Yesterday I used a pedometer as soon as I got to work because I walk back and forth all day between the front desk and the women's dorm. I was surprised to see that I had walked over a mile! 5,440 steps! That was not counting the walking I do after work, and the many times I go up and down the stairs at home! I was wondering....do these steps count, since I go up and down the stairs every day, several times a day? I have read that if you do the same thing everyday, you will reach a plateau as your body becomes used to it, but even so, just being active is healthier than just sitting all day!

I really enjoy Sparkpeople! I am still learning how to use this site, but it really helps me to stay on track. I am noticing now that I look at my nutrition reports and am deciding on what to eat for my next meal, by what I need according to the report!

Today I am working until 2 pm, so I won't be able to attend church, but the Salvation Army brings the service here each Sunday, so I do get to get in a little worship time while I'm at work.

Went out to dinner with my co-worker last night at Stonebrook. It was really nice! We only talked about work for about 2 minutes. It was fun getting to know her, other than at work, and seeing the real person, not just the professional person, and it was a great dinner!

I really want to get back to the gym this week! One of my other co-workers broke her toe, so I will be working 5 days this week, which is great for me, but not so great for her:(

I love starting my day with Sparkpeople! this is a great site. A place to journal my thoughts and keep track of my nutrition and fitness, plus I enjoy the word games and the articles, whoever came up with site, I would just like to say thank you, and GOOD JOB!!

I really am beginning to feel a difference in my belly! Hooray! When I bend down to tie my shoes, it's a little easier! That is my biggest goal, to get rid of this belly fat, and to breathe easier. I am making progress!

Graduation party!

Lastnight, I was given a graduation party at the homeless shelter where I work! Major Mary gave me a Women's Devotional Bible in a beautiful purple Bible carrier purse. Some of the ladies that live in the shelter attended and said some of the nicest things anyone has ever said about me! It was really moving! I really felt honored to be a part of their lives!

Praise God that they are all getting their own places and moving on with the new stimulous housing program, but I will miss them all.

Praise God that all the miners are now at of the mine! I witnessed a miracle yesterday as they all came out, one by one!

Seeing results!

Yesterday at the gym, I weighed and have lost 2 pounds, but better than that--I noticed on the treadmill that my heart rate has gone from 130, while doing 10 minutes at 3 mph, to 120!

While doing the bicycle my heart rate was 120 when I started a couple of weeks ago, and is now at 111 while bicycling for 10 minutes at 46-50 rpms! So I feel like I am definitely improving!

Also, when I did Yoga on Monday, I lasted for 45 minutes compared to the 30 minutes when I started. It was also easier to do compared to the last time! I had more flexibility and balance, and was able to endure longer.



I haven't lost much weight but I can sure feel the difference when I bend down to tie my shoes, and I see the difference in my heart rate doing the same thing, at the same speed, for the same amount of time, as when I first started.

I will no longer worry about the scale, but will focus on strength, balance, and flexibility! I am so much more motivated to continue my fitness plan and I owe most of it to Sparkpeople!

This site keeps me on track and motivates me to exercise even when I don't really feel like it. I am watching what I eat more now, knowing I will be entering it in the nutrition tracker, and I can see what foods I need more or less of throughout the day.

    Awesome job!! Personally I haven't noticed much for results weight-wise, but I can feel it in the way I walk and the amount of energy I have. I don't feel as sluggish and that is enough to keep me going!!
