New fish and plants in the tank!

Friday, April 06, 2012

I'm so glad my son and DIL are so understanding about me and all my issues. My son came over to bring me to PetSmart and it took nearly two hours before I felt brave enough to leave the house (was a bad IBS day). Made it there and back with about 2 minutes to spare till I was in the bathroom again. Geez! This is why I am basically housebound--LOL!

Anyways, lots of new plants and a few fish. I'll try to post a picture. Was a good day. Made it out and about.

Well, I tried to add a picture to the blog here but I don't see it. I'll have to get used to how things work around here these days. emoticon

I find them relaxing, too--if you don't have aggressive fish--LOL! emoticon
My cat, Karma, makes me laugh every day.

Watching fish in a tank is so calming and relaxing. I used to really enjoy mine when I had one years ago. I still like to go to the pet store and walk down the tropical fish isle and enjoy them. My tow cats now keep me busy and entertained.
Glad you could get out and have fun shopping.

Carolian--Somebody just told me they have an app that tells you where the nearest lavatory is no matter where you are! It would come in handy, though. Yes, IBS can be debilitating. I can sympathize with Ian.

How nice you had a successful trip out... I trust it will confirm that you can have more of them! It's really nice to be able to get out of the house even if it's just to the store.

Looking forward to your pictures... blessings

Ah, my snail life!

Thursday, April 05, 2012

Seems like it was just last week I was here and it was mid-March! Goodness gracious! I am doing an A to Z blogging thing for April and it has been fun! You can check out my blog here:
I had company for my birthday on March 28th when I turned 61. I did have a carrot cake muffin and some chocolates my BFF from Wisconsin brought with her on her visit, but other than that I've been being good about staying away from blatant sweets.
Just ordered some arts and craft supplies for my birthday that will be coming in the next week or so and my son is bringing me to PetSmart tomorrow to pick out fish and plants for my 10 gallon aquarium (also for my birthday). Life is good!! emoticon

Jinlynn--Oh, that's a great idea for a journal, too! You could pick an actual theme if you wanted rather than my non-theme, too--LOL! It's been kind of fun. I think I might do it next year, too.

Happy Belated Birthday. And I like your A-Z challenge idea - I may have missed April 1st, but I think I will start following that idea in my journal.
Thanks for sharing.

LosingLinndy--Thanks! It was a good birthday. I usually have then pass practically unnoticed, so this was special.

Rhondabelle--I used to have a 30 gallon and downsized to my old ten due to space issues. I've always had fish, cats, and birds. But right now I don't have any birds. I think watching them is relaxing, too, as well as hearing the bubbles and the pump, I guess--LOL!

Try, try again, right?

Been away for years again. Where did the time go?

I've been blogging all this time, still do occasional videos on youtube, and have continued with the arts and crafts. This past fall I added art journaling, a doodle book, and mandalas to my long list of rotating projects.

I've also gotten the sewing machine out after ten years and had it cleaned, oiled, and checked. Want to try to sew my own book covers/journal covers.

I've only lost 8 lbs from my old weight on here, so I am starting my ticker over to lose another 20. I became a vegetarian almost two years ago. Well, pescatarian, as I do eat fish. Just got the books The China Study and Forks Over Knives and have some reading to do.

Still housebound and can't exercise more than a few minutes at a time. The hips, lower back, and knees are worse than they were on '09 when I was here last. Seven years of being home 24/7 and basically a chair and couch potato...I guess I'm lucky I lost 8 pounds--LOL! emoticon

Here we go again. New start. emoticon

I look forward to your blogs. SparkPeople now has a Lifestyle section for those of us who are disabled in some way. It is new and I have not had time to really check it out. I will leave the link for you in Inner Journey on the thread Journey Cafe.

Hugs, Gaylinn

Hehe! I never would have guessed that I'd be making youtube videos!! And I am surprised that I have been so faithful with my blog--for over two years now. Still working on various arts and crafts. Latest has been learning how to make my own watercolor journals--book binding. I have really enjoyed that.

I will have to try and get back here to Sparks more often. I have been away such a long time and I need the reminders to be taking better care of this old body--hehe!

So nice to hear from you!! emoticon
