A Heat Wave Is NOT the Crave

After eating a nutritious breakfast of high fiber bran flakes, non-fat milk, and a banana, I head over to my daughter's track meet.
Oh no, what do I discover? 93% humidity.
The temp outside: 87 degrees (feels like 90)
The southern heat wave is causing me to feel irritable and discouraged.
My poor child and the rest of the family is suffering.
While sitting along the sidelines with the other dejected, overheated parents, we cheer our kiddos on with tolerable smiles and sweaty palms- as parents do.
Let's just say, "A heatwave was not the crave" today.
Alas, my daughter did very well and continues to make us all so proud of her

So I ate like it was "The Last Supper", reluctantly I decided to track it ALL.
Scrolling down to the bottom of the page, I found that I only went over by 3 points in the "fats" category. Woo!!! Hoo!!!
The epiphany, the amount of fruits and veggies I consumed - 5 total.
After "pigging out" on blue crabs, sausage pieces, new potatoes, and some seafood mix all well-seasoned with spices, I KNEW I would suffer "tracking consequences". Low and behold I was pleasantly surprised.
So I encourage others to fill up on the better choices so they can be pleasantly surprised and discover the "epiphany" that I have.

From the grays to the blues

Heading from home to the weekly track meet for my child, we encounter gray skies, trickling, non-tickling rainfall. It begins as a slight drizzle, yet as time progresses, so does the rainfall.
Torrential rains and lightening-filled skies cause my sinuses to become discombobulated.
The meet is cancelled and the crowds disperse.
Finally back home, I rest. One and a half hours of sleep; I feel refreshed.
Looking outside, sunny blue skies smile with graceful beauty.
It feels good going from the "grays" to the "blues".

I am TIRED and took a late (brief) nap.
Trust me. I AM going to work out. It's 9:35pm.
I am about to do some strength training and jog in place for 15 minutes.
My daughter has a track meet this week, so I look forward to her energy.

It's not the BEST plan, but it'll have to do for now to get in my 30minutes for today.
Next week, I WILL keep my workout schedule or adjust accordingly.
