August 6th, 1965 I almost drown. I was 5 at the time and I slid down a slide into the deep water. I remember coughing as someone was pulling me out. I was ok, but after that I had great fear for water. For years my parents work with me to get over that fear. They signed me up for swimming lessons, which was very difficult to take, but managed to pass. While swimming I had great respect for the water, especially in the deep.

My husband and I went to Jamaica one year and my husband took a fast course SCUBA lesson. He fell in love with this sport and encourage me to take lessons. Right away I said no way, but with his encouragement I took lessons. I started out learning skills in the pool and oh my I was very anxious. Fear ran through my veins but I managed to empty the fear from my head. I passed the pool skills and now I had to do the open water lesson.

We went 20 feet down and formed a circle on a platform that was on the floor of the lake. The water was dark green and cool. Fear came knocking again but harder. I was brought back to 1965 and I thought I can not do this. I remember a bible text my parents taught me when I was fearful. "Be anxious for nothing but in anything by prayer.....let your request be known to God" Philippians 4:6. So I prayed and as I was praying the fear left me. I was able to finishes the open water lesson and pass. I now SCUBA in fresh water and salt. I have seen amazing water creatures and some sunken ships.

Life is full of fearful things. Do not live in fear but face them. Come out from under your covers. Chase away your dream monsters from the closet of your life. emoticon

I can sympathize with you, I almost drown at the age of 13 and lost my brother off my lap in the boat accident. My husband is working with me to get over the fear of water vehicles. Kudos to you!

Daily life lessons from Dumbo

1. We all have flaws we are not happy about. Have the courage to changed the ones you can and find peace with the ones you can not.
2. Do not laugh, tease or ignore those around you. Remember we all have flaws.
3. When life is falling apart, find your happy place. Go to Dumbo's mother and find rest. It could be music, prayer, meditation, friends, exercising, or anyplace or thing that helps you relax and feel happy.
4. Be the Timothy Q. Mouse to those who are the weakest. Help them to believe in themselves so they may reach new heights.
5. Believe in yourself. No magic feather is going to help you achieve in life. Its only wonderful YOU who has a lot to offer.

May you find peace and joy today. Blessing everyone.

Home again

Yesterday after unable to run for a year, ran 15 minutes on the treadmill. I was unable to run due to a sore knee. After a year of my Chiro adjusting my knee I am now able to run with no problems. I ran 15 minutes without stopping at 5mph and at times bump the speed up to 6 for one minute. I felt like I had been running for awhile. I wanted to run more but did not want to over do it.
Today my knee has no pain and will run 2x a week. I am excited I'm able to run. Running for me is a great stress reliever. Good to be back home (gym) again. emoticon
