Taking Over...feeling responsible & embracing the need

At first, I thought..."Do I always have to be responsible and defend my right as an educator to be given TIME to teach?"

Reality- Nope!

So I have decided to embrace the confidence my principal has in me and have a Nike attitude, "Just do it."

So Friday, I lead the team meeting and I plan to give colleagues the time they need to complete tasks such as lesson plans and a reading that we are required to complete.

We're such an awesome campus.

Educator Extraordinaire. Way to take back educating from the bureaucrats. I for one, am excited for you and your students. Adrian has a great team of teachers this year so far. Today the scripture reading came from John 11:1-28.
I prayed to receive today's message with an humble, receptive heart and mind.

Needless to say, I needed to get this word. "delayed doesn't mean denied"

Oh how this stands out and resonate in my soul! After much despair and some feelings of defeat on my job, I felt like a crisis hit our campus and somehow I felt as if we were stuck in a "man" hole...pun intended. Yes, a man-made hole...

Yet, the message (to sum it all up) is that things are possible if we believe. My deliverance is BIGGER than me. I am a vessel for others' deliverances.
I immediately knew this meant my students. Not going to let beaucratic tape wind itself around my babies and ruin their future.

The resurrection of quality education is theirs. I AM the deliverer!

Lying on a soft, cotton-filled cloud of sweet comfort. My eyes slowly follow the sandman's lullaby as he takes my mind into sudden oblivion.
I hear sounds of calming, tingling mystical notes of angel's harps.

Making it all Matter

Thrudging through each work day with hope that my students will be successful on a new state assessment has me on edge. I'm blessed to be employed nevertheless. Sometimes I do wonder why higher ups expect single-handed miracles in a bottle in 2 seconds or less...miracle in motion babies!

So I have to confess that I'm not giving up like some defeated sucker. Oh he&$ no!

I'm gonna ride this success train until I can't stand it anymore. Oh yes, I refuse to give in to unrealistic deadlines or central office demands on "nowness". I will have a group of successful lads whose stats are gonna blow the roof off the mother trucker!

Crazy...maybe...but never impossible. Failure is not an option while I capture kid's hearts. So there. Got that off my chest! Whew!

Here goes...
I did 20...yes 20 minutes of recorded fitness this week.
(Head shaking moment of diappointment in self)

Between work, personal life, and mommy tasks, I have slipped down a slippery slope of ...NOT WORKING OUT!

SOooooo....I have been a naughty girl, BUT...

Today I WILL do strength and cardio -
Tomorrow morning before the crack of dawn, I am walking
