Every year in January, the annual horde of brand new members takes over my gym. New members with new shoes, new workout gear, new water bottles, new attitudes, new everything -- New Year's Resolutions and all.
Usually it's that first box of Valentine's Day chocolates that cripples their Spirit. They'll show up next week, a ghost of their former selves, staggering from machine to machine in a glassy eyed daze, still reeking of Hershey's Kisses and Caramel covered Cherries. Occasionally locking eyes with some of us long time veterans with that look in their eyes as if to ask, "What? How do you do it? How do you really do it?!?!?".
Alas, only six weeks into the new year and the gym crowd is usually back to normal, seems like we gotta work on changing all that, huh?
