high school football

i am sitting here tracking and listening to the local high school football bowl game.
my team is winning at the moment, did you ever notice how biased the announcers sound? it is almost as if they are disappointed that the team is winning and they just cannot understand why the other team is losing.
ticks me off, i am happy at the moment my team is ahead by 18 in the 4th quarter.
i miss football season, when my son played, i worked the boosters, i was the treasurer and i worked the concessions and fund raisers.
it kept me busy during this time of year, and we had a tradition....every friday night... after the game, on the way home, we would stop off at the grocery and pick up cans of chicken noodle soup, as it was usually chilly at night, and come home and eat soup....and watch the highlights on the news.
i miss those days.
i have gone over my calories today, i dont know, im not obsessing over it, but disappointed, dont know why i did it.....i just felt like eating.
i hope everyone has a good weekend and GO WATCH SOME FOOTBALL....

well, so far, today has been an ok day....i stayed within my calorie range, and enjoyed a nice lunch and snack....
but, doom, doom, doom, the day aint over yet....
this time of day is when i begin my fall, i have a good supper, and oh man, i even enjoyed some nice apricot preserves, (i need to look for a recipe for that).........
but, will i be able to maintain thru the evening?
i am sure going to try.
right now, at this moment, sitting here, blogging, i have had a good day.

    Evening is my hardest time too. I have to make sure I've saved enough calories to eat a healthy but substntial dinner so that I'm not tempted to snack later out of hunger. I've also learned to make myself a nice big mug of herbal (decaf) tea each night - it soothes me, fills my tummy, helps me unwind, and keeps me hydrated. Reading Spark articles on those eves I'm at risk of filling a void with food also helps me keep focused.

i am not a uber religious person, but there are times when prayer is all that can ease a worried mind, for those of you who believe in the power of prayer, i ask you to keep my son, jason, in your prayers tonight, he is traveling 4 hours alone to louisville, ky in a not so reliable car, and back on thursday, he is going to visit a good friend who is getting ready to be deployed to iraq.....and also pray for the friend that he makes it home safely....
so, until i hear from him, im nervous and so im trying to stay busy and out of the kitchen tonight...
it has been 2 long days of doctor appts, i have pt 2 times this week and thursday, so far, is the only day when i have nothing on the agenda.....boy, i hope it s a nice cool peaceful day....

    I am sure he will never regret the journey to KY to be with his friend. I'll keep him in my prayers this week...Let us know when he is back safe and sound...
Good luck with all the doctor appointments. At least you will have something else to keep you busy while he's gone.

finally a break...

well i finally made it to the beauty salon and got my hair cut and my highlights, i feel so much better, it was sooo hot again today, it felt good to get rid of the extra hair...i have done so so the last 2 days, have gone over calories just a smidge...
but, i am drinking my water and i went and looked at recumbant bikes at kmart today, so, that is my birthday wish gift from hubby this year...since they are on sale, im trying to convince him to just go ahead and get it a month early....
i sure hope we get a break from the heat soon it just seems this has been the hottest summer in forever...i so dread to see my electric bill next month.
i sure hope all of you have a great weekend and stay on track and try to stay cool....
i hope my pic is viewable, will add some more soon....

So today I had physical therapy, and I was told, I can start back on the walking track. Slowly, he said, about 5 minutes to start about 2 times a week, hardly seemed worth it, but, its a start, and since Sat, I walked all around the super Walmart for the first time since before my June 4th injury, he seemed to think I can do little bits at a time.

I am still using the recumbant bike and leg press and still cannot straighten my leg fully, alot of pain today. The weather? Started out hot hot hot, CALIENTE!!!!....and is still hot, but, we did get some good heavy rain, which parts of the area do not need because they are still cleaning up from the flood damage.
But I enjoyed the showers, it cooled things down some. I have stayed on track today and saved up some calories for my late snacking problem, but, tonight if I get a craving, I am set, I have WW chocolate desserts, for my sweet tooth, and baked chips for my crunch craving or carrot sticks and I have yogurt and mangos.....
I get my hair done on Friday, thank you to the Gods of Hair....because I need it badly....
I am forcing myself to use the cpap mask, today I took an hour nap and used it, although, I only actually napped about 30 minutes, the rest of the time I was fighting to keep air from leaking out.
I take the machine in on Friday to have the setting changed and I am taking my mask to see if the technician can recommend a new one or show me some trick to work better with the one I have.
Now, the only downside news I have, my car, its still leaking and had to put it under cover again....I spoke to a good friend who works on cars and he said have all that drainage vents or hoses removed and checked for clogs and replaced....
So, hopefully by next week that will be taken care of...and, hopefully, I will be down 3lbs by next Wednesday, that is my goal....I cant burn alot of calories walking, I am weight lifting and I am going to start adding more as I can....Hopefully this heat breaks by Sept, I will be back on the walking track everyday.
