. Well, very slow but steady. The scale finally inched down another pound. Who knew it could be so slow, but I'm guessing my age isn't helping. Needless to say, I'm happy the scale is inching down and not up. And it's the lowest it's been in years. This woman is NOT complaining!

    Hey,
did you know there is a spark team on here called Tortoise's Unite. I'm on it too. It used to be called the slowest loser. That is me too. I lose weight very slowly. glad your seeing results. Haven't spoken to you in a while. Hope you are well!

lol Yes! Let's be glad that the scale is going DOWN!!! I found out long ago that the scale isn't always the best measurement of progress. Sometimes we have to look at other things. How does your body feel? How do clothes fit? Is your energy level up? These things will inspire us when the scale decides to be naughty! lol Congrats on your weight loss!

moving slowly in a positive direction can lead to real changes instead of quick fixes where you end up losing a lot but then gaining all back

Good for you for sticking with it! The scale is moving VERY slowly for me, too. Hormones and age are a hard thing to overcome, but as I read people's success stories, they make me realize it IS possible. I'm just happy that the scale is moving down (generally) instead of up - that's the way it was headed before I started tracking again. The scale seems to have no problem moving UP fast - ha.

I have been slow as a turtle my self, but this week, I seemed to gain a pound, so I really need to do something, I tell my self it is muscle, but how come I am not any stronger emoticon

Vacation Results

Monday, March 11, 2013

I hit the scale this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find that I only gained one pound afteer 2 1/2 weeks vacationing. One of the reasons for the vacation was to get somewhere warmer and with no ice and snow so that I could walk more. After the hip replacement I couldn't take chances with ice and snow and we have far too many hills for me to deal with with the new hip. So walking on a flat surface these last couple of weeks certainly helped. I also lost an inch in my waste and hips so I'm happy.

Vacation and the Scale

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Home from the vacation and afraid to get on the scale! How bad can it be? I tried to be good but we'll see how it goes tomorrow. I'm not going to ruin a good vacation by getting on the scale tonight. Tomorrow is another day! Tired but happy.

I have a vacation coming up and I am hoping I can retain what I have lost. It will be a good test to know if I can make healthy choices when away from home but if not I will not give up I will just pick up where I left off emoticon
