Wow! what a day yesturday...

Yesterday's blog was so full!!!! Of great stuff! I was the taxi driver the rest of the afternoon and we went to dinner with Tori and her family. The dad is our friend whom has lymphoma. He looks great!!! I'm so happy he is rocking on. It was a year ago July 28th that he ended up in the hospital for a month. We were really concerned we would never see him walk out of there. After a year of serious earth shattering treatments he is in remission and doing great. Of course taking this day by day still but we are so happy to be able to spend fun time hanging out laughing and joking together. We went for barbeque and I had pulled pork and 2 side salads. Yum. We went for awesome fro yo. Dairy free yogurt and a little mango, kiwi, strawberry, a few chocolate chips, a couple m &m's, and a big drizzle of chocolate syrup. I don't care! Lots of celebrating! Amazing job opportunity followed by great catch up with long time friends. I don't have a Zumba class today but I will work on my routine. Definitely! I had fat free greek yogurt for breakfast. A handful of almonds. Yum. I'm making a salmon salad for lunch. I'm taking Josh and his friend to see Captain America tonight while Adam is seeing Crazy Stupid Love with his friends. I brought Joe to the dr. this morning for the results of his stress test. They want him to see a cardiologist. The said that it could just be his body and where his diaphram is positioned but there seems to be a prominence? Hmmmm... I'm glad he will be looked at by a specialist. Our doctor doesn't let things go so I"m glad its being looked at seriously. I really would like him eating healthier. If this ends up being nothing I'm glad it has him looking at food differently. He had two sides of fries with dinner last night if that gives you any idea. I'll keep you updated.

I did it!

I waivered a bit last night. I told Joe I just wasn't sure about teaching in September. Maybe January would be better. Joe calmly explained to me that he didn't sell 100's of BMW's his first year. You just have to go for it. So I did. This morning! I went to my Zumba class and asked if I could do the warm up. She said of course. I used my Ipod and put my song on. First I showed them some of the moves to look for. I think that helps emensely for a new song. The song went extremely well and many women were smiling by the second verse. :) I finished and was very pleased with it. By the middle of class she had me come up and do the song I've been doing with her a few times. She left me in front of the class to teach alone and went to the back and recorded about 20 seconds of me teaching! She said she will send it to me so I can get a good perspective of what I'm doing! Yay! How awesome is that!!!! The girls were great and so encouraging. After class the instructor was very supportive and gave me some important critisisms that will help alot. So you think that would have been the highlight of my day.... Not quite! While having lunch with Joe and Josh an instructor called and offered me a real job in September! 8 weeks at a local high school! I brand new class all my own!!! I'm so psyched! She will help me firm up my routine and I'll be ready!!!!! Thanks so much my Sparkies once again for all your words of wisdom and support!

Congratulations! I think seeing yourself and the moves you are making is a great idea although you must be doing something right already!

So I went to the Monday night class at this gym that I only go to every other Tuesday. Omg! There were like 50 women there. I know the routine to a song she does but I have 3 instructors who do it. Well I started the routine and did it different than she does it. I got through it but the women in the front row said they aren't good with change and they are creatures of habit. Uggg! Aren't they supposed to follow me? Ugggg! The second song was much better but I was soooo bummed. I talked to my instructor friends on the phone later and I decided next Monday I will do my song that the usual instructor has never done. That is key. If they don't know any version of the song they will have to follow me. Right? This is the hard part. I will not let it break me. I will work until this is mine and awesome. There is an old snookums who would just cave right now. Who would want to put it all away and say no thank you. Not this snookums!!!! I will make this happen and not let one set back stop me. Got that!!!!! I"m going to a class at this gym today and I just want to dance and remember what I love about Zumba. Have a great day!!!!

Subbing is VERY hard with adults. The worst class I ever subbed for was a college class and the people were brutal. When I retired and my principal asked if I would be subbing, I said,"no and don't bother calling." And I haven't. It's better for everybody. :)

I am not a dancer by anyone's standard, but I kind of look at that the way I do anything else. Take sports, I may play them but not well. Does that make a difference? I think the main thing is that we are all up and moving--some of us just have no rythm!

Hello Sparkies.

Monday, August 01, 2011

So I dropped Adam off at play rehearsal this morning. There is a boy who is the choreographer in the play that Adam is interested in. They've been texted for about a month now. His name is Joe. Yes, like my husband. Joe says they have to wait until after the show to start dating because it would not be appropriate since he is the choreographer. So I have 2 weeks to wrap my brain around the dating stuff. One day at a time is back. I'll be seeing my therapist next Tuesday so she will help. We had such a relaxing day yesturday. It was a beautiful thing. Joe went to basketball and I slept in. Josh came home from his sleepover around 10am. Adam went to a very late breakfast with my parents and Joe, Josh and I went to do some shopping and got some yummy drinks at Starbucks. Joe and I split a iced decaf soy latte with sugar free hazelnut and a drizzle of mocha. Yum! I had some greek yogurt with almonds for breakfast before we left. We ended up at our favorite Sub shop for lunch. I had a garden salad and they put some yummy roastbeef and turkey on top. Yum again. Adam came home and needed to practice his script all afternoon. I started an awesome book and Joe watched Nascar. A rare treat for him. Joe, Josh and I ended up taking a nap on the couch for a couple of hours then decided dinner was necessary. We went to a local place that we had a gift certificate for. Score! I had a Cobb salad and iced tea. We came home and watched a wickedly scarey movie on demand. Insidious. Omg! So awesomely frightful! It was like the old thrillers. If you like scary you have got to check it out. We all headed to bed pretty early for summer hours. I sunny beautful lazy day and just perfect. Today I made a yummy eggwhite ommlete with broccoli, spinich, lowfat cheddar and tomatoes. I need to practice my routine for an hour and I'll head out to a class tonight. The instuctor who wants me to sub for her will have me do songs in front of this class. I'll keep you updated on this. I'm a bit nervous about this one. Have a great day!!!

What a relaxing weekend. I bet you needed it too!

I love horror films. I will be sure to remember to watch Insidious next movie night.

Good Luck with learning dance routine and subbing as well.

Busy Busy Busy...

Sunday, July 31, 2011

Wow! So I got everything done yesturday and was rewarded with some fun time with hubby and a great movie. What a beautiful day! The weather was picture perfect. I think today will be as well. Food was pretty good considering the time of the month. No complaints. We went to Joe's cousins 40th birthday party last night. It was nice. They had a dj so I enjoyed a bit of dancing. :) It's getting harder and harder to watch how dismembered Joe's family has become. I'm not going to get into the details but its just strange to see it all. The last six months have made me super aware of life. I've become a person who doesn't need to fix or change anything so instead just observing is just eye opening. Oh well. It was nice to spend time with Joe and just be. We left the party at 9 15 and went to a 10pm movie. We went to see Stupid Sexy Love. I think thats the name. It was sweet and fun and just what we needed together. Boy, marriage is awesome but something that you have to nurture and water help grow. The ebbs and flows are not for whimps.... not for children... it is so necessary to be attentive to it and keep a firm eye on the prize. We are blessed but we also know that we have to make this happen. Its not a right but a gift we must treasure. Be amazing for the one you love. Honor him or her and be present with them. Have a great day!

A wonderful heart felt blog. Glad you had time to spend with your honey and be supportive in spite of his family. Planning on seeing that movie soon. The previews looked good. Enjoy your day! Hugs, Keke
