December Goals...Moving on...for real this time!

emoticon I must admit, I felt like a giddy teenager when my husband said we need to prepare to transition back home. I thought, "Dang! This hunk really is ready now!" Maybe the sighs and frustrating looks on my face may have been a clue about how I felt about the years of being apart from my house after Hurricane Ike.

I can really relate to how it feels when your family has been struck by a natural disaster. Four long, "living out of a suitcase" years...and finally HOME!

So you may have thought that I was going to mention my fitness and nutrition here, but my #1 GOAL is to GO HOME!

Don't get me wrong, I will get in the water (pissing like a racehorse has become second nature to me now).
I will ST 4 times per week.
I will spend QT with my family including fishing to help de-stress.
I will stay within my calorie range 5 days/ week.

Yes. December...My hubby b-day.
Christmas...my wedding anniversary!
End of 2012.. Lots of reflection!

I suppose that covers it for now...

    emoticon on going home! I relocated two years ago for work and the new area just started feeling like my "normal" a month or so ago. I love and miss my family but I'm glad to have the experience of being in another place for a while. I can't imagine longing for home. I'm very happy for you!

    I am so happy you get to go home! I know when you aren't living in the place you want, everything is a little bit more stressful and a little bit more sad! I will also be moving to a house after 8 years of living in apartments, the last two especially rough because I was sharing a bathroom with my hoarder mother (at least that's what it looks like in the bathroom).

Keep up the good work, and if you have a lot of stuff, moving can be a real workout too!

Making Monday Matter...

The plan:

Eat a serving of nutritious bowl of cereal w/ low fat milk.
Drop off daughter at school with her 3D animal cell model. (She loves Science).
Suprise my team members with Thanksgiving cards in their mailboxes. Shhhhh!
Review assessment results and have students create individual plans of improvement.

Planning period, I'm creating lesson plans for the week after the break.
After school, I'll tutor those who show up. emoticon

After work, I'm changing and walking/ jogging too (if the mood strikes) emoticon for a total of 3 - 4 miles. emoticon Gotta make sure my cell is charged for upbeat music...

Upon returning home, I'm showering, eating, and grading 2-5 book reports.
Just love the way I'm pacing myself.

Lastly, snuggle time with the hubby! emoticon

Today - Small Break (Rest)...Parenting

Just being a parent today.
I tested, taught, and attended a faculty meeting.
After work, I spent time with my 9-year-old son.
I just enjoyed parenting and resting at home.
No grading papers.

No meditating on today's happenings.

Just resting and taking a small break.
This feels good!

Now, off to bed...Zzzzzzz!

Tragedy...Stress...Now? Moving on with life...

As you have all discovered from reading my last blog, I have had some undesirable moments in my work life. It's one thing to deal with daily stress of a job, but when colleagues die back-to-back and your environment is unsafe, it's a whole other ball game we're playing.

I have re-started my fitness regime and eating habits have tapered off again. Although I have had a few slumps, I am back in the saddle and riding high again. The emoticon hasn't taken my joy in spite of setbacks.

This week's goal:
Fitness: 200 minutes
Nutrition: stay w/in calorie range daily
Water: 6-8 glasses daily
Huddle: daily huddle with each team 3 times
