Tree decorated

Tuesday, December 06, 2011

So that's good. Ok so I will rearrange and spruce it up a bit...but over all the tree actually looks like one that you would buy decorated at Macy's :). The boys being teenagers weren't thrilled about decorating it. That was sad for me but understandable. So I did get more done than I thought I was going to. Despite myself. I've realized my bad mood has to do with my food choices. It's a vicious circle. I eat bad food because I feel down and then I feel sick which makes me feel down so I eat more bad food. Carbs whether whole grain or white sugar seem to effect me this way. So at least I will work on this. A different approach may help me make better choices. I'm going to Zumba today. Thank God. My mom should be coming. I'm glad she wants to get some exercise. I have some shopping to do. I made up my Christmas cards last night. So today I will work on getting those made out. In-laws are pushing it again....I ran into a friend of my mother in-law at the market last night and thanked me for having her at my home for the party! I was told this was just family! Ugggg....This is the second friend I found out that is coming. We live on a back road with very bad parking for people. Joe agreed we have to have a conversation with them tomorrow night at dinner about this. Uggg....Have a good Tuesday friends!

I don't have my tree up yet. My DH said he would go to the cabin and get a real one but he has not done that yet so I guess I will dig out the fake one! At least it doesn't need water or shed needles.

Take care of yourself, this is still the time to think of you and your health. If you don't, who will? The crazier things get, the worse off you will be if you can't figure things out. I hope that the talk with your in laws helps things.

Oh man! What a thought. Not just family, but their friends too? That's just not right. That's like taking advantage or something. I feel for you.

I hope that you won't end up with problems from your neighbours about the parking issue.

As for the carbs...I'm guilty too. Although, I don't seem to get moody.

Have a cup of tea or something. You need to relax a bit.

Hugs.

Hi Friends

K so not so good choices this morning. I was doing good...eggs with lowfat cheese , ham and broccoli. Sounds good right? Then I ate 2 pieces of pizza. Ugggg... I'm stressing out about this holiday party my in-laws asked to have at our home. The guest list has now popped up to 65ish!!!!!! I keep hearing many won't make it but it seems like when I have something everyone shows up. A compliment but we need to be realistic about things. There will be many children here. I have no choice. This is going to happen. I guess that is my problem. I have a few control issues and I feel out of control about this. My mother in-law is not well. She is the one who asked to get the whole family together. I know she is worried there won't be another Christmas to do it. Who am I to say no? I won't be the daughter in-law who did that. Oh no. Still I'm making bad choices. I need to let go and let God take care of this. I know this. It's not easy. I know this too. One moment at a time here. I will make a list of what I need to do. Feeling bad. Sorry friends. Not my upbeat self. I'll get myself a glass of water. Drink up!

Get yourself on track and do whatever you need to do. Things will happen and you can only ever have true control over yourself and your choices in life.

Wow. Sometimes things can just get out of control quickly. Sit down. Breathe. Make a list. Cross it off one item at a time. You'll be okay.

All you need is to clean your house and since your decorations are already up, that's one thing not to worry about.

As for freaking out. There is no sense in that. I too have family over and the main thing is to have the stuff cooked and ready. If you can't handle it, or it's too overwhelming, maybe you could get some catering done. Or perhaps see if there are people that are willing to help by bringing something, like squares and such. I know that it all adds up and people like to help.

When I go to Mom's for Christmas dinner, I always bring the dessert. I'm sure that you'll manage, even though 65 people is daunting. You are a true go-getter person and I'm sure you'll be able to pull this one off.

Make sure that your boys help you.

Before putting that food in your mouth. breath and then get a glass of water and drink it. Do another if needed.

That way it will fill you up quickly.

I always figure when I invite that many people, about a third will show up.

Good night Sunday.

Sunday, December 04, 2011

It's awfully late for me to be blogging but here I am :)...Good day all around. We went to mass with my in-laws. Then had breakfast at their house. That all went quite well. I then went to a Zumba class. It was my inspiring instructor but I didn't love her playlist. It also could have been the fact that I had a big breakfast a couple hours before hand. It felt like a brick in my stomache. :( Oh well.... It was a good workout. We then went to the local sympony orchestra to watch a Christmas special. Very nice. Josh's girlfriend was in the dance number. She is sweet. After the show we went to dinner for my dad's birthday. Josh and my nephew brought their girlfriends :0...They are growing up so fast.... Chris couldn't come. Of course he was invited :)...Our nephew told hs girlfriend that Adam may bring his boyfriend and she thought that was awesome...She said she's always wanted a gay friend! So hallerious! So now in my pj's and loving this day. Hope all my friends had a great weekend!

Happy Saturday!

Saturday, December 03, 2011

What a nice day so far. Food not great but could be much worse. Adam had his first swim meet and it was awesome. His school one 6 out of 9 events! Yay! Adam did the butterfly and backstroke. He did great! So life is good in the house today. We went to see Muppet Movie last night. OMG soooo fun! Great times. Adam and Chris didn't want to sit with us...of course :(...I'm not enjoying this teenage distance stuff :(. At least Josh sat with us. Not great choices at the movie. Joe was in a mood for all the bad stuff...popcorn and candy. Ugggg...I did partake but I could've been worse. I'm looking forward to Zumba tomorrow. Expend some of those calories. My mother in-law is not well. We aren't sure exactly what is going on but we are worried. She asked if we could have the extended family over for a holiday get together December 17th. This year I really have been avoiding having things at our house. I have had so much going on with adjustments and slight depression that I just didn't have it in me. Luckily I've been in such a better place that my house is already decorated and the tree is up. I'm not really looking forward to what the in-laws expect of me when we have something here. I will take this one day at a time. I'm letting Joe discuss this with his parents. They asked him so I figured I'd let him handle this. We will see. Just to give you an idea if they don't ask to invite any extras I can expect 40 people in my house. Yup.

Great that Adam is in swimming. I'm glad for them for winning quite a few meets there.

Sorry that your MIL is sick. I'm not sure what to think about having forty people over at your house. Are you going to have enough room? Maybe this is exactly what you need for lifting up your spirits. I don't know.

I come from a big family and I know what you mean about getting everyone together. Hope that everything works out for you.

Hang in there with Adam and his teenage stuff, it'll get worse before it gets better. At least you'll have some idea for Josh later on. Glad to hear that you are really feeling better, I know that you're ok when you start getting excited about going to your Zumba! I'll keep you and your sanity in my prayers for the family get together and the in laws.

Hello Friday!

Friday, December 02, 2011

Soooo....interesting voicemail that I received a couple days ago. Friends of ours that we see a few times a year left me this. The husband is a college friend of Joe's. A great family. He is very religous and we've been concerned about how he would react about Adam. Joe has almost talked to him a couple times but hadn't yet. So.... the voicemail was to let me know their daughter was planning on asking Adam to her winter dance. Hmmmm.... so Joe talked to the dad last night and he seemed really good about it. We will see. At least the conversation went well. So two positive responses in one week. That is great! Josh's concert went well. I'm so proud of him. He works so hard and is so responsible about everything. :) I gush :). We are going to see the Muppet Movie tonight. Fun! Lunch was ok. I had a submarine. Hmmm....The sesame seed roll was delicious but all bad carb. I will do better. Have a great weekend!

Sighing in relief for you and your friends. It is good to hear that you are getting positive responses for Adam and the whole family. I really hope things keep working out for you. You have ever reason to gush, you're a proud mommy with good kids to gush over.
