Jet lag recoup....

Joe woke me up with a phone call at 10:30am. I'm glad he did. I was awake until almost 1am because I slept until the afternoon the day before. So hopefully I will sleep better tonight. I was quite out of it today. Not at all surprising. I'm not good at adjusting after flying. Thats ok. It will work its way out. Food was good. I slept through breakfast. I went to lunch with friends and mom for her birthday. I had chicken cobb salad with no cheese and balsalmic dressing. Greek yogurt for snack. Steamed broccoli, ground turkey with taco seasoning, lowfat cheddar cheese and salsa on top. Yum...I did some laundry today. Adam had dinner tonight with Chris and his dad. Adam seems very happy with Chris as his boyfriend. We will see. Last night I had a binge moment. The guys got pizza for a fundraiser with wrestling. I had no breakfast so I justified it as 3 slices for breakfast and 3 for dinner :(.... I let it go. I just needed to put it out there. Now its gone. Today was good. I didn't take a Zumba class. I knew I needed the extra sleep. I think I may do some strength training tomorrow. Have a great day!

What an amazing trip! So gorgeous. So heavenly. Weather was perfect. Breathetakingly beautiful. We are so blessed to have had this moment in time. From a Spark perspective I didn't do well.... The mia tia's seemed like my friend at the time. Yum.. The desserts....decedant. So... I haven't tried on my jeans yet. I'd been wearing shorts for the week of course. They were a size 10. Hmmm...what happened to those size 6's on was rocking before my foot injury? At home mad at me I"m sure. I'm ok. I will get back on track right now. I ate well yesterday except for some chocolate last night. The traveling was crazy. We left Kona Saturday at 1:18pm and got into our airport at 11:30am Sunday. Wow! I had a burrito bowl with pulled pork with salsa and lettuce for lunch. I had a yogurt for snack. I had chinese take out...shrimp, chicken and broccoli for dinner. No rice. So not bad. I'm going to buy some Zumba sneakers today. My first class back tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it. The boys are awesome. I missed them sooooo much. They missed us too. I think that was good for all of us :). I woke up today at 1pm! Yay! Hopefully I slept through the jet lag! I have laundry to do today. Life is good. I'm so happy to have my Sparkies back! HI!     Aloha! It sounds like the best trip ever, minus the gained pounds that I'm sure will start melting off now. You were missed plenty here and it's so good to have you back now. I'm glad you could enjoy yourself, you deserved the break.

    ALOHA! I wondered where you were. I'm glad you had a wonderful time! It sounds like your foot healed up just in time!
Yea, I've had a rough time. My co-captain mutinied for no apparent reason. I'm assuming she was motivated by homophobia. It might have been something completely different. When I told her how hurt I felt,
she quit Spark People rather than explain or apologize! She has been under a lot of stress and I am praying for her still. Send a prayer in her direction, please. God will apply it where it belongs.
I'm glad Adam has a Mom like you. I know he will be supported through his hurtful times.

OMG...I've got lots to do! So psyched! Packed most of my things. Organized alot of things here. I got myself a nice manicure and pedicure. Things are going well. I still have lots to do. I'm taking a bit of a break. I will miss my boys so much. The flight will be forever....but I know I'm going to have a great time when I get there. I do have some more cleaning to do. I'm not in my skinny clothes but I am in cute clothes. So thats good enough considering the lack of exercise. I won't be sparking until October 24th. Have a great couple weeks!

Thanks again...I got through the rest of the day well. No more binging and a healthy dinner of roasted chicken with broccoli. I ran errands and saw my therapist. The entire hour was about Adam and the video blogs he made. We agree he shouldn't be able to use the computer until his birthday November 1st. and no Ipod either. Also, while we are away he won't be going out with friends. I don't want to worry about what he is up to while we are in Hawaii. I explained this to him and he wasn't happy but is dealing. I bought some cute shoes for our trip and Joe bought me some good sneakers as well. :) I will start packing today and that should make me feel better. I sent the director of the gym an e-mail about only taking classes for a while when we come back from my trip instead of teaching right away. I realized that was a main reason I binged. I was dreading that e-mail. I'm relieved its done and I can focus on easing my way back into my exercising when I get home. I feel much better today and I know I'm back on track. I just binged. I haven't done that in soooo long. I got my period this morning. I just don't know. I had a fudge from yesterday, chocolate cream pie from Saturday and 3 pieces of pepperoni pizza. Ugggg...... I feel awful. I feel sick from period and overeating... Wow...I don't know what to do with myself. Wow. I'll have to move on from this. I know. I just feel sick. I feel like I've failed. One moment at a time.

See things can always be worse. So you stumbled a little. We are human, imperfection is in our nature. All you can do is pick yourself up and start again tomorrow. The world will not end because of pepperoni.

The good thing is you recognized the binge. Don't beat yourself up for being human. Laugh at the fact you let a pizza set you back a bit.

Now that you've recognized the problem, stop and do something positive for YOU! Readjust your goals, take a long relaxing shower/bath, pre-plan your meals for tomorrow, anything just do something positive.

Tomorrow is your chance to redeem your self esteem. Start now and set your self up to be successful tomorrow.

    OMG - The SAME thing happened to me this weekend. I ate a half bag of pretzels, 2 slices of pizza, crackers, cereal and Kashi bars. Then I got a migraine that lasted for 3 days and also got my period right in the middle of all that!

It just sucks doesn't it ? Then all that self loathing and guilt and embarrassment hits you. I have spent all day telling myself the same things I am going to tell you. It was a lapse, a flat tire on the journey we are traveling. If you get a flat tire on your car, do you abandon it and forget about the rest of the trip? NO!!! You change the tire, get back in the car and continue on your way! And that's what you and I are going to do. Let's check the oil and battery while we're at it - gas up and GO !!!

    You are not a failure, you just had a setback, this can happen to anyone at anytime. Maybe it's a good thing that you're going to see your therapist tomorrow. If you don't feel any better about the binging by morning, maybe that is something you can talk out then if you need to. You can get right back on track after this, it is ok. I know it is bad when your TOM hits and everything can get out of whack, been there, done that. One step at a time, that is all you can do sometimes.

Nobody is perfect each and every day.

I also had a (smallish) binge yesterday, thought it was because of tiresome work, cold weather and darkness - but as you mention, period may have played a role in it...

    Try to move past it - drink lots of water, and get back to it (Now, not tomorrow) with your proper eating. It happens. Look at what caused it, and what you can learn from it for the future. emoticon
