The Irish Wedding

Monday, August 18, 2008

Our grandson Alex and Susanne were married 8/2/2008, so why am I just getting around to posting this.... Well. the wedding was beautiful. and the reception was great. Susanne's dad plays in an Irish band and they played most of the evening. Don and I decided to leave about eleven. There is a decline ramp going out of the center Don must have turn too quickly because he overturn his scooter. Didn't break anything but injured the muscles. Can't stand on his good leg now. He is going to water therapy three times a week. And to think he's the nondrinker in the family. So I'm getting my exercise by getting Don on his walker that pull around the house. My belly is still big but I'm getting arms like Atlas. I think I've lost a couple of pounds.

My Hubbys Birthday

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

I am married to a real sweetheart. Yesterday was his 72nd birthday. I always ask him what kind of cake should I make for his birthday. It's always the same thing a real German Chocolate Cake. The one that has a billion calories and soooo good no one can resist the second, third or somestime fourth slice. This year he said he would very happy with a slice of store bought cheese cake. That way we wouldn't be tempted. Now that's a real sweetheart. Thanks Don for being my husband I love you and remember don't buy me any sweets for Valentines Day. I like roses and skinny hips.

Tax Time

Saturday, February 10, 2007

When one reaches 70 1/2 they must start taking money from their IRA. The government has a chart that tells you how long you should live. They want make sure you take out all your money before you die so you pay taxes on every penny you have saved before you kick the bucket so every year you must take out a higher percent. If you miss getting it out on time you must pay a penalty of 50% Talk about kicking when your down, the older you get the fewer brain cells we have in our memory mode. The ones I have left are used to remember to do things such as taking meds going to the doctor, dentist and to quit eating when I'm full. And where I left things such as my keys, the mail , the remote ,the car. You get the picture. Now here I am... I was four days late on making my withdrawal. Fifty percent penalty? Isn't there a law about being cruel to old people. Watch it Uncle Sam . No wonder I'm fat I'm using my last memory cells figuring this tax return instead controling what I eat. .....It's the IRS fault I'm fat!

Seems to me that you should be able to have that set to do an automatic withdrawal or something. That is absolutly crazy.

I found the spot on exercise page that shows how many calories you burn doing different chores. I do many of things it lists everyday. Now when I finaly take that seventy pound Christmas tree to the storage shed I'll just thing of all the calories I'm burning.

Have a little more faith

Saturday, February 03, 2007

I have been reading all posts the about asking God for help with dieting. That is what I'll do. I say a prayer before I eat. I have always said my prayers at night but slowly quit the mealtime blessings, and that is when really need a little extra help. I know I should and I KNOW HE WILL lead me from temptations.
