So I tore my planer fascea....

Friday, September 16, 2011

Ugggg....I'm so glad I went to the podiatrist this morning. He taped up my foot so beautifully I wanted to kiss him :). Note to good to your feet! They are soooo very important. The pain is almost gone completely. Bad news...I can't teach for 2 weeks at the least. Ugggggg.... So I had to come home and make some difficult phone calls. Luckily they were left on voicemails. I will have to talk to those in charge of my classes but at least they will deal with a message before they get back to me. I am so bummed. I love teaching. I miss it already. :( I also love dancing. I won't be dancing for 2 weeks. Wow. That will be tough on my psyche. I will be sparking alot. I hate this but it could have been so much worse. I was diagnosed with a tear in my planter fascea and there could have been so much more involved in it. So I am thankful but still sad. One day at a time with this. Ok, maybe more like one minute at a time...

OUCH I feel that pain! Had one myself here a couple of summers ago! SO NOT FUN!
Just glad you went and had it checked on. You could have done more damage to it in the long run and not even known WTH!
I have a booboo on my left foot that i am nursing Walt left his reciprocating saw on the floor just in the wrong place because it and my foot connected and nicked the top of my foot. I have kept it clean and bandaged but t is sore and a little inflamed. So I am going to soak it in a good tub of Epsom salts this morning. So we'll both sit with our feet elevated today right......right!

Hope you heel up quick - do all your rehab stuff - especially if rehab means doing nothing ! (which is the hardest part!) Good Luck

At least it's only 2 weeks and not 2 months! If you had pushed yourself, the injury could have become worse than it is.

    Oh, Snookums!

I am so very glad that you got checked out. I have such foot problems myself and know what it's like not to be able to do things that others can. I know that you feel bummed out, but be glad that you could get it checked out so soon.

It takes 3-4 weeks before I can get in to see a Doctor. Let alone a podiastist? That would be months.

Take care of yourself. You are a healthy person and you will heal up very soon. Be good to yourself so you don't have any set backs.

I have suffered from plantar fasciitis and it is extremely painful. My feet are good now, but I wear good solid shoes only now which is sad but my feet are thanking me, not my wallet though!

Glad the podiatrist was able to wrap you up, and it will feel better soon! Stay off your feet.

I'm glad you had your foot checked out. Imagine had you tried to teach class with an injured foot. Perhaps things may have gotton worse. Wishing you a quick recovery and try to stay off of your feet as much as you can. Hugs, Keke

Hi friends!

Soooo,,, I felt a pop in my arch during my Zumba class yesterday. It didn't really even hurt. It just felt like I couldn't put any pressure on it. I went home, elevated it, iced it and bought an arch support for my sneaker. That helped. I will buy a compression bandage today. It feels better this morning. I've been taking ibuprofin every 4 hours. That has helped. I don't have a class until Monday. Thats good. I'm going to be very easy on it until then. I can't start this new class with an injury. Uggggg.... Besides the injury my third class was awesome! Everyone was smiling and really getting into it! Yay! They even took flyers after class for my new class starting Monday. So I really have to be good to myself until then. I'm going to the school gym today to check out the area I will be teaching my class Monday. Besides that it should be a very quiet day. I do have a confirmation meeting with my nephew tonight. He asked me to be his sponser :). How nice. Food was good until I woke up during the night and couldn't get back to sleep. I usually have one of those nights before my period and last night was it. I came downstairs and had to pieces of left over chicken and a skinny cow truffle bar. Luckily that seemed to be enough to tame the beast and I slept a couple more hours on the couch. I will clean up around here and elevate my foot every once in a while. Have a great day!

Class number 3....

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Uggggggggg.....I'm so nervous again. Not nervous like I can't eat...or I think I'm going to be sick. Nervous none the less. I am feeling better before each class though... so thats improvement. I was sooooo off yesterday. The day did get better. I didn't yell at anyone....thanks to my Sparkies who offered their ear :). Food was amazing. Well I did have a skinny cow ice cream cone in the afternoon :). I figured it was better than raiding the ice cream stand down the street. Yes? I baked skinless, boneless chicken thighs for dinner. With rosemary, pepper and a bit of salt. It was such a hit! Yum! I had a salad with mango salsa and cucumbers. We watched the last repeat of Glee! Yay! Next week the new season begins and omg we are beside ourselves! That show made our lives possible this year and we can't wait to have it back. It's like a warm soft blanket you can't wait to wrap around you at the end of the day. Omg sooo nervous about this class. I will keep you updated on how it goes. I'm getting my hair colored today. Yay! I feel so much better when my hair is done. So girly :). Have a great day friends!

