a break, in my minds eye

Thursday, April 05, 2012

i love the people in my life, for the most part, i do however, and i know this is my own fault mostly, dislike their eating habits and the fact that, i have to work so hard to stick to a plan with so much temptation around.
but, i know that is my lot in life and i have to make my own choices and do what i have to do
i sometimes just wish, i could just go away, alone, do you ever feel that way????
just go to some mountain cabin, or house by the sea, alone, just sit and reflect on life and enjoy some alone time....
no phones or neighbors or hubbies or kids or computers
just me, and nature and maybe a good book....
oh well, back to folding laundry

I understand your frustrations with the way your family eats but when you remind yourself why you want to live a healthier life, then it becomes a little easier. :)

While I love the idea of going to the log cabbin in the mountains or a beach house,
I never felt that way. I grew up with a very small family and I always wished I had a bigger family and all the craziness that comes with it. Still, I do understand where your coming from and I could see why that would drive someone to want to escape to a scenic and quiet place. :)

update on my sons hand

Friday, March 16, 2012

I wanted to thank everyone who commented on my last blog about my sons hand.
I took him back to the er today to have the packing removed and the wound checked and found out they should have waited one more day.
But the doc who was there said they did a culture yesterday and hopefully will have that back by Sunday and if its staph he will be sent on Monday to the infectious disease specialist.
They said he just needs to keep taking his antibiotics and they put a splint on it and told him to keep it elevated as best he can.
We have no idea how this occurred, he has tried to remember what might have happened, as a stocker in a grocery store, he is constantly opening boxes, he says he gets paper cuts nearly every other day and has to keep a box cutter with him, he was also sorting thru a box of broken pickle jars a few days ago and said he might possibly have knicked his finger and just didnt realize it.
He also replaced a coil pack in his car last week and thought it might be possible that he knicked it on a screwdriver or something.
We originally thought it might be a spider bite and the doc in the first er he went to said its very possible.
But they listed it as cellulitis, and didnt put a accident or illness, he has no insurance, but he has an insurance policy that pays him back out of pocket expenses and time off from work.
So, he cant return to work until at least Monday, possibly longer according to how it looks and if its staph or not.
I sure hope we can get some resolution, it looks so awful I dont dare put a pic on here.
Thanks for the concern and I will update again soon.

Sounds like you have been busy with dr. visits and that can wear you down.We don't like to see our children suffer, I think it hurts us more than it does them. You and your son will be in my thoughts and prayers. Just hope it isn't staph.

if u are squeamish, dont open

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Not gonna spend alot of time Sparking tonight. Got up at 7am to take my son to the ER, he had some kind of cut or bite on his hand and he had gone to the doctor a few days ago and was told it was cellulitis, given antibiotics and sent home.
But it got worse and began to spread up into his hand, and the er doc he seen today said it was an abcess most likely from a spiderbite.
he had to lance it and drain infection and my son was in alot of pain and the fact that he is a recovering addict, with 10 months clean in NA, made it harder cause he refuses narcotics.
They gave him torodal and told him to come back tomorrow for a wound check and bandage change.
They, nor the doc he went to the other day took any blood to see if it might possibly be staph. He works as a stocker in a grocery store and comes into contact with alot of boxes and uses a box cutter and also comes into contact with alot of people. So, who knows.
I sure hope it isnt.
Will keep a close watch for a few days, my back is aching like heck tonight, so not going to be online much longer, thinking I will catch the finale of Jersey Shore and to be by 11.
Here is a pic, dont look if you are squeamish, I will take one tomorrow to see if there has been any reduction in swelling, etc.
Thanks friends for putting up with my meanderings.

I feel so sorry for him. That finger looks so painful. Good for him for refusing narcotics.

Hugs, Gaylinn

shiney happy people

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Last night my son had to go to the ER, he had a very small cut or bite of some kind on his knuckle and it began to swell and spread thru his hand and was beginning to hurt, so they told him he had cellulitis.....I had suspected a spider bite.
They gave him bactrim, and that was about it, I am going to go to the drug store and look for some skin infection wash or cream.....I sure am hoping it isnt a bad case of cellulitis, that can spread thru the blood and lymph nodes.
Hopefully the antibiotics will clear it up.
As for me, I went to the store last night, came home and turned on Hoarders, and started cleaning my house.
I cleaned out all my bedroom drawers, and bagged up one bag of clothes to give away.
And today I am going to tackle honey's closet, he has at least 14 pairs of jeans, and I said to him, how can you wear more than one pair at a time, with one maybe two back up pairs, I told him I am giving away at least 6 pairs!!!
We cleaned our living room and kitchen and he washed dishes, I so wish I had gotten a pic cause it will probably never happen again, now I have to tackle the bathroom, rubber gloves, a gallon or two of bleach and a hazmat suit should be on my shopping list!!!

Yup... watching Hoarders can be dangerous if you're not prepared for a cleaning frenzy! I think it is about time for me to watch another one so I can be inspired to clean my house... it's about spring cleaning time! Good luck on your cleaning frenzy!!!

wishes my broom would sweep on its own

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

so i have seen all these ppl on facebook posting pics of brooms standing girl said you have to work at it, takes awhile....hmmm, im not convinced this has anything to do with the aligning of the planets, or magic tricks or witchcraft,
im not sure what makes it happen....
but, i know they had to have a human hand in it
has nothing to do with the equinox or whatever,
heck, i wish my boobs would stand on their own, i would pay for that, and someday i probably will, haha
have had an ok day, we did have some heavy rain and thunder, but parts of ky got hit pretty hard by storms, even as close as an hour away got some really heavy wind damage.
my son is here now, hes only stayed here a bout 3 or 4 nights, but his dog is here, and it hasnt been too bad, his dog Fez is a pretty calm natured dog, he isnt very playful, and doesnt require alot of attention, which is strange because hes part jack russell....
you would never know hes around, but a couple of times aday he wants to go out
he doesnt run around investigating the yard, he goes out does his business and right back inside he comes....
its just taking some getting used to, and maybe honey will get a few days off soon so the two of us can go off together and spend some time alone....
im not falling into a routine of becoming responsible for the care of this dog, i am not going to make this my dog and get that attached to him
some day i might get another dog to love, but its gonna be awhile, its been 5 weeks since my dog died and i am still mourning for him
but i am doing better
im back riding my bike and trying to get back into a routine and just trying to do the best i can....
hope everyone is doing well.
