a pet peeve

Whoever the genious is who decided to make water bottle caps smaller is an I___T... my hands bleed more often than not because the grooves on the bottles cut my skin - my husband says" well do not drink so much water and you wont have this problem! REALLY?

I would like to know who thought of this GENIOUS idea so I can write them - because EVERY bottle water company has changed to the new smaller caps.

I love my water - I am now opening most bottles with an opener... when I am away from home - I try to put something between the cap and my skin. What a pain in my butt!

I agree totally with you Jean! They are small and on there so darn tight!

I had the same complaint as both you and the one the CHANGING4ME voiced, too. Then I watched the documentary "Tapped". And I went out and bought everyone in my family the refillable Brita sports bottles that have filters in them. Now we can fill them at any faucet, at home, at church, or on the go. No more plastic water bottles, even though I always recycled them religiously. That was a change I'd been dragging my feet on making for a couple of years.

It is annoying, but maybe it's a ploy to get us to stop buying bottled water. I'm as guilty as anyone, but I finally bought a 64 oz bottle with a freezable center so the water stays cold all day. We have way too much waste!

True. I would also add that I dislike how some companies are making bottles out of a thinner plastic. I know this is for the environment but prehaps they needn't fill them so high. It seems every time I go to open one it doesn't take much to cause the water to spill out EVERYWHERE. Annoying!

Day 7

Monday, January 07, 2013

emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today is day 7 for me of the January Jumpstart Challenge.

I am doing well! Today I walked on the treadmill for 22 minutes... I slowed it down from 40 minutes due to my bad ankle emoticon
I did a spark video with coach Nicole emoticon and
I did strength training 5 minutes on my legs and 5 minutes on my arms emoticon emoticon
I ate healthy today - fiber one for breakfast, salad for lunch (112 calories), and had taco dinner tonight - low fat, low sodium, mostly lettuce... I drank tea most the day and getting in my water - to equal 10 servings of beverages.

I have been experiencing low blood pressure again 88/52...

My plan is to do what I can everyday that I can.

Keep on keeping on!

Awesome job, I need to become more disciplined about my eating again now that the holidays are gone!

Swade, I do drink almost a gallon of fluids a day to help combat my low blood pressure. I agree about the food intake, after tracking it all tonight - I had a snack or two to increase my intake. Typically I have more calories at lunch time, but today I wanted healthier and lighter intake, as I had to sit more today - due to homework.
Thank you so much for your input.

With low blood pressure you should probably increase your fluid intake. Also, are you sure you are getting enough calories and nutrients? What you said you eat seems awfully low and light.

Congrats on getting through Day 7! =) I just did Day 2 myself

You Are Not Alone

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

You are not alone.

You are not alone in suffering.
Most of us suffer in one form or another.

So says scripture:
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
(Job 14:1 KJV)

"Seventy years are given to us! Some may even reach eighty.
But even the best of these years are filled with pain and trouble;
soon they disappear, and we are gone." (Psalms 90:10 NLT)

You are not alone.

"If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask
the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you
forever - the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him,
because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for
he lives with you and will be in you." (John 14:15-17 NIV)

You are not alone.

God sees, hears, and forgives you.

Often our problem is not with God forgiving us,
but in us forgiving ourselves.
God has forgiven us long ago, but we still carry the guilt.

Life is not futile, it is full.
It's just that everything in life is not pleasant.

You have considered ending it all.
What you have not considered is that ending it may put you in a
far worse place.

Believe it, there are much worse places and conditions.

You are ready to give up because you think no one cares.
You honestly feel that you are alone.
If only you could see the angels that surround you.
If only you knew the things that you have been kept from.
If only you knew the disasters you have been protected against.

Soldiers in the natural and the spiritual realms are on duty
right now to protect YOU.

When my 13-month-old son is sick, he feels terrible.
He wonders why he is sick.

He is unaware of all of the love that surrounds him because he
can only feel the pain of his sickness. When he is congested
and has trouble breathing; all he knows is that he feels like
he is suffocating.

Each breath that you take is a gift.

Even when it is hard to breathe,
you are still surrounded by love.

You are not alone. Know this.

To the person who submitted a prayer request to MountainWings
in desperation and despair, (you know who you are)
and to all others this applies to

...this is for you.

You are not alone.

Encouraged to share by MountainWings