I woke up from a bad dream. I woke in a bad mood. Yuch. I am totally pmsing and not really looking forward to the day. My dad called me last night and was really upset because he and my mom were arguing. Ugggg...I tried to give him some coping skills and let him know that I've had one hell of a year and they would have to deal with this on their own. I 've never done that before. I'm usually the mediator in their marriage. Isn't that wrong? With my own therapy this year I've realized that is not my job. So I calmly told him to call the therapist in the morning. Drink some water. Talk to God and let it be for the night. One day at a time and all that....Then hung up. So that ended my night really crappy and I haven't gotten out of that funk. I'm headed to my Zumba class in an hour and I hope that will help. I didn't work on any choreography yesterday. I will work on a song today. I will run through my routine tonight. I need to do some more cleaning today. Food was awesome yesterday. I've had my greek yogurt this morning. Have a great day.

I have never had my parents call me when they were arguing. I don't even call anyone when I am arguing with my guy.

As far as I'm concerned, it's NOT your job to be their mediator. That only puts you into the frey and you get burned for it. You are so right to tell your Dad that there is no way that you should be involved in it.

Yay for you to finally put him in his place. I bet he was surprised. LOL.

Your class will put you in a better mood. Yay for endorphins!

Have a better day.

SIMPLE_IS_BEST 9/13/2011 11:18AM

It sounds like a good day except for that phone call. You are not required to be anybody's therapist unless you are licensed and getting paid. It's good to be a listener, and if they ask for advice you can give your 2 cents, but beyond that, just let their problems roll off your back like water off a duck. If they have a problem with that, then that's THEIR problem, not yours. Your parents are adults, they can and will solve their problems one way or another, with our without your help. So don't take it too seriously. Just be a good listener, then when you're off the phone, put it out of your mind. Because ultimately whatever you say won't matter anyway, they will do what they will do...

Have a good day! Don't worry about your parents!

We watched alot of coverage of 9/11. It was necessary but painful. It brought everything back so vividly. For my kids this was brand new and it was awful to see their faces and know what this was doing to their psyche. They need to know. They need to understand but I watched a piece of their innocence gone forever. Terrorists did this. We started the day with a 3 hour special about it. I decided we needed to get out for a while and wash this off. So we met Joe's cousin and her new husband for lunch. That was awesome. They went to Hawaii for their honeymoon and it was so fun to see pix and talk about such an amazing part of our country. It made us so excited for our trip to Kona next month! They are a wonderful couple and the kids have a blast with them. I had a burrito bowl with pulled pork, salsa, lettuce and guacamole. Yum! We ran errands...bought a new camera for our trip, bought Josh some sneakers, I got some cute things for our trip at Gap Body then went to Staples to pick up Adams school supplies. We headed home and the boys did their homework. I was still bummed about the day so we ended up treating ourselves to barbaque by the river. Yum again! It was a gorgeous crisp evening. One that deserves a soft sweatshirt. I had pulled pork again :) Some cucumber and tomatoe vinegrette salad and chopped salad. Yum. We treated ourselves with splitting some extremely decatent desserts and headed home. There was a moving documentary on tv when we got home about the fireman of New York that day. It was so difficult to watch. I'm so glad we did but....Wow! So for once I'm thrilled its Monday and I"m ready to start a new week. I'm going to work on some new choreography for my class and get some cleaning done around here. Enjoy your Monday!

Yes death and dieing are difficult to watch at any time so that would be something difficult for children to take in What age are they. I`m glad you broke it up with something light after.

Lunch sounded divine too! Give me ideas LOL

So sorry, I could only read half your blog. I am not ready to read about more death right now. I do have empathy for your sons. I hope they will not be frighten or anxious by this event. It was truly a tragic story. I actually work there back in 1993 when the first attempt was made. And my brother (who just passed away) was there (mid-town) that day in 2001. It is just too much to think about.
