So its been two weeks with no loss. Ive stayed exactly at 194. Ive been high with calories, ive been low with calories... last week i burned the 1000 cal i was supposed to. Ive been eating LOADS of fruits and veggies (more than ever before). Still only drinking water. I am eating well... not dsure what the problem is... if i dont start losing soon ill be behind in my weight loss goals. We did go out to a clubby part of baltimore this weekend. I felt very good at the bars. I felt sexy for the first time in a while and was checked out some. I just wish my body wld cooperate. Ill post pics up later from this weekend. Trying to enjoy my last day before i go back to school/work.

Here are the pictures from this weekend. I used self tanner this past week so I am definitely feeling much more attractive than I used to.

I had several plateaus losing weight. It happens, but don't stop! Be patient and keep working! It could be time to ramp up the cardio, or change it up a bit. Take care of yourself and stay healthy! Do the sparkpeople thing, keep tracking and your body will catch up to your healty you!

When I first got back on track I had several weeks where the scale didn't budge, but then it decided to cooperate. I'd like to have a lot of by mid-June but I'm trying to be happy with whatever loss I have. It will come, don't give up!

Thanks! Ur the best. Im just a luttle worried because i still have SOoooo much weight to lose. Id expect plateaus, just farther down the line. Im almost out of the obese range, but i still have 34 lbs to go for my aug goal and 54 lbs to go for my total goal! With that much weight to lose i dont feel like my body shld be stopping yet. Plus its annoying because when i started sp in 2008 i was 194... which is my weight now. Frustrating to work so hard to get down to this weight just to be where i started... but when i started i lost a lot quickly because i had just started. Im realy to get this moving again!

Don't be discouraged. You know the right things to do and you are doing them, so the scale will catch up with you. Just keep doing what you know is right.

I have been eating everything in sight. So I have gained a few pounds, but at least I know the reason why.

I am just ready to turn things around. Today I am starting by eliminating the sweets cold turkey! Then in about a week, I am going to resume tracking all my food. I'm read to turn it around!

As for you, you deserve good results, so you will get good results! Don't worry too much.

Healthy dinner

Wednesday, April 04, 2012

I really enjoyed the healthy dinner I made for myself tonight. I had salmon with mushrooms, onions, tomatos, and spinach. I had an avocado on the side. Yum!

FABULOUS day! I got a facial (my first) and a haircut/blow dry. Then I went to the mall with a friend. I bought several really cute tops. Very different style than I usually get. A lot of them had lacy backs around the shoulder area or were off the shoulder shirts. I also got a coach purse!!! I got hit on several times at the mall too. I felt quite attractive strutting around the mall with new clothes, an awesome purse, and my hair done. Here are some pictures of the shirts I got. Oh, and I also did more steps today then I've done since Feb 2009 (6110 steps today). I took the stairs instead of the escalator... walked all over the mall... parked far away... and when we got lunch at Red Robin I got a plain grilled chicken sandwich with a glass of water and apple slices as a side:)
-- similar to that and its blue

I also got a tanktop that is completely pink lace. I wore it over a white spaghetti strap cami.

SP not working!?

Sunday, April 01, 2012

I posted the message below on the message board and was looking for more ideas...

I am looking for ideas to help my dad. He and my mom just joined SP. They say they are following the calorie ranges and hiking on the weekends. He is around 5'7... i looked at his ranges. It was from 1550-1700 something. He was listed as needing to burn 680 cal per week. My mom said she hasnt lost anything and said my dad gained weight. Its upsetting to me because i LOVE sp. Their comments were that my site doesnt work. I said my dad might be eating too little and hes still not drinking water (diet pepsi). He said the diet is too hard to follow and thats why my mom quit yrs ago. They dont get on the computer that frequently and dont have smart phones. My mom has been making spark recipes. They used to do atkins. Any ideas what might be the problem?? My guess is not enough calories and the diet soda, but even if his calories r low shouldnt he have lost at the beginning?? Its just frustrating that they say sp doesnt work:( thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

I think the biggest pro with SP for me is the blogging and the support I find here - not so much the diet. There are guidelines with all diets that must be followed. I think the ideas behind SP are great. The calorie range is good, but remind them of the other things that are important and mentioned in The Spark. The goal setting has been extremely helpful and motivating. Making a goal for nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health has shown me that this can be a healthy lifestyle change and not just a diet. I use the blog feature as a journal more for myself than anything. If they don't get online, maybe they could use a planner or spiral to journal and reflect in. I actually use a planner and then blog later. I know that I can always go back to my blogs (where as I might lose my planner - knowing me!) so I like to keep it online so I have a record of my journey. I also like the message boards, comments left on blogs, and teams so that I can get motivation or support from others going through the same thing. The articles are insightful and motivating as well. I will admit, the first time I got on SP I didn't use it to its fullest and I dropped off of it after a month, not understanding its full potential. I am back a second time and realize how useful it can be. I hope they find what works for them. Just thought I'd offer some thoughts!

Diet soda has a ton of salt - he has to get off that for sure.

As for the calorie burn, that doesn't sound like enough calories. SO I would take a peek at his start weight and goal weight and see what DATE he put in for getting there. That's what will shift those calories and fitness goals around.

If they can't get on the computer and log much - this will be a hard thing for them to keep up with.

Hope this helps a little.
