Goodbye "Overweight"

So my BMI today is officially 25.0.... if I lose another 0.6 lbs then I'll officially enter the world of "normal weight" and say goodbye to "overweight" forever. I started off as obese! I NEVER thought I was technically considered obese. I've loved the journey SP has taken me on and did my first private swim lesson today in preparation for my triathlon. Who would've thought that Sara would have the nerve to take swim lessons!? I feel great and my body is starting to become when it should be. I can't wait for all the new adventures that lay ahead for this year!

Positive Power

I read this article about being positive and I wanted to share it with others. I really agree with the fact that by having a positive attitude SO much can be accomplished. You can do anything! By being an advocate for yourself and not mentally putting yourself down is the key to being successful. Also, with a positive attitude you're not as stressed and can be more flexible. Things don't seem as big of a deal and you can enjoy exercising, cooking healthy meals, spending time being active with family, etc. See how powerful a tool sharing that positive attitude with otheres can be. It is amazing to see through my substitute teaching experiences how enthusiasm and sharing positivity with students who come into class filled with negativity can be effected by your attitude.

Took the plunge!

So I took the plunge and signed up for my first triathlon! emoticon I am very excited. It's in august, but I should be done the training program in the beginning of June, so I have a cushion. That'll keep me motivated to workout as much as i've put on my schedule. I really think I can stick with it. I've NEVER worked out regularly, but it's been fun. I'm actually going to the pool tomorrow! I haven't been to a pool since I was probably 12. What an adventure.

    lol. Without ambitions then we don't go anywhere, right?? Just like with my students... if you have low expectations they develop learned helplessness and aren't motivated to go to that next level. i found a couch to triathlon program and really thing it's an obtainable goal. why can't i be a triathlete? other people do it. i'm going to do it.

    TRIATHLON! Wow, I'm impressed!! You go girl, you can do it! You're amazing Sara, from setting the record for the least amount of steps in one day to a triathlon. LOL

Future Goals

So I've decided I would like to be a triathlete. Big ambition, but I think I can do it. There's this training program not too far away that sounds awesome! That's in april.

There's a triathlon in August just for women. It's a little over half a mile of swimming, 17 miles biking, and a 5k running. I think I can do it!! I mean just look at the park that it goes through! Wow. I would love to be a triathlete one day. Now if I can just figure out how to get a bike into my little civic hatchback. I'd also have to grow a pair and step into a pool. lol. I haven't swam since I was 11. Maybe in 09 it'll happen!


On top of the world!

Wow! I feel on top of the world!!! I start the Bootcamp Challenge and W5D1 of the Couch to 5k program tomorrow, but didn't have anything scheduled for today. I had some time, so I decided to go to the gym at my apt complex. At the end of week 5 I'll have to jog for 20 mins straight. So far i've only been asked to do intervals of 5 mins, but I said hey... why not just try to see if I can do it. AND I DID IT!!!! I ACTUALLY JOGGED FOR 20 MINS STRAIGHT!!! I can't believe it. I have NEVER been able to do that and really feel like I accomplished a lot. I did a 5 min walking warm up, 20 min jog, and then kept walking for 35 mins for a total of 3.66 miles. I feel fabulous. Thank you SP! Bootcamp--- I'm ready for ya!

    Yay! I've been thinking about the Couch to 5K program, but it's pretty daunting. For now sticking with the boot camp!
