I bet it's the protein from the eggs that helped get you through to lunch. Carbs (like in cereal) won't sustain you as long as protein does.

day two coming to an end.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

I worked 11.5 hours came home and made my niece exercise with me......we did 50 squats since she read about a 30 day squat challenge......now my legs feel like jello and we did a 25 minute yoga routine.........tomorrow is definitely cardio...................so now the question is..........do I step on the scale every day or once a week???

The scales tend to show a gain when you start exercising....don't be discouraged if they do. Just keep Sparkin'!!

I weigh myself every day, sometimes multiple times a day, but I only "officially" weigh-in once a week. So if my weight goes up and down throughout the week, the only weigh-in that really matters is the official one.

You will do this! You can't change what's already passed. You can only change the future.

Don't be ashamed, I once went from 207 to 147 and I'm currently 189. It happens. It proved to me though that I CAN do it, and you can too! I've struggled all this year, but I'm not giving up. We're in the right place.

Don't be ashamed. Hey, we were all once here on sparkpeople because we realized that. The best thing is that we have realized it and are working on it, no matter how slow or fast. Keep going!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

work with me scale

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

i have avoided the scale at all costs as I watched my weight go up up and away but today I am going to make myself step on the evil thing and see what it says........then I am going to take baby steps.......ten pounds at a time.........I will tackle them as I go.........I lost 70 pounds a years ago and I gained a lot (not all) of it back and I am going to get back where I was when I somehow fell of the plan.......I tried on some shorts that I could fit last summer and I cant button them so I am back to my cotton elastic band shorts............I bought my first pair of skinny jeans and the looked good and I cant button them so those are my starting points get them on and buttoned............once again........so I tracked my food that I am planning on eating today and will see if I can get in some kind of exercise and my challenge today is to step on the evil thing called the scale................I also have told myself I will make a blog a day for the first week then after that once a week but I will track my food daily no matter how bad it is and I will exercise daily............even if it is only 15 minutes...........

I am in the same boat as you. I lost 90 pounds two years ago and have gained 60 of it back. But I returned to SparkPeople three weeks ago and have been tracking my food and exercising regularly and I'm already back down almost 9 pounds. It's weird, but once I get in the grove with tracking and exercising, it seems so easy and makes me wonder why I ever stopped. Let's stay on track this time and remind each other that we can do this!

depressed and tired

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I have a 12 year old daughter (she will be 13 next month) skinny as a pole and loves to go shopping........I hate going shopping........you walk into a store and look at all the cute little summer outfits knowing you cant wear them..........then you go out and see some of your friends were those same outfits knowing once again you cant wear them........so instead of sitting here moping about it I am gonna do something about it........I got up ate right all day got some exercise in and I survived day one with out binging on some cake and ice cream...........I drank a lot of water today which I do like just don't do it often enough......I am getting married in august and I want to be 30 pounds lighter than I am now........I know it can be done since I did it before.............and the other thing I noticed is I feel pretty good right now.......not bloated tired and disgusted..........so I guess it is all good............tomorrow I work 12 hours hope I can stick to it during all that..............

I hear you on the hating shopping. It's the worst. Not only do I get depressed that I can't wear any of the cute clothes, but it's also a lot of physical effort. This past Saturday I was shopping for workout pants (oh the irony!) and we had to go to several different stores and walk the full length of the mall and I was sweating like a pig, sore (my back always hurts if I walk too much in my "street" shoes), and I still didn't find any damned workout pants I wanted! Bah!

The sad part is, when I was at my lowest weight on my Spark Journey, I actually LIKED shopping because I had the physical stamina to do it and I could wear non plus-sized clothes!

I hate shopping too. So yea, I get it. Someday I may also fit into one of those cute little sundresses, until then...just keep plugging along and focus on the small victories. emoticon emoticon

Congratulations on a great day. Keep that determination.

Can you take walking breaks at work? Around the building? I found when I got in slumps, if I took two or three 10 minute walking breaks at work, in addition to maybe a spark people 10 minute video a few evenings a week, the scale started to move.

Good luck to you!
