Ready to get this house together. Mom is working today so I won't be distracted. Food not so great yesterday. It could have been worse. I'm back today. 4 day bad food weekend but now normal eating until Christmas! No excuses. So I have a difficult phone call to make. My best friend from high school invited me to a Christmas women's gathering at her home. For those who are long time friends remember how her daughter facebooked with Adam in the Spring about him being gay. She is 18 and was getting ready to leave for college. It didn't go well. One of the things she said was God made liars and theives but he doesn't want them to do those things either. When Adam tried to educate her she said she would pray for him....So I haven't seen my friend since then and now the party is Saturday. I know my friend feels as she does. Sadly I don't believe there is anything that will make things better for us right now so I must decline this party. It's so sad but I will pray that things will change for them.

How sad. Dealing with closemindedness can really suck.

I'll be praying for your friend so that she might be able to deal with this better for her own sake as well of you and everyone else she encounters.

You need to make the decision for you, not for the friend. Sorry you are missing it, but in the long run - listen to your feelings first. HUGS.

How sad for you. As time goes by, you will miss her less and less. Maybe she is trying to be a bigger person by inviting you, but by going, it may cause some tension. There is nothing wrong in declining.

People change. Sometimes they don't.

I have left behind two friends in the past year. I just couldn't be there for them anymore, and I really don't miss them.

It's a shame that people can be so judging of others. I always pray for acceptance and people's general kindness

Good morning Sunday.

We had such a nice night last night. Great friends :). It's Josh's best friends family. The wife is super Christian and this year we haven't talked to them about Adam. Josh had told Connor and he was great about everything. Joe was very concerned about how the wife would handle it. I've been wanting to tell her but didn't want to with the whole family together. I've asked her to meet for coffee but she is so busy she never made time. I understood and actually Joe wanted to tell the husband first so that he could reason with her before we all got together again. So while they guys went to get food Joe brought it up. He was great and said his wife was great too. No problems. Joe thinks its all good so I will go with that. I'm not completely convinced but if their kids are good that is half the battle. They can't be teaching hate if the kids aren't showing it. Right? The husband isn't at all like that but the wife.....we will see. She said she'd love for us all to vacation this summer so she must not have to many issues. We will see. I know it did make me realize that I'm going to have to decline an invite I've received from my best friend from high school. I'll further that discussion tomorrow. Food was not great yesterday but I chalk that up to time of the month. I got my dance in though. Plus! Have a great day!

Things seem to be working out well for you now, at least the day went well with Josh's friends family.

Awesome, sounds like it went great! If she's a true christian, she shouldn't judge. Sounds like you were nervous of being judged. Only God should be doing that. We all know no one is perfect.((((hugs))))

Hi Saturday...

Saturday, November 26, 2011

I brought Adam to swim practice then headed to my hip hop class. Discouraged by how lame a dancer I still am :( . Oh well, one day at a time with that. The boys brought all of the Christmas stuff up from the basement for me. Yay! I'll work on getting the outside stuff done today. The party for my nieces went well last night. Food choices could have been worse...but then I came home and ate the large piece of pecan pie my mother in-law insisted I bring home on Thanksgiving. Ugggg....once again glad I went to my class this morning. I had a bagel this morning. On the top of my temptation list....:( Plain greek yogurt for lunch though. Yum. We are going to our friends house tonight. We haven't gotten together with them in a while. Joe and I went to see Twilight yesterday. It was pretty good actually. The boys went to see Happy Feet with Chris. Adam liked it. So I need to get back to the decorating :). Hope everyone is having a great day!

Way to go on the dancing! I had a couple pieces of sugar pie my mother left for me from Thanksgiving. I googled the nutrition is 669 calories a piece :( so I can relate. Hope you get that decorating done soon.

You're not a lame dancer, you just have your own personal dork style! Good job sharing the exercise with the boys having them bring you the decorations! Shame on your MIL for tempting you with pie, good thing for your classes, right?

    I love greek yogurt! Mmmm.

And I wish I wer brave enough for hip hop classes! I'll stick with my Xbox dance games so no one has to see my awesome moves.

I love Christmas decorating. I envy you a little.

Sounds like a good night for all.

As for the pecan pie...naughty, naughty! I'm sure that you will burn off those extra calories in no time.

Have a good weekend.

Hope everyone had a thankful day!

What a great day I had. Exercise in the am. Breakfast at home with a great friend and loving cousins. Joe really enjoyed making breakfast for all of us. :) We enjoyed eating it :)...Headed over to my sister in-laws around 2pm. That was really nice. Kids were great. Company was fun. I enjoyed visiting and not drinking...never thought I'd be saying that. It seemed I was more in control of what I was saying and expressing. I liked it. Dinner was awesome. Yum...7 teenagers and 16 adults! Yeah! Alot of food....gone! All that work and done in 10 minutes...:) Dessert! Yum....We headed to our friends house. Our friend who is now cancer free after battling lymphoma. He seems great! 8 more months of treatment but we are so thankful! It was nice to spend time with his parents on such a thankful occasion. I did drink there :)...I did notice I didn't just stop at one glass of champagne. Hmmm...something to ponder. I didn't feel great during the night and didn't sleep so well. So....verdict...not enjoying the partaking...So back to tea toddling :) Thats ok. I'm getting very awaring of things and I'm thankful for that as well. Enjoy your day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 24, 2011

Hope all is well for all of my Sparkfriends this Thanksgiving. Enjoy time with family and friends and be good to you! I went to a Zumba fundraiser for our local food pantry. It was great to get a good workout in before all the calories go in :). Josh did our local Turkey Trot 5K. I'm so proud :) Adam slept in while Joe brought Josh to his race. I came home and prepped the kitchen for our 2nd annual Thanksgiving breakfast. Joe's cousin Debbie who lost her husband to suicide 2 years ago yesterday came with her daughter. We just love them. Our beloved friend Mike came as well. I let him know how thankful we are for him this year. Now I can rest for a bit before heading to my sister in-laws. I want to thank my Sparkfriends for helping me through an amazing year. Without know who you are... I don't think I could've been the mother I would want to and need to be for my son.. Bless you. Thank you for your words of encouragement and guidance through a year that has made my family closer and stronger than I could have ever imagined. I send love to you.
