My student trainer promised to hit me with cardio on Friday and she sure did!
35 minutes on the cybex arc trainer
15 minutes on the elliptical
She's really pushing with levels and resistance, so I find what used to be a fairly easy time on the elliptical has now become MUCH more difficult. I know you can't just keep doing the same thing and if you're looking for results you have to increase intensity or increase the time. On the arc trainer, she kept the level at 5, but incrementally moved the resistance from 15 to 45. On the elliptical, she didn't move the level/resistance as much, but she had me do repeated short bursts of very high intensity, as hard as I could go. I got the reps up to 264 on my highest burst. I had trouble holding it for 30 seconds though, it was more like 20 seconds!
Good workout ... and I was so glad it was FRIDAY!!!
