Yoga was fantastic! It was my first time, but I felt like I did pretty well. Here are some newer pics that I'm not sure if I've posted or not. I definitely noticed during yoga that I liked the way my legs looked.

    Jamielogical- this time when i gained weight i gained more in my stomach and legs. I am starting to like my legs but my stomach still looks like ive had a child lol. Im also trying to get upper body strength this time around. No more shopping cart arms!

I did just regular beginner yoga. Not sure if it had an official name

    Your legs do look fantastic! I'm pretty jealous. I carry all my weight in my legs so they are SUPER fat right now. It's like my top half and bottom half are two separate people.

i need drink suggestions

So fri i am going out for my friends bday. I am planning on drinking. I havent drank in a VERY long time, so i am planning ahead. My fav drink is malibu, midori, sour apple pucker, apple juice, and pineapple juice. Tastes like a popsickle, but high in calories. I dont do beer. I am thinking of maybe doing strawberry crystal light with whipped vodka or malibu?? This should be between 60-90 cals, which isnt bad. Ive cut soda, so no diet soda options as a mixer. Does anyone else know of some tasty lower cal options? Ive been low on my calories the other days of the week so ill have a cushion, but if i can cut down on the drinks here and there thatd be good.     oh and I almost forgot, if you mix with the club soda or sparkling water or even on the rocks, ask for a splash of cranberry or orange etc

    The one time I played around last year I found the Crystal Light idea worked well with the flavored vodkas (vanilla was great!) and club soda (0 calories), I don't have too many other ideas cause now I just get a Miller 64 or a Mike's Light.

    Those are great ideas! We have rasp lemonade liquid flavor (its like crystal light but u squirt it in water vs powder form). I just tested a little with malibu. Not bad! Id prefer strawberry vs the lemonade taste, but it was good. I could slip the liquid flavor thing in my purse and at the bar i could order a shot of malibu, a glass of water, and could add the flavor myself... around 60 cal:) im thinking this might be my plan

    Malibu and pineapple juice is good - not sure how pineapple juice is calorie wise. Mike's hard lemonade and cranberry come in Light varieties. Crystal light just came out with cocktail flavors like margarita, mojito, cosmopolitan, appletini, and maybe something else. if you are making your own you could do that with a splash of rum or vodka. Otherwise not sure...but I'm sure others will have some ideas. You can try googling it too :) that's my answer for everything! :)

feeling kind of blah

Not really sure what the cause of my mood is, but i just feel kind of blah. I dont feel sick or anything and i did enjoy doing pole class early this morning with a friend so i cant explain it. I dont really feel excited or interested in much... just kind of detached i guess is how u could explain it. Im not even really interested in eating lol. Who knows. Maybe tomorrow ill feel different:-/

    I have days like that too. I think it's pretty normal. We can't all be gung-ho, excited, go go go, 100% of the time. Some days are just blah and that's okay.

running record!

So today i did 6 miles!!! My previous record was 3. I jogged a mile, walked 2 mins, repeat for 6 miles. It took me 1 hr 33 mins. I used my new HR monitor. It said my avg HR was 162 and max was 185. My resting is around 70. It said i burned 1135 cal!!! SP and the treadmill said about half of that. I checked on another website where u put in ur avg HR, age, weight, etc and it was very close to what my monitor said. I got a polar ft4. Exciting:)

    That's exactly why I love having a HRM! Getting to know how many calories you are actually burning instead of just an estimate is awesome. I'm not sure how old you are but 185 is close to my max heart rate (220 minus your age) , so be careful about getting too close to or over that number. My heart rate monitor starts beeping at me if I get to my max heart rate, which I thankfully haven't done too many times. But I looked up what can happen if you reach your max heart rate and some of it is pretty scary stuff!

    That's awesome! And yes strength training is supposed to help.
As for the calories there's the difference between how much you burned total & what you burned over your resting and I believe that's what SP gives you.

    Thx. The outsides of my knees are very sore if i try going down stairs or squat slightly. I guess strength training will help with this?

opinions needed- 10k

I found out there is a 10k at a ranch not far from our house Aug 11th. I was going to do a 10k in Sept, but am considering this one. Thoughts?

There is a video that shows the course. It is kind of intense. There are logs and a river. They said there is a bridge so u dont HAVE to run thru the river if u dont want to. I am checking tobsee when the max time is, but on the schedule it says race starts at 8 and awards are at 945, so i am guessing an hr and 45 mins is the max??? I did my 5k in 40 mins. I can jog between 12-15 min miles and walk between 15-20 min miles, so i think i could finish around then, but have never tried. Id hate to sign up and not be able to do it, but it looks really cool and is very pretty. Let me know what u think spark friends!

    Hm... thats an idea. Thats the first week back to school. I am thinking that the route for the ace might be a little intense for my first one.

    I'm still debating that 10K myself, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the Blue Moon Run. You might consider trying that one, it's about 10K and it's a fun run and not timed since it's at night. Plus it would give you a little more time, it's August 31st. (http://www.active.com/running/hunt

    I would be hesitant to attempt a non-traditional course like that for my 10k, but you've been pushing out of your comfort zone and trying all sorts of new things, so it's really up to you!
