Setbacks and Steps Ahead (Insanity day 2!)

Hello and happy new year! I got strep throat shortly after my last post, so I missed out on my running goal as well as my very first Zumba gig :( However, I am now my Zumba instructor's (volunteer) assistant, so that's nice! (Anyone hiring??) Also, I've started a new goal of completing the Insanity system, and let me say it IS insane.

I just wanted to give a super duper quick update. I'll log in again soon to share my fit test results from day 1.

60,000 Crunches and a special surprise!

Hi sparkpeople! It's been a while, but I just wanted to update any readers on my latest accomplishment. I've completed about 60,000 ab exercises (crunches, side crunches, double crunches, standing oblique crunches, you named it I crunched it!) in approx. 65 days! If I can do it ANYONE can.

My next challenge to myself is to run 6 consecutive miles nonstop by Christmas. I didn't give myself a time limit, but I hope to see myself do this with a 10min mile.

Now for the special surprise: I am going to be certified to teach Zumba on December 4th! I can't wait!!!

    Hi Jibbie! Nice to see ya again :) I would be into what Dr. Sears is saying if I didn't love how cardio made me feel!!! I guess I'm addicted to the endorphin rush.

    check out AL SEARS, M.D. on the internet and his "PACE" exercise program which takes 12 minutes. I've learned so much from reading his book and watching his videos.

Gone, but Not Forgetting

Hello! It's been a while... but it's because I got a job! I'm back in my happy place, teaching preschoolers at a great program. I'm really enjoying our current unit, All About Me! It gives me an excuse to teach them all about how to take care of their bodies by eating healthy foods and exercising. We are having such great fun, and I'm getting exercise during the day as well.

My food entry hasn't been all that great, but I have been trying to stay aware of my body and stopping when I'm full. I'll admit, a couple times since I've been back, the Panera and Penn Station sandwiches wouldn't let me cease at the right moment :) However, for the most part I'm staying pretty consistent on not eating when I'm not hungry.

As far as exercise goes, I found out that I am able to do a standard pushup! I'm very excited about that :) I've been sticking with Zumba and the Spartacus (all 3 rounds now!) workout for the last few weeks, but I just moved into my new apartment and am looking forward to purchasing some running shoes to use on the treadmill downstairs.

I'm down 3 pounds, which isn't amazing, but I feel much stronger and am happy that my weight isn't going up.
