I made it through the holidays without too much trouble. I'm grateful that I had a good mindset which I think is half the game. I stayed active and ate right, and didn't use the holiday as an "excuse" to do whatever I wanted...
I even ran on Christmas Day and New Year's Day because it was scheduled. I'm pleased I accomplished this, and am keeping my eyes on the goal.
I even ran my first 5 mile run last week, which felt incredible. I wasn't sure if 5 miles would be too much, but I was able to accomplish it by looking at it ONE MILE at a time...

I had made a small goal for myself to see the 220's by New Year's and I happily reached that goal today. I bumped from 230 down to 229 today. By setting small goals for myself along the way, it helps me keep focused, rather than get overwhelmed by the big task at hand.
My next goal is to see the number 220. It's less than 10 pounds away, and I know it's a reachable goal...I've come down from 257 and I'm heading towards 150, but my mind only truly focuses on that small bit at a time...which takes a lot of stress off of me - by looking at smaller increments.
Good luck to everyone on their own personal journeys.

25 feels like a milestone...we like rounded numbers in society. 10, 25, things that have a nice ring to it! LOL
Anyway, my goal is to go to the store and lift a 25 pound bag of dog food so that I can have perspective as to what 25 pounds feels like. I need to relish in this - because I have a big challenge ahead. I have more than 80 pounds to go still....
...but I must celebrate my changes so far!
One day at a time, one meal at a time, one workout at a time I'll reach my goal.

Got in a 3 mile run last night - using my Marathoning for Mortals training program. Also the scale continues to move in the direction I like. I'm now at a total of 24 pounds lost.
I feel like I'm in the zone and am not struggling at all. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything, as I eat out a couple times a week and just adjust what I order so I enjoy the experience, while realizing I don't have to have a fat/calorie heavy meal because I'm at a restaurant....now it's salads with protein, and omit things like cheese or sugar/fat loaded dressings.

I've now lost a total of 22 pounds, and just lost another inch off my hips and waist. It's happening, this is real -- and I'm blown away. I'm seeing my body change right before my eyes, and I feel so incredibly thrilled that it's happening.
I've struggled so much in the past with different programs, but this is allowing me to see change, and help me realize my metabolism is kicking back on.
**I see a doctor every single week to monitor my program...Please check with a medical professional if you're going to start a new plan, as there is more going on inside your body than you think about!
