Widows- Central Oregon- Saturday- Redmond- Encouragement

Monday, May 13, 2013

Saturday the 18th, I am speaking to the Widow. I was widowed in 2005. I spent almost three years at the Widow's Ministry Center in Tennessee... when they were having seminars for the Widow. I left there in 2009, a year after my car accident... to move to Oregon. Now I am married again, but have a lot to help the Widow... and encourage her in her life. I am one of the break-out speakers at the Three Sisters Womens Conference. And if there is a need and interest I will do more teaching - for the widow- after this conference. My talk is entitled, The Widow, Her Healing, Her Purpose, Her Re-activation, Her Assignment. This talk is geared towards Christian Women, but most women would be encouraged, widow or not. And if not a believer in Christ, my story may inspire one to ponder the Love of God... for not only widows, but for everyone. I am asking for prayers here... as it has been a long time since I have spoken or sang. I will be doing both at the conference. The prayers are certainly needed - not just for me, but the main speaker, Becky Brown I hear is excellent. There are two other break-out speakers- and it is for women of all ages... married, single, or widowed.

Mtn View Church, Redmond Or is hosting the conference. If you look up the Three Sisters Women's Conference, Redmond , OREGON you can find more information. Thanks for the prayers... my voice is much lower and much more limited since the month in the hospital with a trachia. The damage took my high range. I am going to sing... lower... and pray God will bless the listeners.

Saturday, May 04, 2013

I'm not progressing... but holding ground. Time to step it up a bit for the end of a contest is in sight. I would like to at least place... Biggest Local Loser contest... we'll see. I am please that I have made healthy changes... but so easy to fall back to old patterns. I need to keep coming to this site. It keeps me thinking and aware of my life goals... keeps me focused to do what it is I always wanted to do... get healthy again.

Yes, it is so easy to fall into old practices and habits and takes so much work to stick with the plan. But, if you say you are not losing ground, then I think you are actually gaining on it in a good way. That is an achievement in itself!! emoticon emoticon

My back hurts again...

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

OK, I was so excited because I started walking (not in the lazy river at the aquatic center) but three to four miles, on land. I thought my back was ok. But today... way too much pain and my doctor is gone till 29th. I would go today. I want to walk... but after damaging my back and breaking it and my neck... I am worried I might be damaging myself. I am in pain and have knots.

Give yourself some rest and hopefully the pain will subside. When it feels better, start slow. Best wishes for a pain free night and a healing sleep.

Do take it easy and I hope the Dr. can help lessen your pain if you still are in pain by the time he's back in his office. I'll be also saying a prayer of healing and that your pain is gone very soon. Take good care of Yourself.

Hugs,

Best NOT to overdo it. I developed a stress fracture in my leg by overdoing it. That winds up setting you back even more. It WILL happen girl, just don't push it.

Progress is slow but steady- Halleluiah

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

TOday if the scale is not lying, I lost two more pounds and have gone below where I have seemed to plateau! Sunday Hubby and I walked to church- a three mile hike both ways. I am hoping I can continue as my back pain seems to be coming back. Walking in the water at the aquatic center doesn't do that. No pain later. Having broken my back and neck yrs ago... I am hoping I can continue...

For now, I am happy. I am moving. Losing weight. It feels good.

Thanks to all the encouragers who keep cheering me on. You guys are so incredibly positive and helpful. Thank you!

You need to do what works for you. Walking to church with hubby is nice but NOT if it hurts your back too much. Walking in the water is great and maybe you can take some shorter walks and build up to another walk to church. Sorry you are in pain.

With every pound lost, the walking will get easier, but you need to listen to your body's signals and not overdo. Take care!

emoticon That's great! Just remember that sometimes you have to work up to that 6 mile roundtrip hike!! I've done a 5K, but never 6 miles in one day! Sounds like you are doing great. Keep up the hard work...it will pay off! Hugs, jeannie
