If you are not the most lovable friend. That was an absolutely wonderful Spark birthday gift. Sister you have got some moves and your beautiful children in the background and foreground were a mega bonus. I had a wonderful birthday with my daughter and yes I did dance.

Crafty Snow

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

EDIT: Um, Family of 7...with 5 children...the bleach was really strong?

I'm keeping my hands busy with things I LIKE! Video games are fun, but, I'm more of a creative soul. I love crafting. I love crochet, knitting, painting in acrylic, sketching, pastels, gardening... you get the idea.

I have a billion (and one) things I am daily obligated to do, but, I need to get get my hands busy doing things that do not involve dumping crap in my mouth to handle my stress or that I am OBLIGED to do. So, I am sharing my thang that I'm into.

[Yes, I am avoiding painting Katie's room, ripping up the rug on the stairs, and the floor in the kitchen like they have the plague. Thank you for asking. All work, and no play makes Lizzy nuts and really chunky.]

Years ago I worked nursery at church with a very extroverted lady that was married to a C.S.I. guy. She was AWESOME. I loved working with her. She was an avid crocheter. The year before I met her she had severe health issues. In order to combat the pain she turned to crocheting instead of food to keep her occupied because the pain sometimes was not perfectly maintained. That year she made 300 crocheted snowflakes and maintained her weight.

The only reason I found out about her Christmas Tree challenge is because her husband (who is one of those adorable husbands who is constantly looking to be proud of his wife; Praise God for Christ-like men), brought in a photo of their Christmas tree. He had seen me knitting up a storm for arrival of my elephant (I mean daughter) and wanting to foster a friendship with his wife, he hunted down their photo to brag on her. I wish I had that photo.

Let me tell you it was gorgeous. Jaw-dropping, envy-of-nations, GORGEOUS! She had that tree with warm white lights (I call them fairy lights), gold beads, and those 300 white crocheted snowflakes of three sizes and varying designs. It was a masterpiece. It was the most elegant Christmas ornament I had ever seen. This photo below is nothing compared to hers, but, I wanted to give you a taste of what I'm aiming for...

I don't know If I can stop at white....I'm eying up the blue sparkle already.....and then the gold was calling my name today.....OH, and of course what happens when I get my hands on the Glow-in-the-dark?!!!!!!

Pandemonium people!!!

I love how I get to know a little bit more about you with every blog :) You make me want to go crochet some snowflakes lol! A friend of mine did lots of bells and gave them as gifts one year. I still have mine and hang it on the tree every year. Snowflakes would be way prettier, especially with the sparkly yarn :)

I love, love, love fall too. The changing of the leaves, temperature is wonderful. You are making me excited to start back hooking myself. Those snowflakes are gorgeous. I might copy you. No, I don't like the metal either. It looks harsh and not dainty. It is never too late or early for a bath. Get wet. emoticon emoticon

It's All About The Moo Moo

Sunday, August 14, 2011

My clothes (wearing a "moo moo"), the stench (smells like a "moo moo"), the breakfast (love to eat it with lots of "moo moo") and the future (gotta make some "moo"la).

I wanted to stay home and deal with hubby is still contemplating, then I saw this looking for cute little cow comics to go with the cow theme. Providential, eh?

I love your Moo moo!! I was just on the hunt for my MooMoo today! It got "put up" on a shelf instead of in my closet!! But Dan just pointed it out and said, You mean this one.... If it was a snake it would have bit me!!! ANyhow.... Glad you are able to get to church... I haven't found one I love yet! And then I was asleep most the day today due to pain last night - into this morning... *sigh*

Thanx for your comments regarding Seth's Schooling. It really frustrates me, and if my health was where it needed to be, I would be home schooling him myself, but with me having days I am not awake, and unable to supervise.. it is difficult to hold school, cuz he will just ignore it, and go play video games and TV all day.

:) Hope You get water back soon!! Toting the water is always a struggle...!!

JoJoe is cute :) I usually do that to Seth's hair too... but Grandma took him to the hair dresser when she was out in July (23rd ish)... and had it cleaned up, and cut nice... but a "5" guard was used. Too long for my liking, but Seth wants it even longer... *shrugs* But he does like the hair cut he currently has.

Hang in there!!! Keep Measuring!!

hee hee...well, I like being a drama mama and I'm quite happy if y'all get a kick out of it. Jojo has just started getting us to write his name including an "e". I'm not sure how long this phase will last. Earlier in the year he insisted we address him as Indiana Jojo (instead of Jones). I was permitted to drop the "Indiana" , if I could successfully peel his costume off of him. I really wish the dang thing did not come with a whip....very difficult task...
Anywho, I LOVE buzz cuts on my boys. I could hug 'em ALL day!
As for the church sign....our new one has a digital clock....which kinda tells me it is more concerned with tardiness?....I like the quotes. Quite possible because I am a tardy individual though.

ROCKSPARK2012 ~ I'm ashamed to say that I have contemplated taking the privilege of gathering with my brothers and sisters for granted. Sometimes I just wanna loaf when hubby bails (he's a serial Deacon, seems to get drafted - I think he's avoiding it at the new place)...So, I am starting to think, "Why bother banging my head against the wall and expending all my energy getting the rest of us going?!" Then the five faces of the future stare at me for direction. Just a few years ago we hadn't the privilege to attend Sundays, but, we hosted Wednesday Night's at our place with Bobby's schedule and I thought I would never get to a place where I would take it for granted. Alas, I am but human and I forget about the valleys of life. Thank you for the reminder to cherish it.

You are wonderful for my ego. Please move in next door. You'll get a wonderful look at all my Moo Moo designs and be absolutely WONDERFUL for my ego. Hubby ditched church to read a book and contemplate Doo Doo Duty and has now enlisted his father's help. It's his father's birthday today. Yay, Dad?!
My Jojo. ADORABLE!!!! I could be biased though....

m glad that you beat the heat. Sans air conditioner in an apartment would be poor TORTURE!!!! Thanks for the silliness, I LOVE it!! I thought I did pretty good on Jojo's hair. I have been at it since Johnny was little (13 yrs). Johnny has had THE WORST hair cuts. For the longest time I was trying to give him the River Phoenix (swing style- the hair from when he was acting as the early Indiana Jones) and it kept turning out like a MONK or SPOCK. It was AWFUL. Now, I'm pretty good.

I knew you'd giggle about my 'Moo moo' theme. You have a funny bone...I know it....

URRICANES?! SERIOUSLY?! How can you be so calm about that? "I just collect water in case of hurricanes..." Say wha?!!! I am NEVER moving to Texas, you guys are too brave for your own good! emoticon

I envy your opportunity to "meet together" today. My work as a retail manager takes me out of worship times 3/4 of the time. I must determine to meet and fellowship with like-minded believers at other times during the week. Enjoy. Don't take it for granted!

"Aw she's losing it....let's watch!!" You are a doll!

Hi Joe-Joe! I love your hair too! When my son was your age he always wore his hair like that and like your mom, I loved to rub his head because it was so soft. He's 22 now and still loves it like that! Of course he's not so keen on me rubbing his head anymore :(

We put a saying on our church sign one time "We Don't Sell Ice Cream But Our Sunday's Are Wonderful!"

Have a wonderful day!!
